I believe that Fox will finish out his career here in San Antonio

What are everyone thought? Do y’all believe he finishes his career here ?

That depends on one guy. Dylan Harper. But forget about it for now. He’ll be here for a while.
No I don’t. Not that he can’t have a long run with us. But he is a starting point guard in his prime who has made all-nba. Closest player the Spurs have had that matches that description is Tony Parker, and didn’t finish his career with the Spurs. Then a player who was a star who chose San Antonio… that would be like LaMarcus Aldridge. He also didn’t finish his career with the Spurs. Nothing about Fox or his situation in SA makes me think he will become a ride or die member of the Spurs. And there is nothing wrong with that.
He’s here for a while. Everything out of his mouth currently makes me think Kings fans were just bitter about his personality.
But I don’t think he finishes out his career here. Players of his caliber are always gonna be in demand around the league and it’ll boil down to how much the Spurs can offer when all their guys exit their rookie contracts.
We have the 1-2 guard pairing of the future. Fox is here until Harper is ready. Will be here to run point for at least a cpl playoff runs which is why you paid for him.
Everything is a question mark with the amount of stars we have on rookie contracts. We can’t pay everyone
With 3 rings or so.
Lmao I swear both sides of the Fox fence are just as silly
Harper plays a good game: “see we don’t need Fox trade him!”
Fox plays one game: “you trade Fox guys are stupid he is finishing his career in SA!”
Everyone just relax and enjoy the season damn
Who knows but you can’t pay 4 or more all-star+ caliber players. Someone has to go when Wemby, Castle and Harper’s second contracts start to kick in.
I don’t see it happening simply for 1st/2nd apron reasons unless the CBA gets changed in a few years to be less punishing. Like this isn’t any shade at Fox at all, the penalties for being a second apron team for years are absurdly brutal. We know Wemby’s gonna get a supermax because he’s Wemby, and there’s just not enough money to pay Wemby, Fox, and a lot of our other guys once they’re no longer on rookie contracts.
Also, it sounds crazy to say but it’s the truth: another reason Fox won’t be here forever is that Spurs’ owner Peter Holt legitimately doesn’t have the wealth to pay a heavy Luxury tax repeatedly. Holt is worth somewhere in the 200 million to 400 million range, and some of the big luxury tax bills we’ve seen are 150 million dollars plus. A small Luxury tax bill is fine, but GSW/Phoenix level of bills are literally out of the question fort the Spurs.
I dont think so. When Harper Wemby and Castle are all in their prime, Fox will be out of his and will likely be used an added backup firepower by another team
I def want him for the full contract and if Harper can make that Harden leap then good
– Fox 27
– Wemby 21
– Castle 21
– Harper 19
– Fox is not on the timeline and should stay until Harper is ready.
Fox was on the Kings they went 292-344(2017-2025) while he was there, made the playoffs once and lost in first round. The spurs gave him a 4-year, $229 million maximum contract extension up until 2029-2030. He’s 27 now, and will be 31/32 when the contract is up. I think the Spurs will start to win again like with the big 3 very soon, Wemby is a world class talent and Fox openly said its part of why he came here.
Going back to the money thing, its very possible that the Spurs star players follow the TD approach, take less to pay more players to keep the ‘ship window open. So I think he’ll stay, but for now, lets enjoy the journey that these young fellas are taking us on. We get to witness a golden opportunity.
It depends on one guy, it’s not castle or harper or even fox. That guy is wemby, if he ascends to goat level then the front office must become obsessed with getting him the help he needs. Right now that guy is fox, who knows tomorrow.
Don’t you wish that evil on me Ricky Bobby
That would be ideal. Lets add some more banners too
