Brad Treliving Could Target St Louis Blues Defensemen in Trade + Leafs DISASTER Weekend REACTION

Hey everyone, things are not going well for the Toronto Maple Leafs the last couple games. We thought we were in November Leafs, but it’s gone for a quick turn to the negative. But it’s like you look at it, I mean a twogoal loss against the Bruins on Saturday night where Stalor has a disaster game and then you go to a backto-back against one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference, the Carolina Hurricanes. You get heavily outshot in the third period. It’s disastrous defensively and Dennis Hillby kind of gets hung out to dry. So we’re going to talk about a few things on the Leafs front. Uh but yeah, the Dom tweet here, the Leafs have fallen under 50% to make the playoffs. Uh and that’s the first time since 1617. So, you know what? I think it’s way too early to panic. I also think Craig Barubi and the new structure of the team. I think there’s some things that are being talked about right now that are not a good thing, like Derrick Leon’s involvement in terms of the team, uh the penalty kill, things like that. uh power play, different conversations in terms of uh special teams versus five on five and they’re just not driving play five on five. But ironically, some of the big boys are scoring a lot five on five, which I think is like opportunistic uh kind of situations that the Leafs are are facing, which I mean, you saw last night, right? Like William Knander gets his flashes of brilliance and it just reminds you how good William Knander is, uh but then he takes two hooking calls. So, it’s just been up and down for the Toronto Maple Leafs this year where they’re up high in terms of like top five for goals scored, but also bottom five for goals allowed. So, uh, for what was kind of considered a really strong defensive team, uh, in terms of the defense core, you lose Chris Taniff, you get slower, you get older, and that’s what kind of happens. So, just quickly suggesting something here, guys, in terms of an ad. I know the Leafs have been talking about adding a forward, but Nick Robertson’s kind of been that ad into the top six. He’s been great. If you guys are talking negative about Nick Robertson, you haven’t been watching. He’s been almost a point per game recently. I think only in this like six or seven game stretch. Uh John Tvarz has been unreal. Uh I’m going to make my Olympic roster predictions guys this week. So keep an eye out for that video. I’ll probably be doing all the teams, but on a Canada conversation, John Tvarez is like what four or five points above a point per game. He’s been unreal. And for that contract, if there was ever John Tavvar’s hate coming into the season, those people are quiet. Like it it’s just foolishness. But that top six has been fine in terms of offensive production. It’s really five on five drivers. Uh in like that bottom six has been a a problem. Uh I think Wah, Joshua, and Michell have been getting a little bit chemistry. You saw it a little bit the couple games before this Carolina game. Uh but really it’s the defensive ad for me guys. So I’m suggesting Toronto to call St. Louis, if you guys didn’t see my video uh prior, it was talking about Leaf’s potential targets or trades that could uh kind of come to fruition this season. Brad Living should be calling Doug Armstrong and seeing what they can put together. You know what, St. Louis is a bit weaker. You could stay on that left side. Maybe Simone Benois could be attractive at only a $1.4 million or $1.3 million cap hit. Uh you know what, Benois kind of struggled with the Leafs. Maybe find some success with the Blues this season. Uh they need some new faces. Uh Cali Yarnro is a bottom six forward and you just throw draft capital at St. Louis. There was some rumors that St. Louis wanted off the Justin Faulk cap hit before. So maybe they can convince Doug Armstrong to make a trade here. Justin Faulk could be a fit. Right shot. He does bring some risk, but a lot more in terms of puck carrier ability and also bringing in some offense. Like you’re not getting offense right now from Brandon Carlo, which you never were going to. like if people are expecting to get offense from Carlo, but it’s more Carlo’s been struggling to get the puck out of his own zone and and just being physical, being what he was on the Boston Bruins. So, you know what, you need some more, I would say, juice. You need some more explosiveness. Justin Faulk could bring that. So, maybe Justin Faulk with Jake McCabe could be a good balance when Chris Tanov comes back. You put Chris Tanov next to Morgan Rally for the time being. Get Philip Myers out of here, man. William Villanovv has been developing with the Toronto Marleys. I say give Villanovv or Henry Thrun a look with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season to get more puck moving on that back end. So Justin Faulk would bring a little bit more puck movement on that back end. Partner him with Jake McCabe. Those guys can play heavy minutes. Oel with Brandon Carlo. I think that’s a good balance and then Riley with Tanv. Those would be three solid pairs. Hopefully would improve things. Uh and you know what? I do think you need to reconsider that Brandon Carlo ad. Like you I don’t want to say I told you so, but so many people like I was a huge Fraser Minton guy and then attaching Minton to a first round pick to get Carlo to me was disastrous. Um I I like the cap hit at 3.485 under three and a half for Brandon Carlo who can be a really good five six defenseman or maybe even a four defenseman. I don’t mind the cap hit. I just think the value of trading two first round picks, Fraser Mitten and Nikita Gmanin for Lton and Carlo uh was disastrous for me. If you guys go back on my reaction, I went crazy when I thought the Leafs were acquiring Carlo for just a first round pick. Throwing in Minton I thought was just ridiculous. Fraser Minton could have been a guy that plays on your third line and slides Nick Wad to your fourth line and you don’t even need to acquire Scott Lton. Uh but you know what? It’s hindsight. I don’t want to keep going into the past, but the Leafs need to figure it out. like Trey Living needs to figure it out. Is it bringing in youth into this roster? Is it bringing East Cowan back up? Because here’s the thing, no one’s really talking about it on Twitter, guys. But Eastston Cowan was in the stretch where the Leafs put some wins together and then Eastston Cowan gets sent back down and the Leafs have two brutal losses. Again, I there’s no direct correlation for me uh in terms of what the issue is because the issue really is the defensive effort and the goalending. They need Joseph Wool back. Anthony Solers has been beat up. He looked so bad against Boston Saturday night. So, um, the conversation is Justin Faulk. Maybe he’s a target for the Toronto Maple Leafs or maybe they just get a right shot mobile guy because Brandon Carlo at the capit it’s fine. People are overreacting at the Capit. It’s fine. He just needs to be in the role. He is four, five, six defenseman. Get a guy that’s a little bit more of a puck mover. So, you have Riley Oel on the left side. You have a puck mover on the right side. And it’s not just all I I would say shut down guys that are slower at this point. So, uh, Trey Living has a lot to consider. Is it a coaching staff issue, guys? Let us know in the comments. And, uh, yeah, I think overall the Leafs probably need to make a move in that aspect at some point. Uh, you know what? I’m not hitting the panic button. I understand Don put it under 50% for the Leafs to make the playoffs. We’re in November. Relax.
