I genuinely think that RTP he took was great for him.
In the preseason, and once first came in during the season, he looked antsy once pressure started. If his first and second read was there, he looked great. But if they weren’t, he would get happy feet and panic and usually take a sack. I thought it was just nerves, but thinking about it, I’m wondering if he was scared of contact he couldn’t see due to all his injuries in college that made him stay there so long.
He got lit the fuck up, and since then he has been so much calmer under pressure. Maybe he took the lick and realized damn, I’m all right. I can do this!
Or maybe he just adjusted really quickly and I’m spouting nonsense 😂
Either way, he improved a ton just from the rams game to the panthers game alone. Excited to see how he progresses
That play was insane, his awareness moving inside the pocket while protecting the ball and still being able to see downfield. If Mahomes had done it we’d be watching this play at least 100 times this week.

Most of the QBs you think are coming out aren’t coming out so wouldn’t take a QB regardless. Shough would have to look really bad these next 7 games for us to consider 1.

Don’t forget that dart to Kamara’s feet to avoid the safety. Whether coached or not, that showed veteran awareness, and may have been the true key to the win.

I agree and hope he gets a fair shake but…..I mean, this WAS against the Panthers.
He looked good but let’s remember it’s one game. Reminds me of the first NFL game of another 2nd round QB: Will Levis. His first start against the Falcants, he had 300 yards, good completion % and 4 passing TDs. But that was the peak of his career and it was all downhill from there.
Hoping Shough is different but it’s still way too early to proclaim him our franchise Qb
