NHL Highlights | Sabres vs. Hurricanes | November 08, 2025
as he is getting ready. Making sure the smelling
salts hit. And here we go. The Canes get back two fixtures up front. They’ll win the draw here. Wrap
this one around the Saber zone. Power across the rink. That shot by Timonss as Fannon. Timonss
will get a second chance. Get this one through and that’ll be kicked away by Coach Czechovnikov
fighting with Krebs. We peer over West McCauley’s shoulder, one of the officials tonight. There’s
a chance for Miller. Loose puck out in front line. out the first piece and then handled the
puck very well. He didn’t overhandle it and as a result Carolina spent less time than they
had to in their own end. Miller with a nice play. He gets it to Martin right on and the
saves made and hung up on first round pick. There a lot of those on the Savers roster.
Byum going to throw that one out in front but into the skates of Hustland and Carolina
coming the other way. Spencer cross. He scores. A perfect setup and Sebastian Aaho’s fifth of the
year has Carolina off to the hot start. 5 minutes in, it’s one- nothing. Okay, can we just sit back
and watch Spetchnikov the different things he did with speed. Cut to the middle. Locate AO on his
natural side for the important first goal of the game. What a cut to the middle on Quinn. sells
the shot just enough. You could tell Lion the Buffalo Goender. Drop back pass for Nikesian is
deflected away. Cans were close to too many men. They avoided it. Oh Paul gets the shot right on.
Kicked away by Lion. Now Connor Timmons fire this one up the boards. Jose with it. Help him down
to the ice. Set up. Oh, they score. Owen Power as Carolina couldn’t get to the loose
puck. Buffalo feeds it to the middle of the ice and in the slot. It’s Owen
Power. Break down in coverage here. You have a drifting situation for Spikov
because Power was his guy. And then you have really good pressure from Quinn on
Nikeshan to help to cause the turnover. Olland to power and Fetchnikov who set up
Carolina’s goal had drifted and that makes the kept in by Aaho. Here’s a chance bouncing puck
from LGO. Oh whip this one right back. Riley he’ll get it to LGO. LGO lets the shot through off but
Le had a keeping net and rang it off of the post moment. And I think he didn’t realize how much
time he could have settled the puck off of the post and we’re tied at one. Kes this one towards
coachov. Didn’t get there. Then he got to stick to it. Slowed it down before it found Stankov. But
here’s Blake turning on the jets. Blake trying to make a move with the shot right on second. Blake
just about turned a really lethargic power play into a power play goal. Stan Kovven just put the
puck in an area for Blake to challenge Timmons. Timmons couldn’t match the speed and for him to be
able in one motion to go from the outside to make that shot into the hurricane zone right over
the blue line. Pretty amazing for Logan Stan Kov. More on that in a minute. Here’s a chance.
Thompson comes in and coach makes the save. Talked about the reach of Tage Thompson and even thought
about Mario Laval or former Saber Jack Eel. And coach Henov takes a punch out and then is able
to match the speed and he’s will chip this one around. AO will get to it. AO will play this one
out. Sashnikov with a shot right on. Rebound and Lion gets to it. Opportunity for Nicki Eers to get
this one back. Miller. Eers. Take it from Jarvis. Backhand pass from Miller. Chance here. They
shoot. Score. Andreetchnikov is having a night. A power play goal and the Canes go up two to
one. Take a look at where Fetchnikov comes from. The motion, excuse me, he’s in front. There
he is. He’s going to pop out. And this is a shot he did not have his rookie year. Score 20 at
even strength. This is a power play goal, but his rookie year, he didn’t have this slap shot. And
he buries this. I mean, massive velocity, perfect placement to beat a smaller goalender high to
the gloves. Nestrom, he’s been close. He gets it right back. Well, Nestrom take this one around the
world. Brings it back. Match up here. They score. Yes, Barry. Coach Kami on the setup. That’ll be
the first NHL point for Yol Nstrom. And the Canes extend their lead. It’s three to one. Yes. Barry
Kok and Yammy’s best shift of the season. Look at him reload because Nestrom’s pitching. So it
starts being responsible on the defensive side of the puck. Nestrom twirls for his first NHL assist
to utilize the first half of the net. Little stutter step on Thompson and puts it right into
the wheelhouse. Bar down for Yes. Barry Coin Emmy. Both teams have had good looks here. And now
here’s a chance. The captain coming in, shoots, rebound, chance, and Lion bests them on both
tries, right? Shot stride. It’s tough to tell from this angle, you know, but sometimes goalenders
will give you that five goal just to try to get you. He’s hanging on. He’ll drop it for Timmons.
