The 49ers Just Got a Very INTERESTING Report | San Francisco 49ers

Well, the 49ers just got very conflicting news, but they’re not resting on their laurels, and I’m going to tell you all about that in this video. Hit subscribe if you’re looking for 49ers content like this. Appreciate all of you guys for hitting that sub button, the liking. It really helps me out with the algorithm, all that good stuff. But let’s get straight into the question of the day, which is how are the 49ers going to navigate this injury situation, which has not gotten better. For the most part, it’s only gotten worse. And that didn’t stop the Niners from making moves. They will continue to make moves, we believe. And there’s one move in particular that I think is pretty controversial. So, we’re going to get to that kind of later in the video. But to set that up, let me know in the comments how you feel like the 49ers should be handling this injury situation. Now, I know this probably feels like a question that is similar to the types of questions we’ve been getting all year long. And I understand that because we’ve been talking about injuries, we’ve been talking about trades. We’ve been talking about how we solve problems for the like how this team solves problems. And I get that like so maybe this feels like the same kind of question we’ve talked about before. Or maybe as we get through the video, you’ll understand a little bit more deeply what I mean by why I’m phrasing the question the way that I am. For me, I think Kyle Shanahan has a really tough job on his hands. He’s trying to navigate these waters where it’s clear to me that Kyle Shanahan does not believe that this is a Super Bowl bound team this season and he’s really keeping next year in mind. They’re they’re doing everything they can financially um to not give up a ton of draft capital to not give up a ton of money in order to bring players in. However, then you get conflicting reports where other people are saying, “Oh, hold on now. The 49ers are in on some bigname guys.” So, we’re going to get into all of that. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. Let’s start off with the injury situation real quick. This problematic injury situation has only gotten worse. You have Ricky Pierol who did not practice today. He was limited if you remember last week on Thursday if I’m not mistaken. He was limited on Thursday, did not practice on Friday. Now he’s not practicing again. So, yeah, not great there. Yet Goss Matsos still out. Not great there. Bryce Huff still out. That doesn’t surprise us. We believed it was going to be at least two weeks. This would be week two. Alfred Collins, he’s dayto-day. We hope he can go, but he did not practice today. D. Winters, another big hit to your team. A guy who has been so much better this season. He’s still struggling in coverage like he did last year, like I’m not trying to paint a a beautiful picture of how he’s played all out, but overall, I think we’ve seen some really nice plays from him. We’ve seen him be powerful. we saw. I mean, he looked fantastic alongside Fred Warner for the most part, but you know, it is going to be a transition to having uh Fred Warner no longer next to you for sure. You’ve got Brock Pury who’s still in the limited category. He’s doing more. He did more today. That’s cool. Uh Ben Bart who’s, you know, supposedly going to be a a has a good shot to play on Sunday, I believe, is the way that it’s phrased. I might have that somewhere later in uh in my notes. I can’t remember. Uh Sam Ouanu who is limited today. Uh I’ll take limited considering he was carded off the field and Jordan Elliot who’s also limited today. If we can get them ready to go by Friday, that would be fantastic. But the situation is pretty clear. The Niners have to do something. They have to do something. And I don’t mean you got a bunch of guys in the injury list, you have to go sign players and then guys get dropped from the team because we’ve seen what happens to players uh like Drew Moss, for example, who is no longer a 49er at the moment. Hopefully, he gets resigned to the practice squad. I like Drew Moss, but uh out of Colorado State, but the deal is if you keep signing players, you keep bringing in new players, you’re going to have to let other players go. That does that that can hurt you as well in the long term. So, we’ll see how these injuries shake out. But the 49ers are definitely not resting on their laurels. They went out there and got Keon White, as you know, which I’d say is a start. I don’t think it solves all of your problems. I think it’s a solid start. It’s a solid pickup. a guy who has a high high ceiling, which is great. Um, but also, you know, you’re getting a guy who’s coming in here who you’re hoping if everybody were healthy, is not on the field. So, you see what I’m saying there? So, I’ll say it’s a start. It’s a good start. We also know uh that the 49ers brought in Clean Ferrell today. We saw him on the field as well. Started 17 games in 2023 for the 49ers. You’ll remember him, of course, Cle, as they like to call him. uh but he uh only appeared in one game this season. That was week five uh for the Commanders. That’s it so far this season. Now, he was signed to the practice squad. So, if you’re looking at a guy who had a lot of 2023 experience, who did not make your team in 2024, uh and he’s got he’s a practice squad guy for the 49ers this year, you know, I’d say that’s a decent practice squad player. But this is not enough. These moves will not be the end of the story for the 49ers this trade window. That’s just my honest opinion and I’m not basing that off of gut. I’m basing that off what other people are saying. And this is where the conversation got really conflicting. I’m not going to say Jawan Jennings is on the block. Kyle Shenan today said he’s not on the block effectively in different words. However, there are reports out there. It starts with this one from Dan Graciano. Dan Graciano was confident the 49ers are not done making trades despite trading for Keon White yesterday. Said this. I know they’ve been calling around about pass rush help. They’ve got some Tuesday with White and they’ve been known to be active and creative at the deadline in past years. I’m feeling confident they’ll do something beyond what they’ve already done. One of the reports included the 49ers being interested in Trey Hendrickson. one of the few teams interested in Trey Hendrickson, which is an interesting thing because this Cincinnati Bengals defense, even with Trey Hendrickson, has been pretty bad. And, you know, they’re going to be moving on from him. So, there’s definitely an argument there for a team in the NFL going for him. The problem is the contract situation doesn’t really favor the 49ers. This is not the kind of move I see the 49ers making considering who they drafted and how they drafted them. Plus bringing in White. You got an extra player there. Not extra in total. Extra if everyone’s healthy, right? Uh so I don’t think the Niners are going in for Trey Hendrickson. I just don’t think that’s going to happen. But they’re still making calls. So we’ll have to wait and see on that. Now, Jeremy Fowler believes that Jawan Jennings could be on the block for the 49ers, saying, “Much is made of Jacobe Meyers, trade prospects out of Las Vegas, who just got healthy, by the way. I only know cuz I have him in my fantasy team.” Quick pause in the