It’s like a magic trick. I see him do it time and time again but I can’t figure out how.
There’s a positive feedback loop here. The more he forces, the more defensive coaches reinforce the need for care, which can make some defenders overthink it. Which leads to more missed tackles on Caleb.
It’s awesome to see as a Bears fan. I fully thought he was dead to rights 3 or 4 times yesterday and before I knew it he had escaped and was setting up a throw
Seeing Dart right there, I gotta say I was impressed with that kid. Gotta remember he didn’t take the field till week 3 I think.
Caleb is looking more and more like the guy from college every game. He might retire with one of the best highlight reels ever.
Me telling my friend how Caleb dodged that tackle the next day at work
“He swung his body, to the SIDE”
I would prefer that number to be lower by happenstance of him not getting pressured so much, but yes the sack avoidance has vastly improved from his rookie year
He has at least 2 of these a game where I think he waited too long and a guy gets a hand or two on him, but so far he keeps making it work.
I think there might be some regression at some point, but he legitimately seems like he has a good feel for where defenders are at and how long he can wait.
Does that make him elite to the haters?
He went from the most sacked qb in the league to the best in the league at sack avoidance. Actually absurd development
Honestly I now watch the play enfold every time and I never get that anxious or unsettling feeling he’s about to be sacked, and the play is over, I don’t even flinch now, and just expect him to do his magician impression on the defense, spin out out of harms way and continue the play. It’s incredible how he’s changed the way it works watching him every play. He’s almost always in control of the moment that has no control over.
*Yeeeeeeeeeeesh*
I saw a post that said he was harder to catch than a greased up deaf guy! 😂😂😂
I remember one DE on either the Bengals or the Ravens talk about what makes Caleb so tough is that he doesn’t have an escape pattern. Most QBs have an escape pattern but it doesn’t seem like Caleb does so it makes it harder for the DE to get a rhythm on which way Caleb will bail.
pretty sure caleb had at least 17 yesterday
He avoided like 10 sacks in the 4th quarter alone yesterday. His elusiveness is truly astounding, and it was against a very good group of pass rushers.
