Okay, there won’t be much Giants for me to talk about here, but let’s do a quick recap of the Arizona Fall Stars Game, which ended up in an exciting 5-4 win for the AL prospects…but long after Giant Parks Harber left the game.

The Arizona Fall League is known for being an offensively charged prospect showcase, but for 2025, the Fall Stars game spent eight innings defined by pitching before four total runs were scored in the 9th, ending in a blown save and then a walkoff win, as the AL prospects won 5-4.

The only Giants prospect in the game was Parks Harber, who started at first base and hit third for the NL lineup.  However, Harber went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the game as the NL was held quiet at the start of the game, managing just one hit and two walks in the game’s first four innings.

Harber only played the first five innings, as many of the Fall Stars Game position starters were replaced at that point.

The game went into the final inning with a 4-1 advantage for the AL behind that strong pitching.  The 9th led off with an error, and after a walk put two runners on, and Brave’s outfielder Patrick Clohisy had an RBI single, leading to another error, and then Cardinals outfielder Miguel Ugueto tied the score with a 2-run single.  However, the NL would be held there, and the game went to the bottom of the 9th tied.

In the bottom of the 9th, the AL prospects had two walks around a single to load the bases with no outs, which allowed Chicago White Sox infielder Sam Antonacci to hit a sacrifice fly to knock in the game-winning run.

The game’s MVP award went to Los Angeles Angels outfielder Raudi Rodriguez, as he went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.

On Monday, the League will move into its final week, on the usual off-day.  Each team has three games left before the playoffs begin on Thursday, with three rounds of one game playoffs.  All six teams will make the playoffs, as the top two teams will get a first round bye.  The bottom four teams will play one game, with the winners advancing to the Semifinal on Friday, and then the Championship on Saturday.

The Scottsdale Scorpions lead the league currently at 18-8 (.692), with the Surprise Saguaros (16-8) being a full game behind them with three games to play.  They have both clinched the first round byes, as the rest are all under .500.
