The Cowboys send in a 2026 second round pick, a 2027 first round pick, and Dlineman Mazy Smith to the Jets in exchange for Williams who leads all defensive lineman and run stop percentage this season. Very disruptive. I mean, for us, you know, there’s certain calls you make. You know, you’re aware when he’s in the game because he’s just so disruptive. So, we had alerting calls when he was out of the game. we had to set protections based on him and uh you know you guys you guys see it you see the talent um but I like I love the play style too just the way the guy plays the way the guy runs the football and then uh from what I’ve heard from adub just the type of young man he is I think he’ll fit in great in this locker room and um I said oh okay this is what Jerry was talking about and and I think yesterday that might have been all that Jerry was talking out and over Wilson and maybe he would have brought in a Bradley Charge. But after Monday night, I heard that crowd booing Monday night. I had never heard the crowd booing before in this stadium. And the way you just let a o and five team over the last five games won the first two win 0 and5 over the last five. You just the way you just let that team handle you if you’re the Dallas Cowboys. Even if Jerry if Jerry had Logan Wilson already on the table and the deal done you you know and then you go and look like that you know that wasn’t enough. I don’t know. I would like to find out when they first started talking to the Jets but but I’m glad he did because getting Quinnon Williams getting Quinnon Williams. That was a good gift. That was a good gift. And I But I tell you how my mind it works. It flashes. The couple first thing I thought about I’m going to be real with you guys because I was on to go back on Stephen A’s show. Uh we were talking about it. I was talking with some of the fans and I told them this is what it’s like now just cuz I’m a fan now and as a fan I got to ride it out and I didn’t know you guys had to go through this until I retired and then learned that I had to ride it out these peaks and valleys that you got to endure with no control over anything. And somebody asked Michael, how do you handle that? I said I’m like any other person. I get so mad on Sunday I divorce him. I’m done with this. I got to get my heart out of this. This is not healthy. This is not healthy. But by Wednesday night, right before the Thursday game because they’ll start telling you all the possibilities. This team I have is this team win, this team win, this team, you can get back in and hunt this. So you divorce them Sunday night. I’m done. I can’t do it no more. I’m out of here. Irreconcilable differences. And then by Wednesday night, Thursday morning, you back at the altar saying, “I do. I do. We got another shot. I’m pulling again. I’m pulling again.” That’s the that that’s what you live like. And here we go again after that disastrous performance last night on defense. Yes. but made more disastrous because the offense didn’t do anything. Also, you know, the offense had what? Seven points. I mean, they had seven points at at the first scoring. That was that’s from special teams. Offense went a whole game put 10 points. This is offense that was scoring 40 points at home. Oh my god. And you do that against an Arizona team. You wait. So, you know. Yeah. Yeah. So, all things went bad Monday night. I told you guys that. And I said this was going to be a horrible week. And then today’s news came down about Quinnon Williams and Logan Wilson. And I know Logan Wilson came from a defense that’s that’s about worse than Dallas defense, but that’s okay. I’ll take them us a great move. I don’t care what people say. This is a great move. Jerry can work things out with Quinnon Williams in his mind better than he can and for the calorie set purposes with Michael Parsons. Quinnon Williams also is that inside force. Dude, don’t play. Don’t play. Now, I love Michael and it’s very, very few people as talented as Michael, but of course, we had issues with the run. Quinnon Williams have been able to stop that. He’s all pro inside. That’s a tough thing cuz that’s where all the meat smashed together inside. So, this was a great pickup. I know. Now, let me give you the numbers cuz people talk about this. Quinnon Williams signed his extension a four-year extension worth 96 million. 