The Pelicans Are Even Worse Than You Think…
Have you ever heard of a trade so bad, so disastrous that the general manager of the other team wasn’t sure if there was a mistake being made? Well, that’s just another day at the office for Joe Dumar and the New Orleans Pelicans because not only are they currently the worst team in the entire NBA, they are the worst team in the NBA without their future unprotected firstround pick cuz they decided it would be a good idea to trade an unprotected first round pick in next year’s draft so they could move up 10 spots and select Derek Queen. And like I said, this trade was so ridiculous that Atlanta’s general manager could not believe it. It got to the point where the Hawks general manager on Cecella called Joe Dumar directly to confirm for himself. The Hawks waited nervously for Dumar to confirm, hoping he would not realize what was going on and walk the trade back. Pelicans fans, I am sorry because in a league that has the Kings, the Suns, the Wizards, the Nets, nothing can compare to the incompetence of this franchise. Because six games into the season, after trading away an unprotected first round pick with the expectation of being a playoff team, guess who is the only winless team in the NBA? And oh, that player who they spent all of their assets to trade up for is barely getting minutes outside of garbage time. Luckily enough, 50% of Pelican’s games are garbage time because they are that bad. I just want everyone to realize for a second. There were people suggesting the Brooklyn Nets could be the worst team ever. Joe Sai, the Brooklyn Nets owner, went on record and said this. We have one first round pick in 2026 and we hope to get a good pick. So, you can predict what kind of strategy we will use for this season. They openly told the rest of the league that they are tanking. Despite this, and despite the Pelicans taking the opposite approach, the Pelicans are somehow worse than the Brooklyn Nets. A team that does not want to win versus a team that gave up everything to win. And not only is this team 0 and6, they have been absolutely pathetic. Disgusting. We are six games into the season and they have three losses of 30 points or more. 50% of their games they have lost by over 30 points. And you know what is normally a good sign of a team not caring, of a team not showing effort? It’s when they allow another team to go on a 29-2 run. Yes, that really happened because after trailing by only six points at halftime to the Denver Nuggets, the Pelicans decided one half of basketball was good enough. We got our 20 minutes of cardio in. Let’s take the next half off and get ready for well get ready for the off season because Denver proceeded to score 29 of the next 31 points to start the second half. And just to give you an idea, this was the last bucket of that 24 and 0 run. Alvarado drives into the paint. He throws up a brick. Jordan Paul decides to run towards the ball and leave Jamal Mari, the best shooter on the Nuggets, wide open as Jookic finds him for the three. Oh, and just to make things even worse, literally the possession before. It was a brick from Paul and it was almost the same type of play where Joic threw it ahead to Payton Watson who caught it and found Murray wide open for three. And the craziest part is I don’t need to cherrypick or look through clips to find the Pelicans defense looking like a junior varsity team because the possession before. Look at how easy this was as Brown slips the screen. What is that defense? Hello. Is the defense there? He’s actually so open he misses the layup. But luckily uh not a single Pel player wants to compete for the rebound as he taps it in. Guys, those were three possessions. three consecutive buckets and I think you can um see the level of defense, the level of effort being played with by the Pelicans. And I know a lot of people are pointing the finger at Willie Green. And honestly, if he’s not fired by the time this video is out, I’d be shocked. But then again, should we really be shocked at anything the Pelicans do? But this is also a team full of players who take no accountability, don’t play with effort on a nightly basis, and are just happy going out there and hunting shots. And what is also so sad about this is whilst people talk about New Orleans not being a basketball city, even entering this season in which no one expected anything from the team, even after these fans have put up with years of Zion after trading Brandon Ingram, they still entered the year showing love and bringing energy to this team. Because whenever this team has given them a semblance of hope, they have shown out and they have brought energy. and on the spin and the reverse. Unfortunately, this team pretty much never gives this fan base a semblance of hope. And if things couldn’t get any worse, what you guys might not know is in addition to trading away an unprotected first round pick during this year’s draft, that wasn’t the only trade the Pels made. They made another trade that hasn’t exactly aged well. Trading away the Pacers unprotected first round pick in next year’s draft so they could receive the 23rd overall pick in last year’s draft. And now we all know the Pacers are on track to be one of the worst teams in the league as well. So, if Joe Dumar just sat still, if the Pelicans mascot ran the franchise and made zero moves, they would be looking at potentially having two top five picks in what many consider a generational draft this