Weird that we’re not hiring from in house. They LOVE to do that in this org.
Just reading around on Twitter but a lot of M’s fans and writers are talking about how big of a piece he was in operations for them, and that losing him is going to hurt.
Not sure how true this is, but read that supposedly he was in line to be promoted to a bench coach role, but their director of PD left and he was promoted there instead
Will news have a story on [MLB.com](http://MLB.com) soon about McKay’s hiring, but I am intrigued by this. The Mariners routinely have had one of the best farm systems in baseball in recent years, and McKay has been a key figure in Seattle’s front office on the player development side.
Feels weird to go from front office to the field. Seems like a step down
What about a hitting coach?
Can he play right field?
