He delivers a one-time and just beats the goender who’s still looking at the puck. The Flint have taken a one- nothing lead here past the midway mark of the opening frame. [Applause] The Blue Jackets needed that goal to even things up here in the first. Yeah, they certainly did. And I had a coach who once said, you know, it’s about winning the shift now and not worrying about what happened or what was going to happen here, James. And I feel like they’ve taken that approach right now. You can see it in their game. You can see it in their urgency. And they get rewarded. Moves it up through the middle from the right. Columbus gains a hold of possession. The Blue Jackets played along the boards. Tries to feed it over to Frost. Referee signals penalty coming up here with a delayed call. Whistle blown, stopping the play. Frost’s been flagged for crosschecking. The cross check is not a hockey play. Now the Blue Jackets get their man advantage unit out there for the first time tonight. First power play opportunity of the game. You know, they’ve worked on this in practice. Excellent work by the PK. The Flames are making the most of their opportunities here in this opening frame with the early lead. Yeah, it’s been back and forth play here and they’ve competed. Well, after you give up a shorty on a power play, the next shift is critically important. Finding a way to get back and dictate pace. coaching staff knows that they need to make Oh, what a save. Oh, that doesn’t swing momentum in your favor. I don’t know what will, James. That’s a last stitch effort to make a play. What a beautiful save. Play continues here, but this crowd still buzzing after what we saw. What a stop that was. Oh, yeah. And they’re saying thank you to the goalender right now, James. They’re still on their feet. They’re electric right now. And really, it’s a nice feeling. Why? Because it doesn’t always go this way. So when you have it, you embrace it. And tries to make a diagonal pass to Hubo. Bats out of midair using great hand eye coordination. Wolves really impressed me tonight, James. Just look at that last sequence and that desperation save. Unbelievable. And it was just spectacular, James. When you’re out competing your opponent, you’re dialed in. You’re so athletic. You make those kind of saves [Applause] here in the late going of the period. It’s a 2-1 game. [Applause] Puck is dropped and we are back underway. Balls cross the line and clean the zone. through the middle of the ice into the attacking zone. And that was stopped. It was all in James and that athleticism in the world to get to that front that was on display. Wow, James, was he ever dialed in in that sequence of saves. I mean, one, two, multiple saves here. His got to help him out. Oh, he kind of thought it, but he keeps it out. [Music] All right, time to get a clean sheet of ice here as period number one comes to an end. If you wear your vintage jersey to our next game, you’ll receive a coupon for it. [Applause] Opening face off here in this second period is about set to go. The second stanza is underway as the puck is dropped. Let’s go. All right, Cheryl, we’ve seen already one period played in this one. How do you assess this? This is a timely hit here, James. He knows they’re down. They’re trailing in this one, but they are not out of it. So, if everyone can elicit some sort of response on their next shift, they can rally the troops and they can get back in this thing. [Applause] Columbus is down, but certainly not out.
