400 and he starts on defense in this game with young Elias Patterson on his left. Big test tonight. Front half of the ice. Here’s a lead pass. Patterson in. Shoots off the arm of Blackwood. The puck of the play as Quinn Hughes sprung Elias Patterson on a nice pass up ice. Shake it out a little bit. He’s going to limp his way to the bench now. Hunched over after that hit in the neutral zone from Evander Kane. Marin on the right wing. Sends one in front. Nuskin dishes off. They score. Nathan McKinn stretches his point streak to nine games as he opens the scoring just shy of the seven minutee mark here in Vancouver. The entry is too much room allowed for Kale Mar. Now that opens up four avalanche into the rush and Nuskin is going to freeze everybody in the middle of the ice. Heronic thinks that there’s a shot coming. The dish goes to McKinnon and wide open net. Connor Bernard for the league lead in points after Bernard had another big game today. There’s a shot stop rebound. Baines couldn’t get it to go after the initial save by Blackwood off Lenus Carlson whiffed on that one. Shanked it into the corner. McKinnon for a car. Sherwood blocked the pass, but the ABS regained control. Olson across. McKinnon shoots. He scores. Second of the period for Nathan McKinnon. The ABS count on the power play to clearing the zone and the last thing the ABS need is a second opportunity. Right here is where Sherwood gets it. It hits his feet but Macar finds the puck first. Olivesson who signed as a free agent from Vegas slides this. It goes right through the feet of Ratu. And McKinnon just does not need much room does he? I mean it’s not much. It’s just one little push from the outside of the circle into puts one on goal. Blackwood’s got his right pad on that now. Loose puck in front. Shoots wide. Besser in front. Now he centers for Couldn’t jam it home. Patterson wins the face off. Garland takes a pass on the near side down to Besser. Back up to Garland. Puts one in front and Patterson hit the post. Hughes at the left point. Spins away from Kelly. Quinn Hughes fakes the shot. Goes the other way. Now risan and a blocker saved by Blackwood. 5 seconds to own the power play. Hughes in front off his skate and Blackwood stop Carlson. Kane gets the puck. Throws it in front and the Conucks can’t get a stick on it. Penalty’s over. Mansions out of the box. Hughes turning with the puck. Nushkin trying to stay with him. Here’s Kane. Heronic towards the goal of T off Kate’s glove. Jammed in. Nas Carlson with his first of the season. [Music] finally rewarded and it’s a one-goal game. So much right with this for the Canucks. Hughes back after a brilliant third period yesterday. He’s all over the ice here to create the chance. Watch the hands on Carlson. The puck goes below the goal line through his own feet and jams it up into the top of the net. Looking to tie it on the power play. Garland down to Besser. Cuts in front of the shot. Stopped. Rebound. Patterson jamming away. Couldn’t get it past Blackwood who covers in the crease. Abs control the puck. Taves goes off the boards and out. Now they have a chance for a break. Drury’s in. Drury shoots. Stopped by Lanin who came out to challenge as he’s now moved past him for third on the alltime goals list. Basser picks his way to center. Back hands one wide to the goal. Sherwood after the puck. He’s taken out by Lechen as he tried to get in on the four check. Now he gets the puck right in front. Backhander scores. Number 10. He was impeded, but it’s effort that prevent or creates the goal. Because he kept his legs moving. He ends up getting knocked over and tied up by Devon Tate. Taves goes back to the puck. Lechin’s borderline interfered with him, but because Sherwood’s effort keeps his legs moving. He’s rewarded as the puck comes right back to him. This one slides right through Blackwood’s feet. That broke the stick of Heronic. But here comes Kane two-on-one with Garland. The Vander Kane going to go right to the net with the backhander and he missed on the short side. Sherwood moves the puck ahead. Basser into the middle. Hughes shoots. Stopped by Blackwood who came out to challenge as Hughes. Bridley has moved into Nous’s spot with McKinnon and Lechinan as Jared Bedar looks for a little pop. He changed him up in the second period. So we’re underway in the third. Two two tie. And here’s Brinley sending one ahead for McKinnon. Garland diving out. lost his stick making that play. Centering pass just out of the reach of Lechan. So Garland trying to defend here without his stick as the pass comes back to Brent Burns. Puts one in front. Tipped in. Arturi Lechen as Burns put it on the tape and Lechan put it under the bar. 28 seconds into the third period to put Colorado on top without a stick and now you can’t defend the pass. She can’t get it into a shot lane as Burns snaps this right on the tape of Lechan and he’s inside of Hughes who can’t get his stick tied up as Burns heads up and the deflection by Lechenan goes into the top corner pass Kevin Lankin and now the Conucks after all that good work in the second periods have never trailed. There’s one. Oh, that one off Nelson Skate and that might be Blackwood’s best save of the game. And here comes Ross Colton in on the left wing. Shoots. Knocked away by Kevin Lanken. Puck centered and another save by Lankin. This one off Brock Nelson. Kept in the blue line by Heronic. Here’s Ratu shooting stopped. Rebound to breast. Can’t beat Blackwood. Puck still loose and Nas intercepts and clears. Lushkin sends one around. The Conucks are going to chase after that. And here comes Okconor with Sherwood. Drew O’ Conor shoots. He scores. A short-handed goal for Drew O’ Conor and he’s tied the game at three. Nuskin rings this around the boards. Okconor’s got to deal with a rolling puck the whole way down the ice. This thing never settles down. And it’s an erratic release off the stick of O’ Conor because the puck’s on its edge. You see a good look at it there. It’s wobbling and it’s a perfect shot. O’ Conor has found his game. This is the player the Canucks are looking for. Big, fast, straight ahead. Get it as McKinnon feeds back to Mar. Here’s Nate McKinnon and a sharp angle shot. They score on the rebound. Linen with his second of the period. A lunging save by Kevin Lankin. But then it was Lchinan who beat him. And it’s Avalanche back on top by one. This puck movement is sharp and crisp. The one-time by Nas is stopped by Lchinan in the or stopped by Lanin and the rebound pops right out. Tarturi Lechen and as you mentioned his second and the Conucks will have to dig deep again. Third time in his career he’s done what you just chronicled. There’s a save by Kucks control off the draw looking to tie this up with just over three minutes remaining in the third. Besser fake the pass to Hughes. Now he puts side of the net. Tipped in by Jake De Bruss. [Music] The power play cashes in. De Brusk has his fourth power play goal of the year. Goals in backto back nights. 28 faceoffs for Patterson tonight. He wins the draw. He’s played a monster game. He and Hughes will corral the puck and Besser’s looking for another option. Garland will leave the bumper and go to the corner. When he leaves, that draws Burns. As soon as he leaves, Burns leaves. That opens up this pass lane and Jake de Brusk sweetly tips it up over the glove of McKenzie Black made the save on the short side. Here’s Taves. Mar shoots Lincoln and fought it off. Two seconds left. ABS pressing late. Mar shoots Lincoln and the save and the horn sounds. This game will go to overtime. Thanks. Are perfect 4-0 in games beyond 60 minutes so far this year. The ABS are 0 and5. Worry about those things, but that’s over now as De Brunt comes on to replace Garland. Brinley rushes him with a wrist shot. Lank in the save. Brinley on the rebound scores. Canucks couldn’t move the puck out of harm’s way and Gavin Brinley followed his own rebound to the net. put it home at 68 seconds of overtime. The the second game back after he missed a week with a concussion. It was a press tonight with Bridley. He drew a penalty on Valander that led to the second Lechanin goal, he gets his first overtime goal here as Lankin has the shot. Hit him and it bounces out in front of him. He’s trying to get to the rebound, but before he can get to it, Brinley’s there first before Besser can knock it away. [Music]