year, but instead he decided to trade both of those away to get Derek Queen, who like I said isn’t getting played outside of garbage type. And this trade was a little bit unlucky considering no one knew Tyrese Hallebertden would terries Achilles. But I think sometimes you make your own luck. And when it comes to the Pelicans and every single move they make, which is the wrong move every single time, you feel like they kind of make their own luck. Like when they traded away Dyson Daniels alongside two first round picks for Dejante Murray. like when they traded away CJ McCullum for Jordan Pool, which doesn’t seem like a terrible trade, but why are you getting an extra year of salary on your books for a player that just isn’t really a good fit for your team? For a player that is already coming off the bench for a rookie and you are paying $30 million a year over the next 2 years. What can you even say about this Pelicans franchise? Oh, I know what you can also say. Because in that game against Denver, which I talked about, you know what the Pelicans did that was uh quite funny, they started DeAndre Jordan over Eve’s Missy. I’m sorry. Can we just let that sink in? I know it was against Nicola Joic and maybe Willie Green thought Jordan had some insider knowledge that could help him. Spoiler alert, it didn’t help because he got fried immediately. But can you imagine signing a 40-year-old washed veteran and within a week you were starting him over your first round pick from last year? A first round pick who actually looked like one of the only bright spots for the Pels last year, getting replaced in the starting lineup by a 40-year-old DeAndre Jordan who basically didn’t have a team just a week ago. And this is what makes the Pelican situation by far the worst in the league is because they made this decision because they thought it could help them win. It was a terrible decision, but that’s the idea. What Joe Dumar has effectively done is he has invested all of his assets into Jeremiah Fears and Derek Queen, but at the same time, he put his team in a win now situation. So instead of playing those guys at EES Missy 35 minutes a night and then tanking the season getting a top- end pick, they have to sit these guys in hopes that it’s going to help them win. And well, right now they are failing at both developing Derek Queen and winning. So realistically, they are in the worst of worst situations. And Pelicans fans, all I can say is I’m sorry. I would like to say the future will be better, but um it it probably won’t be. Yeah. If you want to see more NBA content, subscribe to the channel, drop a like. Uh have a great day. Bye.

Pelicans media wants the head coach fired. Even though the GM created the biggest team of scrubs in the NBA.
When you expect nothing and STILL get disappointed
Let's all STOP making and watching videos about Zion!!! I been done with his game years ago
Dumars is so delusional. Like to move 10 picks up, give FRP without even TOP3 protection. Like didn't he have any sane person in the room to tell him better.
“NOP”is fitting because are the pelican ever gonna be good? NOP…
Prob DEI
Brooklyn is like WTF man I’m trying to tank and get the worst record
They also got rid of the Pacers pick during the NBA finals.. as if they couldn't wait a few days. Remember, the Pacers could easily have a top 10 pick too. That's a likely top 5 and likely top 10 pick. They could trade Zion and completely rebuilt within a year. OOPS. OOOOOOOPS!!!!!
To be fair the Nets are 0-6 as well
Trade Fears for JA, and create the cultural superteam of JA and Zion, and maybe trade for Russell Westbrook. Can we get Demarcus Cousins out from retirement. That team would be so sick!!!!!!!
I cannot believe that Wemby and the 5-0 Spurs laid an egg against the pathetic Suns. The would not have happened under Popovich.
Spurs will give Devin Vassell and the two Hawks picks in 2026 and 2027 to the Pels for Trey Murphy III.
NOLA has signed Always Disabled, traded him for spare change, Zion Wendys'son and lost all their picks moving up for Queen – You can blame Zion for his diet and lack of conditioning but it's 100% on the front office for the choices they make. Look at Miami, Boston, even Chicago as of late. Their draft picks show talent, benches show depth. That's why you invest in your scouting team, THEY are the ones who bring the undiscovered gems to the front office's attention
NOLA's been battling DC and Brooklyn for worst of the worst for YEARS now
That's a team that doesn't want to play for their head coach anymore: Willie Green.
Nice.
How do Nico Harisson and Joe Dumars still have their jobs? Clearly, they are employed because of their reltions, not their competance.
Every 3rd qtr is unbearable. I don't know how they can fix this. I thought last year was bad.. I'm still reppin regardless, but damn this is rough. Not even gonna front. It's hard to care about a team that doesn't care about themselves.
Prior to become the Pels they were the Hornets. Everything related to that is cursed 🤣
You wanna know how a team showing no effort looks like? It's a team with Jordan Poole in it…
Joe dumars more like joe dumbass am i right
Hawks got great draft asset and are playing good without TY, might be interesting
Dumars, just like his Pistons running buddy Isiah ….. great NBA players…. terrible NBA GM's
Don't forget at last year's trade deadline he traded Ingram to the raptor for Kelly Olynyk and a bag chips
It so hilarious that dudes name is Dumas.
