Rasmus Dahlin To Take Leave Of Absence To Tend To Personal Matter In Sweden | Sabres | Lindy Ruff
What was uh Castle Ring status? Uh just uh maintenance day for for Castle Ring. Um so I I don’t I don’t think that’ll uh take him out of place for tomorrow. And the other guys are for Utah. I’m going to say that uh uh Rasmus will be taking a a temporary leave of absence to deal with a personal matter back in Sweden. I I will say this that uh he said everything is okay and through this he’s got he’s got full support by by our team. Do you have any idea how long? No, there’s no no time frame right now. What is it how hard is it how hard has it been for him to try to stay focused on hockey through all this? Um I think it’s been incredibly hard. Okay. Um, not not easy if I fully understand where what this young man has gone through. And I don’t think you can describe it and I don’t think you can feel what he’s feeling. Um, you know, I’m pretty passionate about the fact that no one would want to walk in his shoes and haven’t dealt with what he dealt with. Uh, so he he is undoubtedly got the support of everybody on this. This is larger than hockey. How important is that in the room that guys know that the organization that you like you’re thinking about the person before the hockey player in situations like this? That always comes first. Family and person come before hockey. Hockeyy’s our job. Hockeyy’s our lifeline. But uh family and and personal trump anything that uh comes before Benson, Kik Zucker, or those guys you’re hoping maybe for Utah. Kik, no. He went through some further testing. We’re waiting for a final. Uh, but he won’t be ready. Zucker is uh he’s dealt with an illness that uh still isn’t feeling well. I I don’t I’m just going to say I don’t believe he he’s not even going to make the trip with us. Uh Benson skated this morning early just in a in a tracksuit. Um so that that’s a positive. Um will he be ready for Utah? There’s a possibility. This this team with the offensive struggles of late, how do you just get them to not squeeze the sticks and just keep forging ahead? Well, you know, I think first I think uh you know, we were a good team at creating uh what we call dirty goals. I think we ranked like fifth last year. I think we’ve got a way like last last night we our shot selection and lack of shot selection, you know, wasn’t good enough in a game that we created four or five opportunities that we should score a couple goals on. Uh let’s give the goalie, you know, he had a couple highlight saves. Um he he got a little bit lucky with a couple posts that, you know, didn’t go in for us. Um, but today’s practice was about, you know, getting getting back around the net and getting more pucks there. you know, I felt by the end of the night we could have had, you know, probably close to 3540 shots, but we deferred to some outside play that um we got to get we got to get pucks going there. And we got to we got to got to when teams are, I’ll say compressed inside. You’ve got to find ways to get it there and and then look for those second opportunities. So, you know, we deferred to a little bit of staying on the perimeter, uh, which hurt us. Ta seems very intrigued by playing with the two rookies. Um, just why did you put them together and just what what can a full practice do for them? Just, you know, they’re good. They’re both good playmakers. Uh, Austin has been a very good defender. Uh, uh, they both have good speed. Uh so I’m really looking at you know Osceland to replace Kik and then you got Rosine to replace Benson and uh that was a you know was a good line for us. Um you know tough to break up uh the Mloud line that you know has gone pretty good for us. You know you look at the couple great chances that Don had again two great chances. Tuck had one. if you know he gets it up another foot, it’s in the back of the net. Um, so it uh it’s an opportunity for for those young guys to again just help us help us get on the scoreboard. You guys haven’t won in Carolina in nine years. Just how tough is that and how tough is this trip in general? I focus on on what I can’t I can’t go back nine years and I I can go back a year and I didn’t like our game there a year ago and we’re going to make some adjustments and we’re going to go from there. Um it’s about one game. Uh we we know that uh they’re a good team in that building. Um you know we’ had a hell of a tough series against them when I was with the Devils. Uh so we’re going to change a few things around and see if we can get uh a little successor. How much can uh I know this is one trip and then you’re back, but then you have three games on the road and how much can that you know be an opportunity maybe to to come together a little bit. Yeah, I you know I think we’ve we’ve been at home a long period. I think the road is sometimes a a good place to, you know, kind of bond together and you spend more time together versus at home you’re always back in your own place. So, um I’m looking forward uh to the road. I uh I know that uh we’ve got if you break down the schedule, there’s four tough teams to play. Not that there’s any easy games as there is, but you you look at it uh you’ve got all teams that have gone pretty well.

We love you Rasmus ❤️
WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH THIS TEAM LINDY???
That's for the best, he seems distracted and not himself
Go Sabres
I hope he takes as long as he needs. Best wishes Rasmus to you and your fiance.
Good he needs to get his head straight and now sit lazy Thomas for the whole road trip.
Did Terry loan him the PJ? Thoughts with him and his family right now!
Well wishes to Dahls and loved ones thru trying times, guy would be Norris trophy winner if he played on a team with any defensive structure and toughness
Prayers for Rasmus and his fiancé.
Seaons a wash, half the lineup out for various reasons, seems like their giving up and this road trip is ganna be the nail in the coffin for us this season. Dahls should def take time off and be with his fiancee, for as long as he needs in order too come back confident and better than he's playing. Lyon gives the team a shot most nights, keep UPL outta net as much as possible let Lyon carry the team and try your hardest too get pucks too the net and they may survive this but Norris, Benson, Zucker , Kulich and Dahls all being out at once is not some thing this team can get through, thats over half the talent outta the roster with nothing but Rochester kids and 4th liners too step in. I'd be calling up Helenius as well just too see what he's got at this point you might as well use this too try and find SOMEBODY with some talent you can use.
I'll miss you for a while buddy, enjoy ur vacation in Sweden take care of Carolina and fight for her to stay strong and alive. All loves and respects in me and the fans hearts for prayers and support u! We love you so much Rasmus Dahlin and Carolina!!!🏒🥅🚨🦬⚔️💙💛🤍🖤❤️🙏🙏🙏
Love to the Captain
Good for him. Go be with your wife.
God Bless you both with good health and a long happy marriage. Safe travels bro!
I’m fearing that this road trip will be a disaster. They need to just fire everything at the net. Forwards get to the net.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the Dahlin Family ❤