Nathan MacKinnon had a massive night, scoring a pair of goals and adding three assists, including helping set up Gavin Brindley’s first career OT-winner to lead the Colorado Avalanche past the Vancouver Canucks 5-4.

  1. Интересно все три гола Avalanche пропустила когда на площадке был Макар…Что то не очень он как защитник помог команде….It's interesting that Avalanche conceded all three goals when Makar was on the court… He didn't really help the team as a defender…

  2. They mentioned Wow, that Pettersson was so good on faceoffs tonight, 62% which is Great (and an anomaly), but a good 3rd line center can do that, same thing for goes for 3 goals, 8 assissts in 17 games. Last year Teddy Blueger had 8 goals, 18 assists, he makes 1.8m, Petey makes 11.6m. Over 5 seasons Blueger's faceoff % is about 50%, for Pettersson the average is 45%, total bust of a player for 11.6 million, and the contract is UNTRADEABLE. BUY HIM OUT!!! 4 shots on goal…🤨for the amount we pay him and his own embarrassment he should try for 20! Shots a game!

  3. Lankinen would probably want that OT goal back, needs to work on his rebound control. Special teams also need major work. Aside from that, this was a really entertaining game from start to finish.

  4. What an effort from the canucks first respect for taking the number one team to OT unlike the coilers over in
Deadmonton that got blown out 9-1 in case any of you forgot

  5. Fun one, that's for sure.

Is it just me or did Shorthouse say 2 seconds left with about 4.5 being shown? I wonder if that was desync or a mistake on his part (hoping for the latter).

  6. This was one of the best games I’ve watched all year. Both teams focused and hardworking. All 9 goals were earned with skill and effort. This would make a great West Final 👍

  7. I love how sherwood is always super pumped when his teammate scores a goal. That's the kind of excitement I would love to see a captain of a hockey team do for its teammates.
