Rival Star VERY INTERESTED in Joining Yankees…
We have a massive New York Yankees free agency update to go over today as a rival Yankee star is very interested in coming to New York as the Yankees plan an absolute robbery that also covers a huge position of need that they have to fill if they really want to be true World Series contenders. We’re going to go over all of this and the fallout that this is causing as well amid much more with free agency being fully underway right now and players being allowed to sign anywhere. baseball is getting crazy and we have multiple updates on the Yankees coming out every single day for you guys. So, if you’re part of that 69% that’s not subscribed, not nice. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss a single New York Yankees update all off season and free agency long. But let’s jump into the video, guys. There’s a lot to discuss on the Yankees right now because look, as we know, the Yankees have a lot to pull off in free agency. This is a team that really, really wants to get back to the World Series and optimize the final years of the Aaron Judge experience, especially while he’s in his prime. Well, with everything going down right now, the Yankees have to make some moves in this free agency. There’s some areas that desperately need to be covered and improved upon. And I mean, with the way that Anthony Vulpi has played, it’s clear that shortstop is one of them. You seen the face on the guy in the video right here as we have a huge update on the best free agent shortstop available. Bo Bashette who obviously played for the Toronto Blue Jays last year. Bette and the Blue Jays came very I mean as close as you could humanly come to winning the World Series before ultimately losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers. And I mean just you know Dodgers I hate the Dodgers so much man. But look, with the Toronto Blue Jays having Bo Bashette as a free agent, the wide expectation is that Bashette will be returning to Toronto. Bob Nightingale said as much. However, a recent update does have Jay’s fans very nervous. As Steve Simmons said that Bette told everyone who would listen that he wants to stay a Blue Jay as free agency approaches. He wants to continue his quest with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., he said that publicly while quietly telling some people he wouldn’t mind playing in New York in the future, the immediate future. So this is an absolute bombshell report regarding Bo Bashette. Now the Jays are still heavy favorites at a minus 210 right now to get him with the Braves second at plus 500 and then the Yankees trailing behind them at a plus 750. So is it a long shot for the Yankees according to the oddsmakers? Yes. Now Bette he had a 3.5 war last season and would give the Yankees a true leadoff hitter. The Yankees get their leadoff guy in Bashette who would bat first with Cody Bellinger if he if he returns to the Yankees which the Yankees want to make sure he returns batting second and Aaron Judge third. That is a beautiful top of the batting order right there. Now Bette is not a great fielder. It’s really the one real hole in his game because I mean the OPS is good. 840 OPS as a contact hitter. Gets on base a whole lot. He’s an above average offensive player. The problem is he has as many errors as any shorts stop in the American League except for one. This one with the Yankee shorts stop Anthony Vulpi being the worst fielding shortstop in the MLB last season or at least in the American League last season. The Yankees desperately need an upgrade at that position. I mean Vulpi is below average both offensively and defensively and there’s no real way for the Yankees to hide it anymore. Having Anthony Vulpi out there has just not worked one bit. He’s got a batting average of a 212 last season. The only thing he did better than Bashette was he had one more home run because Vulpi does have more power than him, but at a 663 OPS and his slugging percentage was still worse because Anthony Vulpi can’t get hits. He struggled mightily. He had a great home run against the Boston Red Sox in the wild card and outside of that, he really didn’t do anything whatsoever in the playoffs continued to struggle there and there’s no real way the Yankees can honestly still put Anthony Vulpi as their everyday shortstop. Now, Vulpi is injured and will be missing the start of the season regardless. meaning that Joseé Cabayro will be there and it’s a matter of if the Yankees ultimately do decide to retain Amed Rosario, something that has definitely been up in the air. I imagine the Yankees will try to retain Rosario, but obviously that is a question that we will see get answered later on. Now, on top of that, when we look just at all the free agents out here, Bette is one of the better names here. I don’t know why Pete Alonzo and Alex Bregman are there twice, but it is what it is. Bette is expected to be getting an average annual value of around $23 million per year. So it would be a heavy price for the New York Yankees to pay. But the Yankees have been named as one of the best fits for Bo Bashette with the number one landing spot being returning to the Blue Jays and then being rounded out by the two teams that the Blue Jays would really really despise if Bette went to in the New York Yankees at second and the Los Angeles Dodgers at third. So with that in mind, the Yankees will definitely go for Bob Bashette. They’ll have the interest in it. And Bette did say right after that he wants to be here from the beginning. He said that from the beginning and Bette wants to stay in Toronto with the Jays, but also money talks. And the Yankees, they might decide, hey, you know what? It’s time to go out there and really swing for the fences with this whole situation at hand. So that’s something to be aware of. And also in regards to this, in regards to Carrie Miller listing the Yankees