Not mad about Finnie and Kane. Confused on the Compher move but I’ll wait and see.
If only we signed (or traded for) a top six winger and/or a top 4 dman this roster would slot much more appropriately. Maybe next year. Maybe trade deadline? Probably next year, maybe. And if we make playoffs those players will be much easier to acquire/much more interested in coming here.
Finally moved Finnie off the top line. I love the kid, but he’s been ineffective there recently. Let’s see what he can do with a passer like Kane.
Rasmussen back on the wing – he’s always struggled at C. Maybe this will help him find his game.
That second line center is the biggest hole amongst the forwards at the moment. Really hope Danielson can ascend into that role.
The 2C issue rears its head once again.
Without Kasper performing like a 2C, the middle is weak. We’re once again hoping that the wings can carry the 2C, or pray Danielson moves up or Kasper gets his mojo back.
I dislike splitting up Kane/Cat because they’re a proven commodity, but Todd can only do so much with moving around what is essentially our only 4 scorers on the roster.
Really dig that third line I tell you what
I’m happy to see JBD back in the lineup.
So we have 1 first line, 2 third lines and fourth up front and 1 first pair D and 2 third pairs. And 2 backup goalies. Wonderful team building!
Honestly Kasper – Danielson – Kane would be a way better line. I get Kasper lost his mojo but I like that third line way more than the second.
Still wishing they’d try Kasper on 1LW again to try and get him going. Surprised it hasn’t been considered since we’re trying to mix up the lines a little. Since we’re giving Compher the shot at 2C I’d like to try:
Kasper-Larkin-Raymond
Kane-Compher-ADB
Finnie-Danielson-Appleton
Ras/Soda/Berg-Copp-JVR

Stop trying to make Ras happen…
Much rather move Kasper up to 1 and Copp 2C
Afraid we’re going back to Lalonde, did the same mixing up of lines all the time
Same ingredients will yield a very similar result. The Wings aren’t going to win much now as much as we want them to. But they can be better and should be a bubble playoff team. The issue isn’t talent as much as it is resilience. As someone else said, this team is as soft as baby shit. The roster needs a major shakeup and nobody should be safe from the trading block. The players that have been here the longest have losing ingrained in their attitudes and on-ice demeanor. They fold under any adversity. New players come into the room and seem to lower their aggressiveness so as to not outdo the established leadership. I’m definitely calling out Larkin but I’m calling out Seider as well. That guy is crazy talented but isn’t playing with an edge.
Any word on pp units today? Im really hoping they put asp on the top unit over seider!
I’m an armchair coach/Gm for sure. But what do we think about
Kasper/Larkin/Raymond (worked when Kasper rose up)
Cat Danielson Kane
Finnie Compher Apps
Ras Copp JVR?
I think the D pairings are fine, but I’d be tempted to swap AlJo for Chiarot.
Big thing is I think Danielson having smooth mitts with good passing makes Kane more of a weapon passing OR shooting, and gives even more options to Cat to score with as now he’s got two legitimate passers and Kane specifically we know can score at will.
Finnie’s hustle and skating fits the third line perfect imo and he’s not going up against potential Selke winners every night. Fits App’s game too with his hustle and battling. Compher has shown at least a little scoring touch?
Todd sending a big message to Kasper
Yesss, they’re finally switching the lines up.
Raymond and Kasper really need to pick it up.
Ras needs to hit the road.
i wish line 2 was Kasper-Danielson-Kane
Probably not a good idea to split up Kane and Cat but we’ll see..
I’ll take the blame for Kaspers slow start. I picked him for my hockey pool so he was destined for failure
Ew
Compher very much strikes me as the type to elevate his game if he’s given more responsibility, but at the same time “mail it in” if he’s out of favor. I think he finally realizes he has to buy in and try to get back to being a 50 point center, or his career isn’t going to end the way he’d like.
Debrincat is going to have a career year if he stays up top. His skating looks incredible this year. He looks super aggressive but completely under control.
Finnie is a Swiss army knife player, and I would bet he settles around 3rd line in a contender year, but could easily be plugged in anywhere.
Kasper is going to get rolling, but he needs to find his niche, his edge. The skill and the attitude are both there.
Nate Danielson is a high floor wildcard and it will be really interesting to see see how his game evolves in the big league.
Also, Max Plante, Cossa, Augustine, Buchelnikov, Bear!

I’m just glad JBD is back in over Hamonic.