video for a message from this video sponsor, which I am stinking proud to tell you is Chomps. A while back, my wife bought me some Chomps. I’d never had it before and absolutely loved them. I got hooked on them immediately. Zero grams of sugar, 10 grams of protein, 100 calories, grass-fed beef. They’re they come in a variety of flavors. The the turkeyy’s really good, too. I I met someone yesterday who absolutely swears by the jalapeno. So, there’s something out there for everybody. Go give it a try. They’re perfect onthe-go snacks for me. It’s my favorite thing to bring to work. Sometimes I just eat them with my lunch. Sometimes I have them as a snack. And I absolutely love them. And as I’ve told you before, it’s crazy to me because I did not like beef steaks growing up. And these things made me believers. If you click the link in my description and use my promo code, my friends over at Chompser are happy to knock off 15% off your entire order. You can throw them in your gym bag, you can throw them in your car, you can throw them in your backpack, uh, like I do, or you can just leave them in your desk at work. They’re fantastic. I strongly encourage you to give them a try. One of them. But anyway, let’s not forget about Jawan Jennings, who also asked for a trade in the offseason over the lack of a new deal. Despite nearly 1,000 yards in 2024, Jennings is off to a slower start this season, ranking fifth on the 49ers and receiving 212 yards. Uh, both sides could use a fresh start. Now, man, here’s the situation with Jawan Jennings, you guys. Like, I’m never going to want to see Jawan Jennings traded away. He’s done so much for the team up to this point that I’m not going to look at what’s been a bad start to the season for Jawan. And it was a bad game this this weekend as well. So, I’m not trying to like let him off the hook, but Jan has been generally speaking a very very good blocker. He’s been a team player. He’s been a guy that you signed to a two-year extension not that long ago, just an off seasonason ago, and it felt very special. It felt like a great uh it felt like a great deal. He was ecstatic. The Niners were ecstatic. We ended up getting way more than we thought we were going to need to get out of Jawan Jennings last season because he ended up having to basically be your ex receiver for the majority of the season. All of that being said, we know Jawan Jennings also isn’t uh a world beater. He’s not a guy that’s going to be a B. He can’t be a Brennan Iayuk for your team. So that does put the 49ers and Jawan Jennings in a predicament. Jawan Jennings’s contract right now is, you know, incentive laden. He made his money and he wanted a new contract and all the 49ers would do for Jawan basically was give him the opportunity to earn more with incentives and I think the Niners played their hand well on that. I think they have the better end of that deal considering what Jawan Jennings has done so far and I don’t think there’s much of an argument there personally. You can disagree with me in the comments as always. That’s part of sports talk. I’m I’m good with that. The the thing that’s hard is while Joan Jennings might want to be traded, maybe that’s possible. I mean, he kind of Jeremy Fowler kind of hints at Joan Jennings wanted to be traded earlier, maybe he needs a fresh start, too. I think that might be the case. I think the 49ers cannot possibly get rid of Jawan Jennings right now. And the value they’re going to get for Jawan Jennings right now, I’m sorry to say, is not going to be the value they need to make up for a Trey Hendrickson kind of a deal. there. There’s not a situation in the world where I in my opinion where they trade I mean we’re talking about a three team trade because obviously the Bengals are not trading for a wide receiver. I just don’t see it I don’t see it making sense. Now could it make sense for Tibido and the Giants? Uh you know sure that’s possible. I guess that’s possible that the Giants see that benefit of a guy who can come in and do a job while Malik Neighbors is down. I guess if you want to make that kind of a statement. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t think the 49ers are trading Jawan Jennings. I think Jawan Jennings is going to have his prove it year and he’s going to do the best he can and he’s going to get what he gets on the other side. But it is interesting that Jawan Jennings, you know, he deleted his Instagram page. That was that wouldn’t be headline news all the time, but it is right now. And here’s what Kyle Shanahan said about the situation with Jawan Jennings. I’d be very surprised if Jawan wasn’t on our team throughout this year when he was being asked today about if the 49ers are interested in trading Jawan. You guys make of it what you want. I take Kyle at his word on this one. I listen to it. I’m not just reading the tweet. I listen to the whole thing on my drive home from work today. And my take on it based on what I heard Kyle Shanahan say, how he said it. It felt to me like the Niners are not interested in trading trading Dewan if any for any reason because they can’t give up another wide receiver and they definitely can’t give up a reliable wide receiver, right? You can make argument on paper if you want that well the Niners did, you know, bring in Demarcus Robinson and whatever, but I don’t I don’t think that’s a safe game to play. Personally, I would like to see Jawan Jennings play for the 49ers. I do not want to see him go anywhere. The guy’s been playing through injury all season long. Apparently, it’s been a lot worse. Kyle Shanahan talked about that in the in the press conference today, too, that the injury has been horrible all year. He’s been been really banged up. And he’s playing through it all because Jawan Jennings is a warrior. He’s a warrior, man. And we’ve seen him do it for the 49ers in the past. I don’t want to see him go. I want to see him when he does eventually leave the 49ers, which he will. I want to see him leave the 49ers the right way. I I don’t want to see him get traded out. I just don’t think that’s the move. Now, if he wants to be traded, I guess that changes things a little bit, but we’re four days away from the New York Giants. And the 49ers need to win this game so badly. The 49ers need to get things right. And even if they don’t win the game, like I still think a trade’s coming for me. I just don’t think it’s going to happen till after the Giants game. I I think that after the Giants game, you’re seeing that now the window is closing. Now the game has been played. Tibido is now on the table because he probably wouldn’t be on the table if you’re a Giants. If you’re the Giants right now, you’re probably like, “No, I’m gonna I’m gonna get him another week.” So, all in all, could the 49ers go and make a big move? Yeah. Will they? I don’t know. It seems to me, and this is where the conflicting report comes, you’ve got a lot of people speculating out there, and I’m not 100% sure how many of them really know exactly what’s going on. But what I do think is the 49ers will make a move. I think there’s one more move coming. I agree with Dan Graciano on that one. Um, will it be a trade that involves Jan Jennings going somewhere else? I don’t think so. I don’t think so, but we’ll see. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. As always, appreciate you guys and hope you guys have a fantastic rest of your Wednesday evening.

