The problem with Grimes, is he is trying too hard to be the nice guy (not selfish) and not look for his own shot.
We all know that Grimes should have been starting over VJ, especially not expecting VJ to be as good as he is turning out to be.
Pure VJ promotion by the top brass.
But even keeping Grimes off the bench, he should be starting in the 2nd half in order to get him going.
Grimes is a better ball handler than Watford, every day of the week. And he is still the best PG on the roster, as Maxey is more of a SG.
Grimes starting the 2nd half doesn't affect him winning 6th Man of the Year award.
Joel needs to continue on a 25 minute restriction, as it forces him to play harder knowing he has limited minutes.
It still allows him to play at least 5 minutes of the 4th quarter.
If Embiid can make it through November without any setback, then I would consider extending restriction to 30 mpg for December.
But I would also consider allowing Joel to play some back to backs, maybe at 20 mpg on the first game.
As Keith says, the key to Embiid is not to revert back to "getting his own". He shouldn't be taking much more shots that his teammates who are playing more minutes.
Keith like he be tired and falling asleep all the time…..
More than 90% of the fanbase had ridden off Drummond as a wasted roster spot and wanted him traded.
About on social media even wanted him traded before the season began, not knowing the status of Embiid.
Well Embiid is as healthy as could have been expected, and still Drummond is essential.
Regarding Dom Barlow, I had consulted Grok right after it was announced he had a surgical procedure (the day after his deep laceration).
Grok predicted he'd be out 2 – 5 weeks, as those procedures are tricky. They require layered sutures to close the wound and hope there is no infection. There could even be rehabilitation required on his elbow, to get back to playing time.
Regarding Paul George it makes absolutely no sense that he hasn't been allowed to play.
I posted the video of him doing a full court drill, non-stop for 2 minutes and 52 seconds. He's in shape.
The question seems to be what type of brace to wear on his left leg.
Maybe PG rejected the requirement to wear a heavy brace – which was good enough for the team doc to allow McCain to play.
Being non-transparent about situations like with Paul George are required in the NBA – Less liability and avoiding expectations or putting pressure on players or being proven wrong – take your pick which applies to the lack of transparency. I didn't even mention HIPAA, but that is overblown as the NBA has their own agreements with players. No you can't reveal a STD, but there is no reason the players care about release of musculoskeletal injuries. In fact, the NBA tells the plays to keep quiet.
With respect to PG, Morey did give some hints as he revealed he had a "clean up" arthroscopic surgery on July 14 and that there was no ligament damage.
Since "clean ups" are to get rid of loose bodies and necrotic tissue, it could not have been directly to correct for the workout injury that they reported he suffered earlier in July. Rather that "injury" was likely a flare up from never being right since PG's two hyperextensions from Oct/Nov 2024.
And Keith revealed that Sixers tried to move Paul George to the Nets around the start of free agency, but the Nets said NO.
That is consistent with PG not being right during the offseason (residual affects of those hyperextensions).
But if his "clean up" was fully successful, PG should have been fine by mid-September and just needing to ramp up to game condition.
So it doesn't make sense that they are still preventing PG from playing (without a heavy brace).
I get frustrated when they lose but not at all. I expected them to be the middle of the pack but I didn't expect them to be this good at the beginning at all. But I guess I said little personal expectations unto myself 🤭
