The New York Knicks six and three straight up and against the number this season. The Knicks picking up a 13498 blowout win over the Brooklyn Nets in their last matchup. While Memphis comes in 4-7 on the year, 3-8 against the number this season after a 114 to 100 loss at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder in their last game. They’ve now lost five of their last six. And this is a Memphis team that’s just run hot and cold at times this season just in terms of being competitive and you know getting blown out. And you know the thing with Memphis is that they’ve been able to beat bad teams for the most part this season. I mean they beat Dallas. They got a win over Phoenix by one point in a game where maybe Phoenix didn’t play at their best. They also beat the Indiana Pacers who have been just just been a mess this season early on. So I I I’m kind of taking you know Memphis’s record with a grain of salt just you know in terms of level of competition. I’m not going to fault Memphis for playing who’s been put in front of them. I’m just saying you kind of have to uh kind of have to weigh it out a little bit. Now, you take on a New York Knicks team that is just really solid across the board out of the gate, but they’re also a team that has not been hard to figure out. Even if you just look at their their, you know, win loss record on the surface, 6-3 on the year, 6-0 at home, 0 and3 on the road. That’s been plain and simple. MSG is where the Knicks have been at their best this season. Now, you could also call into question some of the recent competition that the Knicks have had. You know, I’m not going to, you know, slander them for beating the Bulls and, you know, the the Timberwolves because the Timberwolves was impressive, beating Tim the Timberwolves by 23 points, but they also have double-digit wins over Brooklyn and Washington. So, you just kind of, like I said, take the good with the bad and just sort of factor that into the handicap. But for me, what it boils down to is just the fact that I’m just not high on this Memphis Grizzlies team. they just they just don’t have enough to really sort of get up and over the hump. You know, there’s been just a lot of games where, you know, they’ve given they they’ve played decent defense. You know, they haven’t given they haven’t necessarily gotten run out of the gym off in this season. I mean, you look at at their last 10 games. This is a Memphis team. It’s allowed 117 points or less in seven of those games. In today’s NBA, that’s about average. But the problem is that they’re not scoring. They’ve scored 109 or less in four of their last five. All those games have been losses. and it just doesn’t look like they have the offense to be able to keep up in these games. I think the New York Knicks, who have been one of the better defensive teams in the NBA the last couple seasons, really put the clamps down on Memphis in this game. Um, I think they, you know, just pull away from Memphis over the course of the game and win this one by double digits. So, I’m going to lay the points with the Knicks in this one and that’s going to be my free pick.
