Still top 10 in completion percentage and top 5 in big time throw rate. But 31st in attempt %?
I know most of you will say it’s because Bryce doesn’t have a strong enough arm but I honestly disagree with this. We watched last year him throw 50 yards passes with ease. He’s got the arm to throw deep and I feel that’s a weak argument.
This just begs the question, why? Is it playcalling or trust in the receivers? TMac isn’t a deep threat and XL can’t catch or make effort downfield. Coker is a possession receiver and Jimmy is only used on gadgets.

he was not throwing 50 yard bombs with ease
What I think it was we knew there was no chance of playoffs or anything so Canales just let him do whatever.
I feel like he wanted to play conservative and focus more on the run while we still had a very slim shot of making it to a playoff game because they still don’t trust Bryce or think he’s the guy.
That’s just my opinion but it seems like it could be true 😂
So basically he can do it, we’re finding success when he does it, but we’re just not doing it for some reason?
50 yards?!? LOL!
Bryce could only dream of throwing it that far.
“50 yard bombs with ease“ is wild haha.

I’m convinced he’s playing through his ankle sprain and is why they’ve gameplanned for such shorter throws the last two games.
Prior to the Buffalo game, Bryce was taking more deep shots and middle of the field attempts.
Yall said he couldn’t do it but it looks like he’s not allowed..
I’ve said this in several threads, I’m not sure the OL can hold up long enough for receivers to get open that far downfield. Could also be a speed issue with receivers?
Why would Panthers throw deep when offense can run for 100-200 yards in multiple games? The offense has changed, but it’s not a play action deep pass scheme. Why do fans assume if those deep passes are thrown, that they will connect or be positive for staying on script?
I think anyone who isnt operating off of emotions and vibes can see its a multi faceted issue. Nice to see some data that supports that.
Like no one, not even Bryce “defenders” are arguing hes playing well, but if you think about it for more than a second you can see the factors Canales and our WR’s play in our abysmal passing game
I’m not sure I’ve seen him easily throw any pass beyond about 15 yards. He has trouble generating power without stepping really hard into his throws – which throws the accuracy off and one reason why he’s had so many interceptions.
I think it’s simply his arm has trouble making deeper passes. The ball velocity isn’t there. I think that’s reflective of his 4th highest INT rate in the NFL yet one of the lowest ADoTs. I’m willing to bet most of his INTs are on 10+ yard throws and it’s a mixture of him not reading defenses and his weak arm letting defenders undercut and intercept the throws.
Just this past game – Bryce’s first INT (which he got bailed on out on because of a bogus roughing call) was an attempt of about 14 yards where the defender undercut his throw because he didn’t see them. His 2nd was about 10 yard throw where Bryce’s arm just looks so weak he can’t get the ball where he wants it – he floats a horrible pass to TM that is intercepted with ease. Just looking at this game against one of the softest opponents we see why they don’t want to call too many deeper passes and routes. The rate of INTs on deeper throws is just so high you will never win especially with this weak defense.
Add in the weak WR room and it looks to me like we’re playing the best style we can – run first using timing, comebacks, and play action to generate as safe a passing game as we can with our limited QB.
The team needs to implement some designed roll out pass plays, with the option for Bryce to run it if needed. Let’s not fool ourselves and act like Bryce doesn’t occasionally make a nice clutch throw when he escapes the pocket. He’s clearly not a Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, stand in the pocket and drop bombs.
I miss my downfield demon 😞
I will say that most of his deep throws were to Adam
Week 17 last year. 48 yards through the air, effortless dime.
