Would you trade for him, if it meant giving up Bryce Eldridge? I 100% would, he's the best 2B in the game right now

  1. I’d have to think real hard about that one. Bryce’s power in AZ means he’s more like a 40 hr/yr potential. Is it worth getting Marte but having to deal with a hitter like Eldridge in the division and likely pissed off for greatness every time he plays the team that traded him away?

  2. I probably wouldn’t I think we need more homegrown talent to come up through the ranks again and marte is already 32

  3. I’d do it and eat Corbin Burnes’ contract while we’re at it. Maybe just maybe they’ll bite without Eldridge.

  4. Marte has been excellent for 3 seasons. But 2026 will be his age 32 season. If he were 3 years younger this would be an interesting hypothetical, but as it stands no way do I trade Eldridge for him

  5. This team isn’t a Marte away from reaching the World Series. That’s the only outcome worth giving up on Eldridge. Hopefully most of the moves this offseason are for pitching and building for the near future.

  6. Marte is stellar, no doubt. But trading for him wouldn’t solve the bigger needs of starting and relief pitching

So I’d be surprised if they dealt Eldridge for Marte, but with Devers here for a longgggg time, I’d be less surprised if they dealt Bryce somewhere (*cough* Minnesota *cough cough*) to get an ace pitcher + solid or upside reliever
