  1. Okay, but like, that doesn’t change his decline the last 2-3 seasons as a top defenseman

  2. 101.83 into the boards when he misses or the glass when it’s high and wide means absolutely nothing. This guy couldn’t hit a soccer net with his shot.

  3. He’s always had a crazy hard shot. Almost never able to wield it effectively. Good player in a lot of ways, but mostly a disappointment offensively.

  4. I hadn’t noticed the winky face.

But I think to put some words into your mouth, the slap shot speed does not matter at all. You have to get it on net for it to even matter, and he rarely does that. I mean really….he probably has 2-3 slapshot goals per season, if that. Whatever.

More importantly, he made a blind pass in his own zone in overtime no less, which almost ended the Devils game in the exact opposite fashion from how it ultimately ended up. Barzal grabbed the puck in the slot and absolutely saved his ass. If Barzal doesn’t get that puck, it’s in the back of our net. Very different outcome. Playing like that, Pulock has no business being out there in the first shift of overtime hockey. He’s probably a perfectly fine 3rd pairing d-man, but that’s it.

  5. I was at an apple store a few years ago replacing my phone and got chatting with another customer. Never got his name, but turns out he was a hockey player who at the time was playing in Sweden (he was American and back in the States for the summer). He noticed my Isles hat and mentioned that he’d played in Bridgeport alongside Ryan Pulock when the two were minor leaguers. Said Pulock hit him with a shot at one point and it broke his leg.

  6. Sort of related, but does anyone else remember when Pelech got thrown into the hardest shot competition and uncorked a 102 MPH clapper? That shit was crazy.

  7. I’ve seen Pulock accidentally break 2 teammates legs in the AHL with that hammer. He has a special slap shot for anyone whose been on the ice with him
