The Mavericks have now officially announced "that the organization has relieved Nico Harrison of his role as general manager and president of basketball operations effective immediately."

The evil is dead.

  1. Hire Lindsay as our GM, ethically tank while Coop wins ROTY, draft Peterson, trade AD for a young star and draft capital, then we kickoff 26 with Kyrie and a bang!

  2. I assume this opens the door to a fast rebuild revolving around Flag.

Mavs have their own first in a stacked class this year, but AD could never be traded by Nico. Door is open…

  3. Should’ve happened nine months ago, but better late than never! The clouds are starting to part for this team 🥳

  4. There’s a part of this that makes it worse. Glad he’s gone, but Luka gone forever and there wasn’t even enough conviction to try and sell the idea that they believed in this at all? Actually firing Nico couldn’t have come soon enough, but man… the whole thing just an outrageous spit in the face to Mavs fans from start to finish. Luka would drop 60 if he was playing today.

  5. You can’t excuse the Luka trade, ever. But credit to Dumont in this one thing: Nico didn’t even make it a full season after that trade. If he quickly corrects this by removing Nico AND bringing in the right management, it’ll be a sign he’s about winning…hopefully. You’re not going to see him sell the team, people. So hope for that much, at least.

  6. People need to realize the Dumonts and Adelsons are here to stay. They aren’t selling a team just a couple years after buying it, especially with much they’re spending lobbying for gambling and all the other shit they’re doing.

It’s a start, but if that’s a deal breaker for people understandable. I’m genuinely shocked we’ve got the firing today and even the letter acknowledging the need to course-correct

  7. This bitch deserves every bad thing that comes his way. Anyone that employs him in any executive or managerial role in the future also deserves any bad thing that comes their way.

  8. The ironic thing about his last game being the Bucks was that the last point was off a Kuzma steal – which was who he wanted before that trade was shut down. Kinda poetic

  9. Dumont to write a letter to fans later today…wow what a coincidence he was sitting next to a “random” fan yesterday and telling him how bad he feels about this all and that fans “story” just happened to make it out to everyone. That fan was a PLANT the photoOp was the precursor to set up today. Dumbass Dumont trying to save his job as well.

  10. I’m glad it happened but it took way too long. He should have been fired the day after trading Luka. Now they have to save face bc the team sucks.
