It’s not that we lost, it’s how we lost, I get our defense is banged up, but we gave up 42 points and literally only stopped them twice the entire game, that’s embarrassing and it shows that unless the offense plays perfectly and plays from ahead with a lead and controls the clock, we aren’t beating any contending team, even if we get some of our injured starters on offense back.
Well it’s almost over.
Sure but why even have a defense at this point?
Our depleted defense ran into a buzzsaw. Stafford’s been playing like his hair is on fire.
The last two loses have been embarrassing loses. Plus no loss to the rams is ever “ok”
any rational fan knows that guys like Warner, Kittle, CMC, Trent, and Bosa are probably not going to win rings on this team because we didn’t build a foundation going forward. that’s frustrating to think about.
Meanwhile the Rams drafted well from 2023 onward, have a MVP-level QB, drafted/signed 2 elite WRs, and an elite GM. Our defense should be better even without Warner and Bosa, the guys we drafted in the last 2 years just aren’t good enough.
Mac was amazing. I have a lot of confidence in him as our QB rn.
This season kind of reminds me of the early 2000’s for some reason, you could feel being good slipping away but you really thought they were better.
Huh? The fact that the Rams and Seahawks are better teams is a problem, is it not? The fan reaction is pretty standard and realistic: the Niners are too injured to compete.
Niners need to go all in one year. All the prime players are regressing.
The reaction by the Rams has been the weirdest part. They act like they just slayed a dragon
I’m not a doom and gloom fan, I try to find the positives, and I try to just enjoy 49ers football.
With that being said, every non-contending season, there’s a game I watch that just solidifies the season for me. Last year it was the game against the chiefs, I knew we were done after that game.
This year it’s this rams game. There is just too much to overcome & even the most optimistic fan knows 8-10 unrealistic things have to happen for us to be realistic contenders. It’s just not going to happen, and this game solidified that.
This defense is the worst defense in the NFL. Outside of Demo, our next best 3-4 defensive players are realistically rotational players & backups on other teams . The defense is too young and bad.