Timonss loses it to Aaho. Ao on a break. Ao in alone. And Lion with the save with a blocker. Two
big breakaway saves for Lion. Prize for Maho here. Stick stays on the ice the entire time. Now he he
knows he has the necessary separation. Elects to shoot the puck. Woody have been better served
easy from up here. Quinn leaves it for Byum. He gets a stick to the backhand and that’s sent
wide. Excellent back check by Carolina. Second opportunity by Timmons that hits the post.
will not get a save, but it was his movement that prevented no racetrack for Byron. And then
the puck goes off the bar. Number one, Coachov, you could feel he almost settled his name at
the 52 on his jersey to not have it go off him at the net. And then he’s the goal line. All
three Sabres players were there. Greenway doing some heavy lifting there. Nstrom now will take
a bounce off the stansion, but co will get to it. His pass finds Robinson scores. Welcome back
to the lineup, Eric Robinson. It’s 4-1 Carolina. This was all about the quickness of the release.
Kokami lowrisk, high reward flip to Robinson. Looked like just on side. Two points for Kokami.
And I don’t think that Lion thought the shot was coming that quick. I think especially when the
puck was on edge. I think he thought did a 4-1 lead for the Hurricanes. They brought the face
off out to center ice in order for the full on ice. That one quick. And now here’s a chance for
Tuck. Alex Tuck’s got Thompson with him. Tuck with a shot. He scores. Alex Tuck beats Coachette to
the stick side. And for Tuck, his sixth of the year. ability of Thompson and Tuck. Miller gets
caught. Tuck is forced to the outside. You know, shooting’s really the only option. I guess
Thompson’s driving the far side after he gets into Tuck, but I I think you’d like to see
Coachov. It’s a great shot, but you’d like to see him play bigger. If he plays bigger, it challenges
for his first NHL goal was Nestrom Kessle ringing with it. He’ll drop this one back in it across.
There’s a shot and coach takes away from Greenway and was able to keep himself vertical at the
same time. Went right to the post. We talk about it with F. This one in Don shot that goes
up high on Nestrom. Second opportunity that’ll be blocked before it can get through as Hall stood
sturdy. Now a bounce out in front. Stone rolls one just wide. And now skating away is Thompson.
Thompson will take a seat himself at center ice. Here’s a chance. Co. He tease it up. Blockered
away by Lion. The angle that Keandre Miller took in the neutral zone to create that chance.
Mloud setting it up. Thompson. They score. And Ta Thompson with that heavy wrist. Impressive
push here in this period. They had two layers of the middle lane drive. Always talk about the
middle lane drive. It creates a passing lane for Mloud. Two guys. Usually you just need one for the
middle lane drive. It causes an overback check. All the room for Thompson. And he is not going to
make a mistake from that spot. Mloud took a peek, recognized the trailer. The sniper was there
there and that allows the Canes the opportunity to clear right back on it to Tuck. Tuck. He’ll
feed Mloud alone out in front. Coach Hackov with the save. It’s a backto-back for both teams
tomorrow. The Leafs at home tonight to Boston. There’s a chance. He’s dropped back. Oh, and just
getting a piece of it is Lion Jarvis centering it again in the third. Jarvis Spetchnikov. Ao, but
Lion with the save. Won 11 of 18 draws tonight. Now this time it’ll be one by Mloud across Samson.
Shot kick away coach. Stalled to the rebound up for Jarvis. Jarvis trying to play it around
Jarvis and D. Bingo. Seth Jarvis’s ninth of the year and it’s a 53 lead for Carolina. that
just say an empty net goal is highlight reel, but I think this one suffices the extra move
and then top cheese. I mean, this is pretty special. He’s been the empty net magician so far
this season. The move to beat the reach and the range of helps it around. Kim gaps up on Robinson.
Don sends one. Ricochets away. Kept in by Power. Power to Krebs. Krebs. He gets it to LGO for his
first his first NHL goal for Charles Alexis Lgo. 170 ft. Nothing but net and the Canes
have a 6-3 lead. Sometimes you can see a smile through a mouth guard that
needs to be surgically removed. Goal and assist. Both the first for
LGO here in this third period. bounces that thing home. Can you see the smile
through the mouth guard? Well, you bet you can. Carolina did what they do. Two empty net
goals and this one is going to the books.
