How Packers, Rams, Lions and Eagles shape the NFC’s dominance πŸ’ͺ🏻 | FOX NFL Sunday

All right. Positively or negatively, give me a storyline that you didn’t see coming at the start of the season that you’re talking about right now. That the Colts, the Colts. I, I, you know, the Colts get Daniel Jones. They make Daniel Jones the starter. I think we all had some, you know, some hangover from his career with the Giants. It didn’t go as well as he wanted. Then he goes to Minnesota and sits as a backup, and all of a sudden he’s at the Colts. And at one point, you could say Daniel Jones look like an Offensive Player of the Year. So I think the Colts and Daniel I’m going to go with Sam Darnold. He had a great year in Minnesota last year. At the end of the year, their offensive line fell apart. I don’t think any quarterback would have been able to function at the end of the season for Minnesota. He’s really lighting it up, really good. Really. Cowboys trading Michael Parson. That’s kind of a shocker, and I think Mike Vra, Vrabel, the job he’s doing in New England, great job. Matthew Stafford is on fire right now. 9 touchdowns in his last 2 games. So Jules, I want to start with you. Will the Rams stay hot and get their revenge from that week 5 loss to the 49ers in overtime? Well, what do you guys think? Are the 49ers gonna win? How about the Rams? Oh, that sounded more like. I’m going with the Rams. They’re firing on all cylinders right now. And if you watch Sean McVeigh and Matthew Stafford right now on offense, they’re making it look easy. He’s had, uh, uh, he’s had a 125%, uh, completion percentage going for the last couple of weeks. They got the second-best defense right now, points per game. They got 3rd most in sacks, and I just think the next man up mentality for the Niners, it runs out, especially in a divisional game. This is, you know, I know movies let guys sweep other teams, but this ain’t a Disney movie. This ain’t a Disney movie. Charles, what do you think? You like the Niners or the Rams? I like the Niners, man. I, I like the Niners. Just because I feel like the Niners, man, they’re they’re tough and they’re gritty, and I always talk about Kyle Shanahan. I’ve been giving him a lot of love this year. He gets this team ready to play, man. I mean, they have a league-high 28 games missed by week one starters and still they’re able to compete, still undefeated in the division, and he’s 11-6 against um uh. McVeigh, right, so he’s 11 assists against them. They’re at home, so I believe that the Niners today, they pull out a tough, gritty win today. Still have Mac Jones in as their quarterback. He’s 5-2 as a starter, and I got McCaffrey leading the league in yards from the scrimmage. As long as I got McCaffrey, and then add in Bryan Robinson, who’s given tough yardage, I like the Niners. It’s on one line. Way to go, Rock. I appreciate that. Hey, let’s talk a little football modern day. We know that Justin Jefferson of the Vikings is one of the great receivers in this league, but he spent his career giving back to the military community with gifts, including Super Bowl tickets. And let us say hello to Allison Williams. Allison, Jefferson may be a gift giver from a football standpoint, though his gift is receiving with numbers unlike we’ve ever seen before to start a career. Yeah, Kurt, over 8000 career receiving yards for Jefferson in his six NFL seasons, and what’s crazy is he’s done that playing with eight different starting quarterbacks. Jefferson told me when I sat down with him this week it has been a challenge trying to develop that connection with so many different QBs, but he’s excited about the chemistry developing between him and second-year quarterback JJ McCarthy, two guys who channeled their alter egos when they. Take the field. Justin has jets, but you know who doesn’t need an alter ego is our guy Rob Gronkowski. He is always in Gronk mode and always showing up in the craziest ways to recognize our military. Gronk, what are you literally up to in this Veterans Day special? Yes, Allison Williams, great job with Justin Jefferson. That was amazing. But we’re here with the veterans. They’re bringing the energy today. Bringing the juice just like Justin Jefferson does on every single drive and every single time the ball is thrown his way. But it’s about the Baltimore Ravens defense today. It’s not the Baltimore Ravens defense that we’ve seen in the last, you know, the 1st 5 games of the season. The Baltimore Ravens defense is not what we expected them to be the last 3 games that they played, only allowing 13 points. You know, points per game. And then, um, Ravens defensive coordinator, Zach Moore, Zach Moore was asked about Justin Jefferson. Hey, he got to mix it up. You can’t let him get in a rhythm. You can’t let him wreck the game and how are they going to do that? They’re going to spin the dial with all their calls. But with Justin Jefferson being so great, he’s still going to produce at whatever. Level and whatever’s thrown at them. This Vikings team’s gotten back to 500 and Howie, last week they beat Detroit, and now Detroit takes on a Washington team that’s losing four in a row, but Detroit’s got to find a way. I know it’s been injuries, but to straighten out of the offensive line. Yeah, the, the rag now retirement really, I, I think sent them in a kind of a spiral in terms of the interior of the offensive line. This offense runs through play-action pass. When you’re averaging 3.2 yards of carry, when, when Jared Goff turns his back to that defense, he has to know that when he turns around, he has time to set his feet. Last week, that didn’t happen. They need to get protection. Deckers, he’s playing with a knee and a shoulder. Sewell’s playing with a bad shoulder. They lose mahogany, he broke his leg. I’ll tell you what, the head coach, I love him. He says, we got the dudes. I’m not worried about it. I, I, I trust him. All right, Michael, the Giants’ 10-game losing streak on the road today against the Bears. Well, you know, when we, we won the Super Bowl, we set the record 11 straight games won on the road. And if you’re going to be successful in this league, you have to win games on the road, 10 straight for the