4. Honestly, I feel like this press conference did more to worry me about this choice than to reassure me. Like he’s a great guy, that’s pretty obvious, but we need a Great manager, not a great guy right now.

   Edit: Not a popular opinion it seems… but Id love to be proven wrong by Stammen. I won’t fully judge till he manages a game.

13. I actually played golf with Craig Stammen! It was part of the “favorite things” charity deal the Padres did in 2019. Craig donated his time and a round a golf to the highest bidder and I won. So Craig, myself and a buddy of my choosing played a round at San Diego Country Club.

17. Let’s see how things go. There isn’t much runway for him. The expectations are clear. Even the lowest of bars is nabbing a WC slot and not getting run in 3 games on the road.

    Meanwhile the team has a bunch of holes to fill if they are serious about contending.

    It’s a huge off-season for our Padres.
