Miami Heat Dropped By ESPN In Spite Of Strong Start | Cavs Resting Mitchel and Mobley In Rematch

We uh we talked a lot of Miami Heat basketball and um it’s gooseies galore right now. I’m I’m I’m riveted by this team. I am I am so excited about this season and I I really hope that Heat Nation is as well. Tomorrow night they debut the Vice Court, the new Vice Court and the Vice Knights are making their return. The new Vice Court I mean pristine dude. I mean they did a 10 out of 10 job with this new court and the Vice Knights are my favorite jersey. I think the Vice Knights are the last jersey that I bought. The Miami Heat were kind enough to give me a um whatever they call the blue one. They gave us they gave us one of those and that was really cool of them. But the last jersey I spent money on was a Dwayne Wade Vice Knights jersey. That’s the last That’s the last time I bought a jersey. And I still have it. It’s still in great condition. I don’t wear it very much. I think I’ve worn it probably three times. I’m not a huge jersey guy. I don’t feel like I can pull that look off as cool. Um, so I don’t wear jerseys much, but I do like them. I like having jerseys. I have a UD, I have a Zo, I have these jerseys, but I just don’t wear them very often. But that was the last one I was like, I have to have that jersey. And it’s very exciting. It’s very exciting that it’s back. I I now I buy a lot of Heat gear. I just bought this new heat hat from the heat store. Uh I bought a new heat shirt, but I need to get it smaller. So, I’m going to return that. But, um that’s the risk of buying things online. You kind of got to roll the dice on that stuff. Core culture can be a little bit wonky, you know, for the uh for the big fellas like me. I’m like, are all the X’s or some I don’t know. I’m not really sure. You tell me. Um so, this one needed fewer X’s, which is good news. So, the Vice Knights are back. That’s exciting. Um, and then they’re taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers. And the Cavaliers, now I’m I I feel two ways about this because the Cavaliers lose this last game. And Ira Winderman tweeted out their injury report and I was very confused. I was like, what? They’re basically resting everybody. It says Cavs turning in a uh Wednesday into a day of rest. Darius Garland’s out with a toe. He’s probably going to be out for a little bit. Max Shre has been out. Uh Jaylen Tyson suffered a concussion, so he’s out. And then Evan Mobley and Donovan Mitchell out. They’re not playing either one of them. And I I guess I’m just a little confused by that. like, you know, they this is it’s a little bit weird because they have been in Miami. Um, now they go back to Cleveland the next day to take on the Raptors, you know, so it’s not like this big faunted challenge, but you know, they haven’t tra It’s like it’s not like they flew into Miami and then they got to go to Cle like they flew into they’ve been in Miami for the whole week and you’re just not going to play the next game. Like that’s a that’s a huge bummer that and and I don’t really know what to make of that. Now, we know that K Kenny Atinson, who I have a lot of respect. I like Kenny Atkinson, but he was a big baby after the game. He was sitting here whining and crying about the free throws. And it almost I don’t know if this is a an FU to the league. I don’t know if this is an FU to the Heat. I don’t really I don’t know if it’s because the Heat took his lunch money and so he’s like, you know what, I don’t want to give him another matchup because they had this mental hold on the Miami Heat. you know, it’s not like you’re going to get some substantial, you know, advantage on scouting. Like they have DeAndre Hunter and Lonzo Ball now. Like they’re not this drastically different team. Uh you’ll probably will probably get a big dose of Thomas Bryant. Um I’m just confused by this and I’m I’m a little down about it. Like, hey, this is supposed to be a big test. The Heat won round one. Let’s Let’s go. Let’s like like check ball. Let’s have let you you did all that bitching and moaning about the referees and now you’re not going to show up. Now look, obviously this can turn into we we know how this went last year. The Heat facing teams that didn’t have the full deck and that was uh look ahead city. I don’t think this team will do that. I feel like they’re a little bit too um locked in on getting to know one another and and and respect that and I don’t think that’s going to happen. doesn’t mean they’ll win, but obviously this is really really strange. And Miami is a a now a heavy favorite against a Cavs team that’s just playing nobody. And I I just I gotta tell you like this is why the league is the league had such a great night on Monday between the Wiggins buzzer beater, the OT game in Detroit, Bane had a buzzer beater, big game from Webby, big game from the Lakers, everything they