AD deserves ZERO blame. He has said all of the right thing, be the leader the Mavs need, and has attempted to get back from injury as quickly as possible.
This is the unfortunate reality, though, and a MAJOR factor in why you never do this trade – your primary return in the trade for your generational superstar is available less than 33% of the time…. (Oh and you fired Casey Smith, the best trainer in the league, so he’s not here to save you).

I agree, generally speaking, he deserves no blame. But he did not do himself any favors by showing up to camp out of shape
“Blah blah blah blah culture.”
I hate Nico so much. What kind of moron does not see that this would be the case? Called it the night the trade happened and it’s not like I’m some advanced basketball mind. We’re never even going to be able to trade this guy.
He deserves blame. He’s not free of blame. No one is.
Smh. Y’all just don’t see the vision
I don’t blame the players. None of them asked for this, none of them asked for trades in or out of Dallas/LA and none of them have quit since they got here. AD is injury prone, that’s not something he can entirely control especially when the medical staff is a circus. Coop didn’t ask to be drafted into this hell sphere and is a kid being asked to now save a franchise that didn’t need saving 8 months ago. The owners signed off on the trade, the GM executed the trade and built the roster and the coach is grasping at straws to make any of it stable. Thats where the blame goes
Maybe Nico thought the “street clothes” nickname referred to his stylistic prowess? Should have done us a favor and stayed at Nike…
He ran his mouth saying he’s here now and showed up to this season out of shape with eye surgery so he deserved the blame there but the blame of the trade. (Who the heck schedule eye surgery the month before preseason). He probably didn’t know the trade was happening till it happened like Luka. I feel bad these players are sometimes not being treated as a person and just a moving commodity in business.
The entire premise of it all still just makes me chuckle
Like forget the stupid draft pick and Max Christie
How on earth do you trade Luka for AD. It’s just so fucking hilariously dumb.
Believe it or not, it’s Luka’s fault
This trade was so bad that almost all of Reddit correctly predicted the outcome. That NEVER happens
Don’t listen to the Nico/Dumont boot lickers. This needs to continue to be a Nico hate sub. I want to keep seeing Luka updates and I want to continue to keep track of AD’s missed time. Fuck Nico, fuck the Adelsons. And fuck Adam Silver because I’m still not convinced he wasn’t involved in some way
AD is honestly not at fault. Neither is Flagg. Neither is Luka. They were thrust into situations they weren’t ready for. Detachment of retina is a serious and emergency condition to begin with. So the weight gain might make sense. His body is unfortunately not in his control and is breaking down, compounded by the shitshow that is the Mavs training and health department. Rushed him before while Luka didn’t even play for many games and even then was on minute restriction for some of them. Same injury Mavs wanted him back in Jan from.
But he does look disinterested in being the alpha dog. Maybe that’s just him. Maybe that’s the change in scenery. Maybe it’s the locker room. If he isn’t motivated, it’ll get hella worse (if that is possible).
Fuck AD. I dont give a shit if he said all the right things the fact is he’s a made of glass street clothes player and will go down as that crappy return Luka got traded for. He will never be embraced or loved here and this image is the exact reason why. It’s just the reality of the situation whether he likes it or not
Nice thanks nico /s
AD came into camp overweight with ticking time bombs for legs. He deserves some blame.
Fucking brutal. What a stupid fucking trade.
This was so obviously going to happen. Fire Nico.
Leader ?? How exactly?
FIRE NICO
His nickname is “Street Clothes”.
It’s not like this was hard to see coming
I honestly feel bad for AD. I know he wants to play and help the team.
You can’t lead from the bench. He may be viewed as a “generational superstar” as a Laker, but he’s just Street Clothes here. How much basketball have we seen from him that’s comparable to Luka’s level? 2 quarters?
I blame HHH
For years Colin Cowherd said the Lakers should trade injury prone Anthony Davis. I just can’t believe Nico would trade Luka for him.
