Definitely still want them to win … But the same ol' year after year is just so predictable. Can't even get mad since it's just expected now.

  1. With this core, go in with low expectations and hope for the best

If the playoff record of this core hasn’t taught you that, then you haven’t watched enough leafs game

There’s still a chance Matthews can start carrying this team and help Nylander (At least in the regular season)

  2. Stopped watching the games.. I used to be in for watching 90% of the games, and watch the highlights for the ones missed. Now I don’t GAF any more. I now understand when people say “Same old Leafs”

  3. This is only the second game I’ve watched this season. And I used to watch this team RELIGIOUSLY.

  4. You guys are really letting one game change your mood huh? Why not look at it this way? If you can get heavily outshot and only lose by one goal. You are a pretty good team!

  5. Yeah, I’m kind of over this. I’ll be taking back more of my Saturday nights this winter, and I’ll check in sometime in March.

  6. Everyone is drained from the World Series. Watching a Leafs game is like being in a library compared to the intensity of the Jay’s run. These early regular season games mean fuck all. Hopefully they wake up sometime in the new year and make something happen.

  7. It started with last year for me where I found I wasn’t paying much attention to the games even when I watched. This year I’m pretty apathetic, shrugged when they blew the lead tonight because of course. I don’t expect anything different

  8. I’ve felt this way about the leafs for years. Surprisingly in that game 7 against Florida it just didn’t really affect me at all. I was pissed of course that they put up such a shit effort. But it’s almost expected with this team.

The Bluejays WS game 7 actually affected me more. There’s no telling how often they will get to the World Series again and what if it’s another 30+ years. That’s what sucked the most. That they were soooooo close and then couldn’t do it.

  9. It’s basically the same team as last year minus Marner. What possible reason do I have to believe they’re going to do any better? I usually watch most of their games in a season, but this year, I can’t be bothered.

  10. I’m so used to the Leafs disappointing me that I couldn’t get overly upset about the Jays losing Game 7 the way they did.

  11. i dont care anymore, i think im in denia to the idea that the team has already peaked a few seasons ago and is slowly recessing towards rebuild now, and if we dont just hug it and do a proper rebuild we will end up like calgary

  12. A very real regression this year, I really don’t care to experience it.

Super jealous of teams like SJ & Chicago, they are looking like we did 8 years ago.

  13. Honestly find a new team. It helps. I’ve been watching the ducks for the last 10 years as my 2nd and it’s nice to have another option. Watching their rebuild and now taking a step has been fun.

It will also expose you to just how fucking boring and bland the entire leafs organization is.

  14. I love my leafs man. But I’m just not invested in this year. If I’m being totally honest, I’m waiting for baseball to come back. World series made me obsessed.

I just hope the leafs can pull up their socks and get their defence going for once.

  15. Been watching since the Ballard years so it’s all water under the bridge.

“Learn to enjoy losing” a la depp in fear & loathing in Las Vegas.

I’m enjoying the Robertson redemption arc this season. He is putting it all on the line, appreciate his hustle. Less boneheaded decision making this year.

  16. Me and my buddy were saying yesterday there is absolutely no buzz with this team. We need a fresh start.

  17. This is what I expected from them this season, so I’m not really frustrated with them. Berube made no adjustments to the offensive systems, the defense is just as bad but isn’t being bailed out by goaltending, and the roster got worse because they somehow took the Marner money and didn’t add much of any useful depth. Picking up safe bottom 6 options while watching Florida win with a game changing 3rd line in playoffs was mind boggling, and it won’t get any better. I don’t trust either Berube or Treliving to improve things here at this point.

  18. I only have it in me once a season to watch a team go that far then loose, and this time it was used for the jays. I’m feel super meh now

  19. it’s the league more than its the leafs for me. Just watched the dirtiest team I’ve ever seen win a cup playing with a different set of rules than anyone else. This league has looked rigged since they brought gambling into it and I can’t enjoy it the same anymore. Reffing has started to influence games more than I ever remember and the calls have been more inconsistent than they’ve ever been. If the Leafs are great it will still come down to who management wants to win, who vegas has to pay out the least amount of money for and I just don’t fucking care anymore. Plus sportsnet sucks ass dick and balls and I want them to go bankrupt.

  20. I broke when they collapsed against the Habs in 2021…

Been a Leafs fan my whole life, and will be a Leafs fan til the day I croak, but something died or got buried real deep after that series against the Habs.

I’m not amped to watch regular season games any more, and I only start feeling some of that nervous energy I always used to have for every single game if we move on to the 2nd round.

Now, even the Leafs playing in the 2nd round has me jaded because they seem so uninspired and effortless(the bad kind) on the ice compared to whoever they’re facing lol.

  21. First year I’ve stopped giving a shit entirely. I’m usually invested watching each game but it’s the same old story as years prior. Also tired of the player interviews these guys lack passion and don’t give a shit.

  22. I just don’t care anymore. The fans got their wish and kicked Marner and his 100 points out of town. It is fucking hilarious to read everyone saying they are going to figure it out and go on a heater. They will be lucky to make a wildcard spot if they keep it up. I don’t think the other teams are going to fall off and start losing. What do I know, I’m just a doomer.

  23. When the leafs start playing like a team with a little intensity I’ll be back.

This team is just collecting a paycheck.

  24. No feelings either way. Don’t even follow the standings or team statistics. The team’s performance may get mentioned on my radio station during the sports portion of the news. No emotional investment.

  25. Between the ridiculous prices to even watch hockey and the mediocrity we’ve been seeing I’m honestly over it at this point. If they win cool, if not I’m expecting it and I’m not bothered

  26. Can you imagine watching this team limp in to the playoffs then lose in game 7 in the first round???  Wild prediction right?!?

  27. I used to only watch the 6 minute games if they win…. this year… I’ve watched two of those games…

Jays was heartbreaking enough… I’m gonna watch cat videos instead I think..