  1. JJ was interviewed as part of the 49ers Press Pass today and he was in good spirits, saying how great his teammates are and that it makes it fun to come to work and it felt genuine to me, so I don’t see him wanting to leave now. He’s third & Juan, I think we need and want him to the end of the season! Bethune on the other hand looked very down, I hope he can shake it off.

  2. Not a Super Bowl bound team this season?!? I sure hope that’s not Kyle’s mindset, not until we’re out of it. Improvements need to be made, but it’s possible and the entire organization better be trying to get there.

  3. In my humble opinion. Shannon created the mess. He hasn't addressed the problem of the O.L since he has been here. He has grinned QB and RB's into the ground he never thought to investigate why the team has so many injuries. He draws up plays without considering his sub par O.L. I lost trust in his judgment, letting Muney the kicker hang around who should have be released last year. Players who left the 49ers I guarantee are more productive and happier players

  4. I don't believe one bit Shanahan has gave up on this season and his looking ahead to next season. Teams that are 5-3 and one game outta first place don't just mail it in and make trades.

  5. The 49ers better and must win against the slobber mouth giants in NYc this week. They need this! If they lose, then they really suck and are a sorry excuse!

  6. What's up Nate hyped your video. I'm in the south so I don't catch your videos in the morning but love them . Stay Red and Gold I have switched from Lombardi and Chat sports to you being my favorite don't get me wrong I love those guys but you're the man bro. I like Brad Graham too I'm hoping to catch your next live.

  7. 8:28 So with me i love Jennings soo much and always hyped him up and loved 3rd and Juan! But man after the contract talks and the way hes been playing this year missing blocks dropping catches and then the argument with Kyle on the sidelines really pissed people off including me.. I just really hope he gets outta his rut because I do believe hes one of our biggest impact players and we need the old Juan Jennings back and hope he shows up on Sunday and shuts up all of our doubts 🫡
