Dallas Cowboys Cut Candidates & IR Options Ft. Ajani Cornelius, Jay Toia And Trikweze Bridges
Before we dive into today’s Cowboys report, we are 33 subs away from 234K here on the channel. Help us out. Get there. And it’s free when you subscribe to the Cowboys Report. [Music] Cowboys roster moves are coming. We’re going to break down what the Cowboys could potentially do to create the necessary roster spots as players are set to return from various injured list. Currently 52 players counting against the Cowboys 53man roster. So, two ways to create these roster spots. Now, we’re past the trade deadline. You can’t trade anybody. You could cut players easy. Or you could put them on injured reserve with an injury, whether real or invented. Uh, one player in particular stands out to me on that front. But these are the players who could return as soon as this week. We should be getting back to Marvian Overshone and Savone Rebel this week. Peron Winfrey is eligible to return. He has been designated to return from injured reserve. He doesn’t have to come back this week in the same way that Overshon and Rebel do. He could wait another week, but he’s he could be back this week. So, we’ll see how this week plays out of injuries and stuff or if the Cowboys slowplay it there. Players who could potentially return later include Jack Sanborn, Trayvon Diggs, and Malik Hooker. Now, the Cowboys don’t have to bring those guys back. They have not been designated to return yet. Hooker is eligible, uh, but has not been as needed yet. So, those are some additional names. That’s six. Four guys who I don’t think will return, not even including people like Robert Jones, who are out for the year already, and Miles Sanders, who has been declared out for the year. Phil Mafa, he’s eligible. I think this was this was just an IR stash in the first place. Trevor Keegan already got put on IR as the IR stat to make room for others. Payton Turner is eligible, but he’s been eligible for a while. Same with Josh Butler. Kind of feels like Mafa and Butler in particular, just stashes to have next season. So, first up on our list is a Johnny Cornelius, the day three draft pick for the Dallas Cowboys out of Oregon. And this one strikes me as a potential IR stash. He has been on the injury report for weeks now with knees. Limited sometimes, but still full at other points there. Kind of feels like the Cowboys are setting up the hey, we put him on IR cuz the Cowboys have 10 offensive linemen on the roster. You’re obviously not going to do anything with Tyler Gton and Smith and BB and Booker and the Steel Thomas right tackle battle brewing. Brock Hoffman, TJ Bass. That leaves Hakeim Dejai and Ajani Cornelius with Cornelius being the first one we discuss here because he’s played in one game this year. It was not like it was just he was active for that game because of other injuries. He’s the 10th guy on the offensive line. The rest of the crew is healthy. Seems like a name. The Cowboys don’t want to cut him. He was a draft pick. So, put him on IR. Stash him for the rest of the season. So, name a player if you have one in mind who you want to cut. Got to start making some decisions here. Let me know in the comments section of today’s show. The other offensive lineman also worth mentioning here, Hakee Adenai. He has played a little bit more than Ajane Cornelius this year. He does appear to be ahead of AC on the depth chart on the offensive line pecking order. Hasn’t played much this year. Six games played in total, a meager 62 snaps. He’s just kind of been like the emergency offensive lineman essentially. I’ll also make note here by the way is worth mentioning if you only bring back the two minimum you put quilus on IR you can kind of slow play it with Pion Winfrey maybe you don’t have to do something else in the event somebody gets hurt knock on wood against the Raiders so there could be a slow play element here is next up and this one really strikes me as like okay what do you do when Pion Winfrey comes back obviously Mazy Smith is already off the roster he’s with the New York Football Jets the return of Winfrey does add yet another defense defensive tackle battle, right? Or body, I should say. Quin Williams, Oso, Diggizua, Kenny Clark, they’re going to be heavily involved up front. Solomon Thomas is there. I don’t think this team is going to carry six defensive linemen. I don’t think I don’t know that for certain. They very well could, but Toia hasn’t played very much this year. 77 snaps this season, three tackles. His pressure rate is three. I think he’s one for like 33 or something along those lines. One for 30. He has not been, it’s not, it’s not his game, but he has been just the guy. He’s also a seventh round pick at defensive tackle. Like, you know, maybe if Winfrey comes back next week, maybe they come up with an injury since they’re not going to have six game day active tackles or dtackles. Something’s got to give there. This episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. The hard-hitting football action is even better with prize picks. The weather might be changing, but boy, did it ever change today. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. links in the comments and the description of today’s show. All right, some deeper down the line options here. Triquiz Bridges and you’re going to get back Savone Rebel, knock on wood, we’ll see how he plays. Hopefully, it’s, you know, valuable. I don’t know what that means for Bridges. And I like if I if if Rebels is going to be active on game days, he’ll probably have to help on special teams, which has been a role that British has helped out on. But that’s another player kind of pushing him down the depth chart as we’ll get into when he’s been out there on offense. Look, to be blunt, he’s looked like a late seventh round pick. He has not been particularly good. Yes, he had the interception that was gift wrapped from Bo Nicks. He got beat on the play and the the the RPO glance was 5 yards behind the intended receiver. He he has not been a good player necessarily. So I look at how this