Since Demeco and CJ got here in 2023 Nico has averaged 8 targets per game. No one, except apparently the coaching staff, is surprised by what trying to get him the ball more does.
One of my favorite observations about this sub is how seemingly split it is on Nico needing to be targeted more versus him being targeted too much.
I don’t want to force feed the ball to Collins, but I hope we can scheme him open like we did yesterday more often.
If Darnold can feed JSN like he does, I don’t see why we can’t either.
Mills overtargeted him so much that they left Higgins WIDE OPEN in the end zone late in the game, which Mills didn’t see.
CJ would’ve worked the progressions and found him for sure.
Make them over commit and open up targets for everyone else! He’s an elite WR, and just yesterday he made multiple plays to remind everyone.
During the 49ers game when he was out, we were praising them for spreading the ball around in Nico’s absence. This sub is in shambles constantly.
