  2. I just have to look at ownership and wonder what exactly they were expecting when they signed off on the trade. It’s for that reason that firing the whole FO won’t change anything. It’s Colorado Rockies level of ownership incompetence at this juncture

  5. I mean it’s nice I guess but the toothpaste is out of the tube. He already traded Luka and 4 of their next 5 first rounders. 

    It’s liking firing the guy you put in charge of building your house after he set it on fire and salted the earth. 

  6. they used the foundational piece/face of the franchise as a trade chip to build around 32 yr old kyrie and this was before they had flagg. think about this for a second.

  7. Even if we assume that ownership agrees with Nico’s thesis – Luka isn’t good on defense and has conditioning issues – it’s still a terrible process. Trading a superstar by only getting offers from a single team is malpractice. It prevented there being media fallout before the trade, sure, but you are actively making your future worse by not getting better offers.

    No part of any of this made any sense – particularly after Luka dragged Dallas to the finals.

  12. First of all, never believe anything MacMahon says. He’s a type of “reporter” who will make a story out of something that he knows will sell without any sources or inside knowledge on the matter. He has done that multiple times in the past, Doncic even called him out one time at the press conference. He’s a sleaze. That being said. I hope that this manages to stir even more drama and put more pressure on the Mavs front office and ownership. They deserve every bit of this. The fans deserve to see Harrison get fired, even though it won’t change anything, the scar will stay forever. Open wound even. The sad part is Dumond and his family is there to stay. This clueless championship games ownership who approved this trade and will probably try to make themselfes look like they had nothing to do with it. This franchise will always be remembered by the worst trade in the sport history. Well at least Cuban got his billions.

  21. He’ll be done by the end of the week, I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t last the day. The knives are out and the writing is on the wall, the Mavs are only prolonging the suffering if they delay.

  36. Firing him from the Mavs FO is almost too good, that gets him off the hook entirely. Dude is going to have a nice salary either on or off the books with the Lakers after once dismissed. Honestly he should be forbidden from doing any business or being involved with any NBA team; especially the Lakers. A better outcome would be to put his ass in jail, what he did is absolutely criminal

  39. Why would anyone fire anyone until Kyrie comes back and they see what they have? They made the trade, at least see what it leads to. I swear people just love these headlines that’s the only reason it’s still talked about.