quarterback room shakes out, which could get more complicated if you were going to bring back Trayvon Diggs down the line. Don Bland, Ka Elum, Ready Stewart, Kalin Carson are your top four right now. Goodwin helps out on special teams predominately almost don’t count him frankly. Bridges is CB5 right now, but you bring back Rebel. Are you just going to have Bridges on there, not counting on the 50 on the game day roster? Like, do you want to go light on offensive line and defensive tackle? That’s an option. But I do think Bridges, if Diggs comes back, which is the big question mark here, I have a tough time seeing the Cowboys carrying seven corners on the game day roster. They could just come up with something for Bridges or just outright cut him. If Diggs comes back, that’s a question mark right now. I don’t think any of us truly know what the plan, what the outlook looks like there. there. I know Jerry Jones says he wants Diggs back, but who knows if it happens. Does Trayvon Diggs play again this year? Why for yes and for no? Sound off in the comments section of today’s show. Next up is safety Elijah Clark. And again, I’m thinking about IR options here and returnable Hooker options. He is currently dealing with a rib injury. So, if Dallas wanted to, they could put him on IR depending on how that timeline goes. I don’t think it’s going to be that severe of an injury. Uh he’s had a start for the Cowboys because of all the other injuries. Eight tackles this year in four games played. Hasn’t done a whole lot of other crazy highlevel impact stuff. This is a guy the Cowboys lights coming out of Syracuse, one of their key focal points in terms of game day additions or or undrafted free agents. He’s been called a few times as well to the game day active roster. But Donovan Wilson in theory will be back this week. If Malle H C H C H C H C H C H C H C H C H C H Cooker comes back, I don’t know if they’re going to carry five safeties. So again, barring injuries elsewhere, they got to figure that stuff out. There’s also been no sign of an impending M Cooker return yet. K has kind of hinted at it, but he’s missed enough time beyond the initial four games that it’s fair to wonder if when. So does Malie Cooker return this year? One for yes, zero for no since there is a real chance he gets cut if the answer is no after the year ends. So get your votes in for me in the comments section. One for yes, zero for no. Finally, the other clerk, see I went Clark part one, Clark part two. Get it? Uh Deone Clark, the linebacker, once again has fallen out of favor with the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff, which is in a way is kind of like three straight uh that that has happened because he was Mike Zimmer gave him a bunch of playing time and then went, okay, this is not the good guy. The Cowboys had to give him much playing time in 2023. They didn’t really want to under Dan Quinn by the end of it there. this year he was starting for for Mattie Refluse and I feel like it’s the same thing we’ve come across each time of like wow he’s a great athlete I can get the instincts going and they get like three or four games in and go no we can’t never mind this is this is not working right now Cowboys have overhauled their linebacker room they going to get Marvin no show back in theory this week Logan Wilson is now on the threeman roster Kenneth Murray Mise Maurice Leaf Shamar James all playing over Clark he could be an active they’ve paid him like $3 million here, which kind of stinks. Um, but if Jack Sambour comes back from IR, they’re not going to carry seven linebackers. So, unless someone gets hurt, Demone Clark feels like the odd man out. [Music]

Especially on defensive edge tackles line backers . . 🤓Bias as well remember when passed on the watt and drafted taco Charlton . In a bias move 🤣and doesn't draft any white draft prospects needs to go . I remember when scattabo and blue both on board . We're considering scattabo ok will wasn't having it started hollering blue . C. Scattsbo was having great year before ankle injury . Blue can't even figure out play book looks scared out there. Another notch in his. Belt . He's has done a lot. Of collateral damage to team c. How's he still here . Same old same old with 🤓mcclay around . Needs to go before draft comes around . Same old same old with 🤓💯around . New blood at . Personell director scouting staff . . 🤓🤡🐺👀
Let Mafah play, we need to see what kind of rb he is!!!
Cut Elam and Murray please, maybe Sanborn too but we need someone until we know Overshown is ok
They’re gonna bring Mafah up.
Sam Williams and sanbjorn cut ASAP
Cut J Toia.. I thought he would be ok. Also cut Elam
Man, we can cut atleast 8 guys on defense for real. And bring in a defensive coach that can motivate the players. Damn!

D clark
Clark and Williams should trade at DT
Steele ir or cut
Cut Donovan Wilson.
Keep Toia, he's a big body that we need on the D-Line. Yeah, he's a rookie and yeah he needs some work, but the D-Linemen that we picked up in free agency are not gonna stay in the foreseeable future.
Moves I’m making
1. Start Williams and Clark in the middle
2. Osa moves to DE
3. Get Carson and Revel reps at corner so Bland can start in the slot
4. Diggs can play FS
5. Let Thomas get a full game at RT
6. Overshown and Wilson starting backers with Laiufu coming in behind them
7. Start Ezzy going forward with Clowney and Houston getting reps behind them (reduce Williams and Fowler snaps)
Y
Bell's been a disappointment.
Cut diggs
I’d find a way to get Mafah on the active roster before the year ends. You need to see what they have in him before next year.
Why keep K9? You know what he is. I know that you’re paying him a moderate amount of money, but he’s just holding up progress. Play the guys who will be here long term.
Get Rid Of Elam He's Trash 🗑 He's Killing Us If He's Not Holding Or Pass Interference He's Getting Rape Out There Bland Also Bland Is Fraudulent After What Maserati Marv Did To Him Ive Seen Enough Of This Years Team They Look Like A Total Shit Show 🤬🤬
This secondary is really bad healthy or not
