🚨LEAKED🚨Saints Receiving Calls For Wide Receivers Per Adam Schefter & ESPN
[Music] We got wide receiver trade rumors here on Saints Now by Chat Sports. Adam Shfter with the latest trade buzz and some updates around a wide receiver heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Saints are expected to trade either Chris Ave or Rasheed Shahed with the latter being more likely. Let’s get straight into it here from Sheffy. We’ve got the New Orleans Saints sitting on a collection of wide receivers. He said this during the Pat McAfee show. I think at least one will be dealt. And if I had to bet, I would say Rasheed Shahed is the guy that interests most teams for his speed and his talent and the guy whose contract is up after this year who the Saints I think would be most willing to part with if the compensation was fair and right. What’s that compensation look like? We’ll tell you in a minute. But the latest on Rasheed Shahed potentially heading to Pittsburgh swapping in the black and gold for the black and yellow despite the addition of Saints legend MVS. He’s that edition’s being pending. This is from Zachary Smith, a guy who covers the Steelers, one of the uh very popular podcasters, one of the very popular uh Steelers reporters out there. The Steelers are still in the market for wide receiver help. They’ve been in constant communication with the Saints regarding Rasheed Shahid since the buy which for Pittsburgh was in week five if I have that correct and as uh they’ve also been interested for a long time in Jacobe Meyers but they’ve been in constant communication regarding Rasheed Shahid. I will tell you right now if there is a move that happens we will have you notified. So make sure you subscribe to the channel. The NFL trade deadline less than a week away. In my personal opinion the Saints will be making moves. I think there will be multiple moves made and if anything happens, we got you covered. So, turn on your notifications, subscribe because you don’t want to miss any updates. Now, we’re going to go to some more from Adam Shear on some Saints trade rumors and the compensation that New Orleans is wanting and desiring for number 22 services. New Orleans has said that they are not interested in trading away one of their wide receivers. That’s Chris Olive. There’s a lot of reports out there that they are are trying to extend him, but they believe and league sources believe Rasheed Shahed can be had for the right price. Now, that price according to reports is a third round pick. I’m going to be honest, and this is coming from me of all people. Y’all know how much I love Rasheed Shahid, but you take away who the player is, you turn a undrafted free agent into a third round pick, it’s pretty good. I’m not going to lie. That being said, it would suck to trade away Rashid, but a third round pick would make it a little bit easier of a pill to swallow. The teams that are aggressively pursuing wide receivers, we’ve talked about this before. I think the Patriots are also a team to monitor. I think the uh there’s a lot of other teams out there that could go and try to shop for wide receivers. wide receivers always on the move and for what it’s worth traditionally we feels like the trade deadline there’s a lot of smoke but there’s not a lot of fireworks that end up happening we’ve seen in the last 24 hours multiple trades already go down like a lot of them Patriots have made a few the Lions already just extended Aiden Hutchinson like there’s a lot of stuff happening very very quickly so I think that there will be moves aggressively being made up until the November 4th trade deadline and I think that these are all three teams that have been interested in Saints wide receivers for sure now I’ve put this out on Twitter and I do believe this to be true. I think what they’ll end up doing with Rasheed Shahid. They’re not going to trade him away right now. I I think what they’re going to do is give Tyler Shuck the entire week in one game because you’re only going to get one game unfortunately, but one game before the trade deadline where you get the entire starting squad. And let’s just say things go unbelievably well. Maybe the Saints are like, “No, no, no, no. We got to keep him around for Tyler Shuck’s development purposes. However, you are playing the Rams. I don’t expect it going very well. I think what they’ll do is go through this game and then make a decision. They want to move off of him. Should they keep him around? I think what they’ll do is give Tyler Shuck at least one game with the full starting core. But what would you do with Rasheed Shahed? Would you trade him? Would you keep him? I would like to keep him, but I can understand why some of y’all would say trade him. Now, I will tell you, I’ve mentally prepared myself to say goodbye to my sweet prince. It’s not something that