as the second best option for Bette, he said that Bette has been projected to lend an 8-year $212 million contract. So if the Yankees do go that way, it sends a strong message to their current infield. The Yankees seem to like Vulpi very much, even at his worst. But they can swing someone like Bette. They might have to take that bat in the infield and take some of the risks with a younger player in the outfield like a Spencer Jones or someone like that. likely just Spencer Jones. And also Miller said with year-end OPS makings of a 666, 657, and 663 over his first three seasons in the big leagues, we pretty well know what to expect out of Anthony Vulpi at this point. And well, he’s much more Isaiah Connor Fifa than Derek Jeter. Vulpi has three more years of arbitration eligibility still to come, though, and top prospect George Lombard Jr. will hopefully be ready long before that window closes. So, do they continue to let it ride with Vulpi until it’s Lumbard time? Or could they bring in Bett to start at shortstop for a year with plans to shift him to second base and hand Lumbard the reigns at short once Jazz Chisum Jr. hits free agency next winter? Now, that’s the thing. The Yankees, myself included, they love Jazz. So, the Yankees don’t need a second baseman and Bo Bashette is more of a second baseman than a shortstop. though the Yankees would make would be making a long-term commitment to Bo Bashette, a guy who frankly you do have to understand this is a risk because now he gets a long-term contract from the Yankees. Now you can you just move on from Vulpi in whatever means you move on from him. It doesn’t you just you just will. So you understand that and then what you have to look at after that is okay here are options at hand. we could decide ultimately that signing Bob Bashett’s worth it at and just focus on the short term and then figure out what to do with Jazz Chisum after. Do you try to move Jazz back to third base even though he really doesn’t like doing that and would probably leave in free agency if you tell him where that’s where his future lies with the Yankees would be at the third base position. Jazz would likely decide no I’m not a third baseman. Every time I play third base our team struggles more. I’m sick of moving to third base when I’m a better fielding second baseman than these guys who are trying to put at second base. putting me at a position that I’m weaker at and a position where the fielding is just not as important. And that’s understandable if Jazz feels that way. Jazz is also a better player when he’s playing second base because he’s more comfortable. He’s more confident. And he said it makes his routine a lot simpler, which does make sense. He’s a second baseman after all. Jazz is not moving to shortstop. And the other player, the other position we’ve seen Jazz play at is center field. The Yankees already have a crowded outfield whether they sign Cody Bellinger or not. They still do have a center fielder in Spencer Jones. They also do get they did give Trent Gisham the qualifying offer. So if Gish doesn’t like his offers, he’s back in New York. He’s a center fielder as well. Meanwhile, the fact that Jazz has openly said multiple times he doesn’t want to play center field. So there really it does become this situation where you have to navigate how much is it going to be worth signing Bob Bashette. You get contact, you get a good base runner, you get a great player who’s an all-star level talent most of the time, but is it worth it? He’s had some injuries. Also, it’s shortstop’s a position of need for the Yankees. Bob Bashett’s not exactly a shortstop. He’s a second baseman who plays shortstop. The Yank are the Yankees really going to do that or are they just going to say, you know what, well, Anthony Vulpi is a bad fielder, too. We’ll just keep him because I honestly see that being just as likely knowing the Yankees. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments down below. The only thing he is truly interested in is is driving up his price?
If they get Baichet the they must trade Jazz
His brother was in the Yankees organization they treated him him very well he never made it to the show
He definitely a terrible SS at 2nd base he would be good
Not crazy about Bichette. His father Dante, is best buddies with Joe Girardi
Volpe is AWFUL with a capital A. We need a replacement
I wish we could have bichette but he's staying with Toronto.
The key to restoring Yankee relevance is finding a new General Manager. Hank likes old furniture and is afraid to change his team structure. His father would have fired him long ago
I’m with you, I hate the freaking Dodgers too.
I’d move him to 3B after one year bc McMahon can’t hit and resign jazz for 2B.
SO WHY IS HAL SLEEPUNG ON IT LOL
Where do you get your information? All free agents are interested in the Yankees. Thats how they drive up their price.
Bichette would be $20+ million/year for literally one of the worst infielders in all of baseball. lol Trading for an elite pitcher and extending him before the season starts would be a better idea.
I don’t see the Yanks trading for a shortstop, Bichette or anyone else. The Yanks have very high hopes for George Lombardi Jr. who is probably planned for 2027. They are not going to sign someone to a long term deal. Get used to the thought of Volpe and Caballero handling duties next year.
Jazz is terrible at 3B. Yes, he has talent but he struggles with the long throw and he is confused as to where to be.
i hope they do get Bichette. They can either trade Volpe, or play Bo at 3rd.
If the yankess get bichette resign cody, let dominguez, grishman,go, trade Stanton, for pitching let jazz chilsom go,willams, letier, move trade vlope for good relief pitching , go after Alonzo, get a good catcher, move rice to catcher, Spencer jones DH
As long as Cashman is involved. NYY goals will never be met. A lifetime of failure.
