Mike Vrabel, New England Patriots ‘capable’ of making Super Bowl LX | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC

Come on. Come on. Here we go. Here we go. Bring that. Let’s go. Hey, listen to me. The great thing about this league is there’s one waiting for us. There is another one waiting for us. And the most important one is the next one. You earned the right to be tired. You earned the right to be tired tonight. Okay, boys. Here we go. Break it down. Hey, bring it, Phil. Bring it, Phil. Hey, enjoy this one, man. Hey, love y’all boys. Hey, quick turn around, man. Get healthy. Get back on. We got re for Thursday night, man. Pass on me. Pass 3. 1 2 3. There’s something about that locker room scene. Yeah. That was muted. Right. It wasn’t crazy. Yeah. They’re not like, “Oh, we won the Super Bowl or anything.” Right. Unlike the Dolphins yesterday, right? Right. Or others we have seen. Others we have seen where you just go crazy and you get caught up in it. like when the Vikings beat the Lions like that was very like yeah Pat’s on three and listen to Mike Vraable watch Mike Varel and every time I see him now and every time I hear him now I’m just reminded at what a dysfunctional mess the Tennessee Titans are cuz they had the guy right that they should have retained as their coach unless the truth is he wanted out and that was his way of getting out. Yeah, I don’t think that he was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame and he said some things that weekend and he knew how to press the buttons, but if it wasn’t a dysfunctional mess, you know, the dog starts chasing its tail. If everything was fine in Tennessee, he wouldn’t have won it out. He knew that there was something off. Sure. And so, however it went, chicken and the egg, they’re having bacon and having a big old time in New England. And they got their signature win of the season because their schedule has been easy. And it’s not their fault. Your schedule is what it is. Every year, some teams are going to have easy schedules, some teams aren’t. They’ve had an easy schedule. They had to go to Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay coming off a by-week. Tampa Bay healthier. They’ve still got some key injuries, but they got a chance to rest up. Baker Mayfield gets banged around. He’s ready to go. I thought the Bucks were going to win. You were right. The Pats won. And still think the Bucks are a good team, especially when they’re healthy. But to go down there and take that game from them, that was impressive. And you look at the rest of the schedule. There’s only two games left that should objectively concern the Patriots, Bills and Ravens out of the bye-week. They’ve got three games between now and the bye-week against the Jets, the Bengals, and the Giants. They should win win win be 11 and two. Now look, anything can happen. And one way anything does happen is when you start taking people lightly. You got a short week. You got the Jets. They’ve won two in a row. They got nothing to lose. They’d love to stick it to you if they can. You can’t lose focus. That team doesn’t seem to have lost focus. Not at all. I mean, biggest win of the year and they’re just like, “All right, let’s go. We got work to do.” I think they’re a team on a mission, right? I mean, I think it’s official that they’re one of the best teams in the AFC. We got to stop with the old like, oh, they’ve had an easy schedule, all that. I mean, they got it all. You know, had an easy schedule. You know, had an easy schedule. The 1999 Rams had an easy schedule. Yeah. Right. Nobody cares. Nobody cares. Right. At the at the end of the day, and first off, you know, easy schedule is is is, you know, such a easy or open talking point, but but at the end of the day, the way they’re playing, right, the way they’re coached, their attitude, everything about it. I mean, I think you explained it right. I always have said Vrael has that Bellichic Bill Parcels’s way about him to just to to push the right buttons all the time. And then I think you couple that with, oh man, man, Josh McDaniels is his offensive coordinator and you look at that and you go, man, okay, so now they got some defensive binds over there that are smart, they’re physical, they’re tough, they’re creative, and then they got the same thing going on the offensive side of the ball. And then you couple that with, man, they have struck gold with Drake May, who is ascending to be a superstar quarterback and is in the MVP conversation. You put he’s a favorite right now. Well, I’m not shocked. You put all those together, he shouldn’t be a favorite over Matthew Stafford. But yeah, I think we all got to get over like this. Like I think people are still waiting for the what is it? The floor to fall out from underneath the Indianapolis Colts. For the rug to come out from or the rug. That’s what we the rug to come out from the Indianapolis Colts and the Patriots. And I just want to say for like the hundth time in the last month, it’s not going to happen. These teams are here to stay. They are really good. I mean, you see here the Patriots, they have weapons. That’s the first thing. They can run the ball. They got a quarterback who can make plays off schedule. I mean, think about what they did yesterday, Mike. Think about their touchdowns. I mean, it’s it’s 72 yardd touchdown, okay? Then it’s a big drive at the end of the half. That’s a one-yd touchdown. The next touchdown, it’s a 55 yd run by Trevon Henderson. The next one after that, 69 yard. So, they can grind it. My point there is they can grind it out and be surgical and do the 10 and 12 play drive if they have to because we’ve seen them do that. But they’re capable of being explosive and making big plays and flipping the field in a hurry, too. So, yeah, I look at the Patriots. I’m thoroughly impressed. And uh yeah, they’re they’re they’re capable of getting to the Super Bowl. That’s how good the Patriots are in the AFC. Kyle Williams, the rookie receiver that you were high on, hadn’t done much this year. He was shot out of a cannon. Four rockets up the ass, as you would say. It’s on the scouting report. One that’ll happen. What’s the maximum? Five. I I mean I mean I feel like four is as hard as I can. Right. That’s so Kyle Kyle Williams had four yesterday. He had four and he’ll be you know I I think he’s a guy they like him. I know that. Right. But as you’ve always heard me say Josh McDaniels his offense there’s a lot to it. There’s a lot of rules. Some kid just coming from a simple offense out of Washington State. He was probably like what what the hell does this? I just thought you know in my old school they told me to run a slant and I ran a slant and that’s all there was to it. So yeah, there’s a learning process there, but you see the talent and you see that they just got other guys that can make big plays, too. It’s not him. It’s Trayvon Henderson diggs in a big moment. Oh, wait. There’s, you know, M. Hollands wearing no shoes before a games. Oh, that’s right. He can beat you deep for a 50-yard bomb. They got playmakers on the defensive side of the ball. They can rush the passer. They got two corners who can just go, “Hey, we got you. You guys figured out everything else. We got these two guys.” So when I look at stuff like that, I just see a lot of pieces and go, “Yeah, this is a team that can go deep into the AFC playoffs.” Hi, it’s Mike Florio. 1. Reminds me of the 2001 pats team that beat the St.Louis Rams and started the dynasty. Could history be repeating itself? Go to Vegas and bet Patriots beating LA Rams in Super Bowl 60

  2. Drake Maye is The TRUTH. And Coach Mike Vrabel is a true "Players Coach", going on to the field to check injured players, greeting every player after the game, involving all 52 men in the game, etc.. Let's Go Pats!