I’m excited to do, but it’s something that I feel as if is inevitable. Um, this is kind of how I felt last year when it came to the Marshall and Latimore trade. It feels like, you know, you just kind of saw it coming and there was just so much smoke, there was so much chatter that, you know, when there’s smoke, there’s fire, you can’t necessarily ignore it. It just feels like that’s the same situation here. Like, it just makes sense. You’re going to get good compensation. He’s a player that you’re going to miss that can provide something good for another team. You want to pay him. There’s a lot of conversations, a lot of questions you have to answer. It just it feels like he’s out the door and and I don’t think it he wants to leave, but I think it’s just business is business. And I think you too should mentally prepare to say goodbye to Rasheed, the need for speed shahid, unfortunately. But I hope I’m wrong. I hope I’m wrong. Now, we’re going to talk more about some wide receiver trade rumors and why the New Orleans Saints are shopping these players. Here’s how it works. You just pick a couple of players, two or more stats, more or less, and boom, you make money. So, for Jaylen Phillips, I’m taking the more on his quarter of a sack. Like, I know Lamar Jackson’s hard to bring down. I know the Dolphins don’t get a lot of sacks, but some reason I felt pretty good about that one. Lamar Jackson, I’m going with the more on his longest rush and the less on his passing yards. I don’t know if the Ravens are really that good of a football team and I don’t really think that they’re going to do all that well. They have a ton of injuries just across the roster. So, this is what I’m rolling with. If you want to fade the pics, you want to tail them. Don’t care what you do. Just make sure it’s on prize picks. As we know, the New Orleans Saints are working on extending Chris Olive. And I don’t necessarily know what that price tag will be, but I do know that the New Orleans Saints don’t necessarily need to sprint to get this done. I know that there is the potential that they could offload Chris Olive and keep Rashi Shahi, but it really feels like they are going to keep Olive and trade Shahed because I think that Olive is the player that they feel more confident in being a long-term part of the offense. And you know, Chris Olive did talk about uh the talks in terms of the extension. The reports out there are that they have been working on it. We’ve been having conversations since the beginning of the year. He even said that that’s that’s all I’m conf excuse me that’s all I’m confident about. Clear communication. I see what’s going on. We’re on the same page. And he said all this after the loss to the Bears when he had a pretty great game. Two touchdowns, 98 yards. And you know, I am curious to see what that extension price tag is. The Saints picked up his fifth year option. So, you don’t have to go and sprint to get there right now. You can extend him later on and maybe that price goes up. But I could also see why both parties would want to get it done sooner rather than later. Now, another trade candidate that’s been floated out there that’s been mentioned by Ian Raport and Adam Shfter is Brandon Cooks. And it would be crazy if he got traded, I believe it’d be five times in his 12-year career. I mean, that’s like got to be a record if it’s not. Um, it would be absolutely wild to see him get traded again, especially for a second time by New Orleans. Uh I I don’t necessarily think it would be a horrible idea to trade him, but if you’re wanting to maximize your value, Olve or Shahed are the two players that you’re going to get the most in return from. But if you do trade one of those players, I mean, your wide receiver room is already thin and it gets that much thinner. And quite literally and both figuratively like you lose some of your speed, you lose a dynamic weapon in Olve or Shahed, more likely Shahed, but you also lose another body, meaning you would only have four players on the wide receiver depth chart. Obviously, you would elevate players. You obviously you would go and check out other teams practice squads. You’d go and see uh who’s out there in free agency, kick the tires on some dudes. But I mean there there is risk into in trading a wide receiver especially Rasheed Shahed. In 2025 the receiving leaders for New Orleans are as follows. Olve Shahed and Jawan Johnson with Shahed being the most productive in yards per catch over 11 yards per grab for him. I do think that you have to consider the development of the quarterback position and you have to consider how you evolve and open up Kell Moore’s offense when you do trade these players because if you do that you will be limited in terms of the weapons and the things that you can do because it is hard to replace a Rashid Shahid or a Chris Ave