[Aaronson] The Sixers have made an addition to their injury report for tonight’s game vs. Boston: Joel Embiid — right knee soreness — OUT Worth noting that this is not the knee Embiid had scoped in April and has been managing for a long time.

  1. > Sixers say Embiid is being evaluated by team doctors and “further updates will be provided as appropriate.”

Also he wasn’t even questionable yesterday, not on injury report at all. So just happened today in the morning? Got to hope they’re just being ultra cautious.

  2. THIS IS HIS OTHER KNEE, not the one he had surgery on! Hopefully this is a minor injury.

Still waiting on the PG update…………

  3. Just what we needed, now his other knee that’s not surgically repaired is causing him to miss games. And all this happens on a minutes restriction. Not exactly promising. And keep in mind he’s already missed 4 games due to load management.

  4. And people really thought he could last potentially two months of postseason basketball, when it’s twice the intensity as the regular season 💀

  5. Oh so it’s his other knee? Thats good news? Lmao don’t worry guys it’s not what we already know. It’s something new. I love embiid but this shit gets irritating

  6. Still trying to figure out in my head if it’s better that it’s not the left knee or worse that it’s the right knee

  7. I think they are being overly cautious with him, which is exactly what I would want. Meaningless games in November aren’t when we should want him to push his body.

  8. Well that stinks was looking forward to watching him tonight, hopefully its a day to day thing.

  9. Legit said to my wife: “Embiid is my saving grace tonight”. Immediately open Twitter to see the news. My jinx struck again

  10. Knee soreness on the OTHER knee is concerning, but hopeful that this is just them being extra cautious early in the year.

  11. He’s been off since Friday.

Enough knee soreness (which almost certainly means swelling) to keep him out three days later isn’t encouraging at all.

  12. Extending Embiid last off season was one of the worst decisions this franchise has made in recent memory, which is saying a lot. I don’t see how the Sixers will be a contender until his contract is off the books, by which point Maxey will be exiting his prime.

  13. No big deal. It’ll be fine. We just have to rest him on the second game of back to backs for the left knee, and rest him for all other games for the right knee.

  14. I wonder how long Embiid actually has me. Two years ago played a were saying he was playing with his knee hanging by a thread. He can barely stay on the court, his legs must be in pain all the time and his back.

  15. I blame myself, I swear anytime I have tickets to the game Embiid goes on the injury report a few hours before the game (unless he just does that before every game)

  16. Everyone relax. This is nothing to be worried about if you think about it. The Sixers have been much more cautious when it comes to injuries this year, and Embiid will have an entire WEEK of rest (Raptors to Pistons). Since we can win without him, it’s a smart decision.

  17. Bruh this team. 100 mil in payroll who play 25% of their total games. How can we even sniff a respectable playoff seed let alone do shit in the playoffs with this BS. Fucking crippled bums

  18. Listen, I love Joel Embiid. He has given everything he has to this team and this city, but it is time to move on. We CANNOT be a contender if we are going into EVERY season, EVERY game asking ourselves “is this guy going to be healthy?” It has been TEN YEARS, I AM TIRED OF IT

  19. People need to chill out. Guys the size of Embiid are sore all the time. Embiid is almost certainly sore as shit after every single game. They aren’t going to list him on the injury report every time he’s sore. They probably waited to see if it went away the next day and when it didn’t, they opted to be cautious. If they put Embiid on the injury report every time he was sore, he’s literally never not be on it.

It’s better to have more of Embiid come playoff time than over a 3 games in 4 days stint in November.
