We would also still have DJ Moore. 😭. I can't even imagine Moore, Tet, and Maye on the same offense (though who knows what our team would look like if we didnt make the Bears trade).

I was a big Bryce Truther for a while, but I don't know that I can stay on that wagon any longer. I feel like our only hope now is a FA QB next year or a very lucky pick. Neither are very confidence inspiring considering how expensive QBs are, and how hit or miss rookie QBs are.

  1. why do people always assume we would have had the top picks in the draft if we never traded for bryce. we would have gone 8-9 with darnold or something.

  2. No chance we would’ve still drafted Tet but the thought of waiting a year, not giving up any picks, and having our choice between Caleb/Jayden/Drake infuriates me.

  3. Bryce isn’t the answer here, but quarterback play isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison across the league. We can’t assume that just because a QB succeeds elsewhere, they’ll have the same results in our system. Success depends on having the right scheme, coaching, and surrounding talent.

I’d rather see us mirror the 49ers’ model—they’ve reached two Super Bowls in the last five years with Jimmy Garoppolo and Brock Purdy, and are staying competitive now with Mac Jones. I’m not saying an elite quarterback doesn’t matter—it absolutely does—but my longing is building a great scheme and a strong roster first.

  4. I’m happy for Drake Maye, but this isn’t a competition. There was never a guarantee we’d draft him, be in position to get him, or even develop him the right way. Y’all need to keep your eyes forward, spaceships don’t come with rearview mirrors.

  5. Well to be fair, Maye is on the stacked Patriots with an elite line, elite receivers and TE’s, and an all pro running back. Also he has the best coach in the league, who only left Tennessee because he liked colder weather.

Maye would look like shit here. It looks like he has talent, but you’d be mistaken. It’s all manufactured by his elite team lifting him up.

If he was here, he’d be forced to dump down on 3rd and 18, and he’d be coached to throw from his tippy toes…

  6. Drake is him. Gonna be a huge boon to the UNC football program for years to come. He loves UNC, and will be making 50-60 million plus soon, just off football money.

  7. I’d love to see the two standing next to each other. Maye is huge compared to Bryce and has the arm to match. Amazing how a good rookie QB can do so well with a team that was bad last year. Of course they added some guys who could catch the ball too.

  8. F***. Stop those Discussions.

If Bryce balls out, we have our guy, if not, we have a first round QB in 2027. That’s it.

And all those arguments mean nothing with football Terrorist Scott Fitterer.

I would’t be suprised if he drafted Brock Osweiler in 2024 and with the first round pick 2025 Jerry Jones as WR

  9. I mean, it’s more than just not getting Drake, it’s trading up into a QB draft class that was known to be substandard and fans at the time were begging the team not to trade into, but they lacked patience, convinced that they were one franchise QB away from being contenders.

We see lots of people demanding the team make the same mistake this year, too.

  10. Maye deserves to make Cams superman celly his brand. Sucks, but he’s earned it more (and endorsed by Cam)

  11. It’s killing me. I went to High school with Mark Maye here in Charlotte. He should be here, now.

  12. I wanted to wait for him: it was a no brainer but people can’t understand delayed gratification for long term success.

  13. Saw this unfolding when he was at Carolina. I was more than disappointed after Bryce was drafted, and the following season I knew the patriots were taking Maye. I firmly believe this guy will collect many accolades and rings. I wish it wasn’t with the patriots though.

  14. Why would you even bring this up?!?!? Whoa whoa, tiger got out of the cage on that one, my apologies OP. You are not to blame for my frustration this morning.

  15. He would have also been shit here. Not making the trade for Bryce would have kept draft picks at least.

  16. A similar meme from an alternate universe: “How it feels watching a Carolina boy lose his potential because Carolina just wouldn’t let him go”

  17. And we could have drafted every great player in the past 10 years, if we only had a time machine.

  18. I say this every Sunday…. DM was bred to be a Carolina QB and we emptied the bank for someone we will have to drop bc no one will want him… now the patriots wont take three 1st round picks for Maye. Steve Wilkes was right about mayfield. He was more concerned with keeping Mccaffery than baker. Imagine we have Maye, Mccaffery, DJ Moore, and TMac… we’d win the division and have a healthy 10 years ahead of us.