96 million July of 2023. So, that’s July 2023. He played it was extension. So, I’d imagine he had a year on. So they probably got him for another two years or or if he plays well the rest of this year and then he plays well the year after that, Jerry will have to extend him. But they’re getting him around that 25 $25 million a year as opposed to the 45 or 44 45 46 certainly he had him at 41 already number that that Michael wanted. So, so Jerry had to he had to cuz he was people were looking at him mighty funny about how he has messed this thing up by trading Michael and that defense looking like that. That’s Matt Evaf and all of those guys who deserves a lot of credit for how bad this thing has looked has really kind of slipped under the radar because everybody’s blaming Jerry because of the Michael Parson’s trade. They don’t even throw enough at the defensive coordinator. You know what I mean? So Jerry did a great job here getting Quinnon Williams. I I I still I’m still all emotionally shook like I don’t know what because it it the movie that comes to my mind, boys. I love it, man. When Michael Corleó says it, every time I think I’m out, they pull me back in. Quinnon Williams to pull me back in and start hoping again. Oh, wait a minute now. If he can shut this down and do that, maybe we work on this, work on that. This is what this thing does. This what it does. I had just left it for dead. Like, no way. And then just like that. Wow. I’m so confused. I’m so confused. The thing I’m not confused about is the talent. and the personality this dude is. I tell you guys, I sat with his family at his draft. We’re at some restaurant. I don’t remember the name of it. That’s wild of me right there, man. We were having dinner somewhere. him and his family, you know, he was getting in New York. Oh my god, I do remember that. And now he’s coming to be a Dallas Cowboy. Can’t wait to see him. I can’t wait to ask him if he remembers that cuz he had all his family with him and they were making me take pictures with everybody. I don’t know if they told me they were Cowboy fans, man. But I remember them tell Wait a minute now. I’m trying to tell y’all something here now cuz this dude here’s a person. Boy, you see see I’m talking myself happy. I’m starting to talk myself happy. Boy, wait a minute. Wait a minute. I remember I do remember them talking about the family or somebody in the family being a big Cowboy fan. Michael, man, can you come take pictures with the family? Oh my god. Oh my god. See, that stuff matters. That stuff matters. And it’s a good dude. You know, you you I know people throwing shades between there shades shade being thrown between Jerry and Michael and and and some of the people and people have already said I said that before about Michael in the locker room and everything. You guys have heard that. You guys have heard that back from guys in the locker room. So, I don’t know. You know, I thought it was just a battle between him and Demarcus Lawrence, but I guess I I may not be as informed as I thought with that, but all and I’m not talking about Michael cuz that that that that deal’s gone. All I am is talking about Quinnon Williams. And I’m telling you, this dude right here is one of them jovial dudes, loving dudes, a fun dude to be around. Reminds me. Oh my god. Michael reminds me of the late great Jerome Brown. Now I got to I got to see what happens with this on the football field. But if you’re asking me, can one person make that big of a difference on defense? Yeah. Yeah. You still have to get, you know, to the quarterback. That’s still the number one thing. But it makes it more difficult to get to a more easy to get to a quarterback if first of all the quarterback doesn’t have anybody else that can run because that middle is being clogged up. And then second of all, if you got to put two dudes in the middle of the field or where the big boy is to block him. Now look at all that space you got to get around those other dudes. If you’re the faster dudes running around on the outside and let me give you this trifecta on the ho e on all things and certainly one thing that we were suffering from anything anytime you are being attacked and if you want To survive the attack, you must protect things up the middle. optimal concept is so so deep that if I had a strong intentions to take you out, there are no way that your body has given you any way to protect even your middle. You know, if I you know That middle right down there. Y’all know how painful that is. If anybody touches that middle down there, they kick that middle. Oh, I hear the pain right here. In the middle of you right here, nothing you can do. I can’t lift enough weights to protect me here cuz there’s nothing protecting that there. And if somebody jam jam, I know who’s up in my brain. There’s nothing I can do to protect that. You see what I’m saying? Even in the way our bodies built, you destroy me when you get access to the middle of me. That works certainly with me and with all defenses everywhere and in every game because the shortest way to your destination is a straight line. And a straight line says through the middle. You dig what I’m saying? So that’s why you got to strengthen that middle over all things. And today the Dallas Cowboys just strengthened the middle. Michael Kleó and Michael Irvin. Every time I think I’m out, they pull me back in. They pull me back in. I got to figure this one out now. I just got to see what it look like. Okay. Yeah. I told y’all this stuff will make you go mad, then glad, then sad, then mad, then glad.