Giants. One fan has Enough. They, they paid a plane to fly to the stadium pregame with a message that, Mr. Mara, enough is enough, clean house. I, I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do. I think they brought in some great draft picks. That guy right there, Jackson Dart, being one of them. Injuries have not hurt her, helped him on offense. But on the other end for the Bears, this guy here, Caleb Williams, he is finally that Ben Johnson effect, putting points up, putting yards up. And getting wins. Real, real simple. Kraft going out at tight end for Green Bay is gonna hurt Jordan Love tremendously. All right, a quick game in the NFC. Bear, uh, excuse me, the Packers hosting the Eagles. Big game. Yeah, this is gonna be something to get. They can’t turn the ball up. They only had 3 going into last week’s game, and they had 2, like I said, they have got to be able to take care of the ball. Jordan Loved 2 of the Worst interceptions I’ve ever seen. I don’t know what the world he was looking at. The NFC is looking strong as we cross into the second half of the regular season. Through 9 weeks, the North is the first division since 1970 where every team has 500 or better in back to back seasons. Across the conference, you take a look, 9 teams have already had at least 5 wins, and that makes you wonder, will a 10-win team actually be left on the outside of the playoffs looking in at the end of the year? And I’ll start with the big picture question. Who’s the best team in the NFC right now? Uh, well, go ahead, TB. I’m gonna say Rams. I love the Rams. I love the way they’re playing. Matthew Stafford right now would be with Taylor, the running back for the Colts, would be my runner for MVP in the league, but I, right now the Rams are impressive. That was the first one on my mind. But you can’t, I mean, you gotta knock the champ off, Philly, Philly, who do you guys say? Hey, hey, who are you saying? Who’s the best team in the NFC? We got Rams. We got Niners. We got. Hey, let’s look at both conferences. If the playoffs were to start today, the Kansas City Chiefs would not even be in the playoffs. Yet according to Vegas, they’re the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl. Make this make sense. Well, it makes sense because this is the team that started out slow, had injuries, had guys out on suspension, got everybody back, playing as well as better than anyone else, and you know. Kansas City, once they make the playoffs, no matter what you say, if they get in, they have another gear because they’ve been there many times recently, and I just think that’s what makes them the favorite in a winner going home, you know, I, they’re, they’re pretty tough to beat. Yeah, I was surprised they didn’t make a, make a move for a halfback. Listen, they still have 4 divisional games left, 2 against Denver, and Denver’s playing poorly right now in the last 2 weeks and offense, but I, I think the Chiefs can look, I love the Chiefs. I’m not about to get them an annual or your, your wife loved the Chiefs with me. You have to love the Chiefs. Exactly. Look forward here to the second half of the season. Give me one team you say, uh oh, look out for them. Minnesota, Minnesota, Minnesota. I, I, I think Seattle, Seattle just got a lot better. Seattle. All right guys, don’t choose a quarterback. Give me the Offensive Player of the Year right now. No quarterbacks. JSN, who Jackson Smith and Jonathan Taylor Smith and Jonathan Taylor. 2 Taylors. OK. Who’d you say? I said Taylor’s a running back. Jonathan Taylor, 3 very, very good choices. You know what, the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles. Nobody mentioned them. They play the Packers tomorrow night. For more on that game, why don’t we bring in Carrissa Thompson and the Fox NFL kickoffs? Hey, I mentioned them, Kurt. Thank you so much. Yes, you did. You did, Michael. And I also see some Packers fans. Of course it’s Packer fans. Packers. The Packers traveled everywhere, baby. So let’s talk to our resident Packer here in Charles Woods. Hey, Charles, we’ve seen good Packers, we’ve seen bad Packers. Who’s going to show up tomorrow night against the Eagles? Yeah, I’m a little worried about my Packers, uh, uh, tomorrow night going against the Eagles, dealing with some tough injuries, Tucker raft. We know that the kind of connection that him and Jordan Love had over the, over, over the course of this season. And then you wonder, can Matthew Golden come in and give us some production, but then he’s on the injury report, he’s questionable. Van Ness is out, and you’re going against a team that’s coming off of a bye, right? Siriani’s 4-0 coming off of by, these guys are healthy. Uh, Howie Roseman always retools this team. You’re bringing in, bring in Jalen Jalen Phillips, and then you have Jayire Alexander, Michael Carter, so he’s retooled this team, and they’re going to be ready to come into land. I hate to see it, but I think that my Packers are going to go down. Hurt’s great. One interception on the year. Who do you like tomorrow? I’m a little worried about the Packers as well because they haven’t been able to run the football like they notoriously do during the season. Also, their, their intermediate pass game, it just seems so hard. They, they, they struggle with it like those 20 to. 16 yard in cuts when they need it. It just seems like their, their, their pass games always a vertical pass game. Vic Vangio getting 3 new toys on defense. I expect a good defensive performance from those quiet, quiet Philadelphia Eagles right now. It’s been quiet lately about them, and, and as they’ve been off, man, but still, there’s always something about them, as Terry pointed out, no Tucker Kraft, so a big loss for them on that side of the ball.

  1. If my 49ers win today, it's gonna be time to start respecting us, regardless how many injuries we have. If we get to the playoffs considering all the injuries we have, Kyle Shanahan should win coach of the year

  2. If Lafleur escapes from the predictable play-calling asylum…Pack should start grooving on offense and making things tough for whomever is lining up against them. STAY VANILLA MATT and you'll remain VANILLA. GoPackGo!!!! GForce all the way!