right now. Sure you can do it in the draft. Sure you can do it in the offseason but right here right now that is kind of tough to do. In MVS you could go and replace it with him but he’s probably going up to Pittsburgh. So I I will say like when it comes to trading Rasheed Shahid, he is the most explosive player on this team. Like that’s that’s not something that I think anybody disagrees with. Um this offense struggles to create explosive plays. So trading explosive players is a risky move. However, it’s something that I can understand why they would want to do it. Although I disagree that you should trade Shahed, I I just think that a wide receiver trade is something that’s inevitably going to happen. you don’t really have a lot of other value across the roster. Wide receivers typically get good return. I mean, you have Carl Granderson you could offload. You have Pete Warner you could offload, but you you kind of run out of options because Cam Jordan isn’t going anywhere. Demario Davis likely isn’t going anywhere. I would be shocked if he is. Alvin Chimera has already said he isn’t going anywhere. So, you know, the next people up are Olave and Shahed and Granderson and Wernern. And I think that you’re going to get better value for Shahed or Olve than the latter of the two people I mentioned. Now, trading a wide receiver will open up opportunities for Devon and Mason Tipton. And for both of these players, specifically Devon Vele, I feel like it’s hard to get them more opportunities than they already have without an injury or without a trade. Like unless a spot opens up, it’s kind of hard to sit here and put these guys on the field and give them more reps and take Rasheed Shah Heat off the field for Devon Ble and take Brandon Cook like it’s just kind of hard to do that and you could make it work of course, but I think if you do trade one of those receivers again, Rasheed Shahed more than likely of the two, you do give Devon Vele more chances and you do emerge his role and you do increase his usage. And I think that that’s something that we would see a lot of. And for what it’s worth, maybe it’s a crazy concept. You could make a sort of a deep threat and and do all the things that he does great and have the Vonvele kind of operate across the middle and doing all the things that’ll get a lot of hits and a lot of traffic. So all in all, I think that this is a wild time and it’s an unfortunate time because we have to say goodbye to some fan favorites. But, you know, I do think the Saints are going to be making a few trades. Now, let me know how many trades you think they will make. I think it’s gonna be I wouldn’t be surprised if two one at the bare minimum, but I think two like I could see Pete Warner getting traded to for what it’s worth. Shaheed contributed a lot in the Tampa game…. 3 points
Shaheed don’t make sense to trade. Olave may cost you too much to keep. His family had problems with the Saints last year, he has drops this year.
A 3rd rounder for Shaheed ? No way. He is at least worth a second and a third.
Olave, I’d take a second rounder for. You might not be able to sign anyway. Then he is a free agent. Pay or let him walk ? That’s not a option
It almost seems like people want to fire sale the team . I’d say get rid of who isn’t productive. Rattler has been productive. He seems to be the only one that wants to play, that owns up for his problems and wants to get better. Haven’t heard that out of anyone on the team. I’m not really satisfied with what I’m seeing out of the head coach and play caller.
I would love to see Harbor in black and gold next year
This is the DUMBEST SHIT I've been hearing!!! Olave is one concussion away from his career possibly being over and they want to extend him?!? Plus, HE'S DEFINITELY NOT A #1WR!!!
Don’t f*** with shaheed
Even a 4th round pick for Shaheed would be a good. This is the last year of his contract and the Saints won't be competitive for several years.
I don't have to mentally prepare myself for Shaheed getting traded. Get him out of New Orleans ASAP
3 points against Tampa. Every player is tradable
Olave should be cheap with the drops and the concussions
Receivers don't develop quarterbacks. How much did they assist with Rattler's development?
Would really love to see vele Tipton and Palmer on the field more
Keep
Just wait and see. If Shaheed gets a decent QB throwing to him, he's gonna blow up.
Saints have a history of getting rid of their best and keeping their worst players. 🤢
I think it need to be Chris need to go Shaheed is a better WR
Keep #22
I think steelers need to pay up way more than that 2nd and 3rd or 2nd and a player
Shaheed just needs a good quarterback and he will go off guaranteed then saints are going to lose on this trade honestly I would keep shaheed
Keep
What about Devaugn Vele? He is 6’5 they forgot about him!!!