could have asked for. They got this monster news day with Nico Harrison getting fired. And I want to get into that in a little bit about this uh the uh the Anthony Davis thing because now everybody’s linking it to the Heat. You got Zack Low doing it today. But one of the things that sucks about this league and everybody hates and thankfully the Heat the Heat are taking an opposite approach on a lot of stuff and yes they don’t have necessar they haven’t been in these long grueling um runs but it’s not like the Cavaliers have been going to the finals every year you know like let’s let’s chill out Jack you guys have had a lot of game a lot of shortcomings in the postseason kicking our ass aside so and Donovan Mitchell’s not one of these guy, you know, it’s not it’s not like this is a backtoback. I know they have a backtoback, but they’ve stayed in the same city. So, I don’t know. I just think it’s soft and I don’t really get it from Kenny Atkinson. Um would love to know what he’s going to say before the game as to why he’s going about this because two of these are just being rest like rest. Rest from what? It’s November. We’ve had 11 games. They need rest. Who? You’re one of the mar the East is looked already upon as JV Conference. You’re looked upon as one of the marquee teams based on your regular seasons the last couple years. You’re not you’re going to do the thing that the Sixers did. You’re going to try and like skate your way. And I’ll tell you, the Heat are doing an opposite thing, right? cuz the Heat the Heat have been practicing a bunch especially when they’re home and so the Heat had this series like they had this overtime game the next day boom practice uh and there was some interesting things from practice the uh the Heat today you saw Bam Adabio uh video from Ira and Anthony Chang I saw of Bamaio out of his boot doing some drills in sneakers um getting some shooting but that was obviously a good sign this bam Look, Bam’s a bit of a Wolverine, but I do I will tell you, you guys know I do a show with Leroy Horde. Leroy is like my injury encyclopedia, and he’s always telling me to be like, “Hey, just careful, you know, and and toes. I don’t know if there’s anything my my guy fears more than toe injuries.” And as you’re seeing with uh Darius Garland, who had a worse injury, he had to get turf toe surgery. Tough injury. He’s been dealing with this last year. Um I do want them to be careful with Bam. I I don’t want this to be a a rush back. Similarly to Tyler, you know, I want everybody to be back and I want them to be full go and ready to go. Um, but Bam doesn’t like to miss games. I mean, that’s just that’s just that’s what he’s that’s what he’s made of. And so, it’s not surprising to see him uh you know, back there working. He is not playing against the uh against the Cavs, but we’ll see. We’ll see. Uh we’ll see. So, you know, I I just hope that they are they are careful with that. But, uh, yeah, he is out. Tyler’s out. Terra Roier is obviously not with the team. Also on the injury report from Ira, Drew Smith has a knee injury. Kaware is a hip. Da’Von Mitchell has a back. Jame Hawkins is an ankle as we know, but they are all available for the Wednesday night game. Um, but yeah, I just that didn’t sit well with me. And again, like I don’t want to I don’t want to rip too much and then I look a fool tomorrow night on the recap because, you know, the Heat blew it to the Cavaliers backups. Um, but I don’t I will say this Heat this Heat team different cloth this year. They feel like they got a different mentality. I just don’t like the move from Kenny Atinson. I think it’s weak sauce. I think it’s weak sauce. I think he was a big baby in the game yesterday and now this is a weak sauce move to to tuck tail and not play Moy and and Donovan Mitchell in another game. that I really just don’t to to save yourself for the Raptors. All right, cool. It’s November, dude. I think everybody will be all right. But it’s it is what it is. That’s what everybody’s doing. It’s what everybody’s doing. They they love to they love the maintenance program. How many teams does that pay off for? I I just, you know, it’s it’s so And I get this like I and I it’s just a frustrating thing. Like look, I love Jimmy Butler. Um, but you know, he had these things before the season. It was like he was always cranking up the body to get it ready for the second half run. But it’s a frustrating thing. It’s a frustrating thing. This league feels like it’s gotten off to a really good start with just the basketball and not needing the moves and the young stars and some fun teams, but I don’t know, disappointing for the Cavaliers to do that. Then another disappointing thing happened and that was that ESPN decided to drop Heat Warriors from its national schedule and the Miami Heat game got moved back. It was scheduled for 7. It got pushed back to 7:30. So noteed if you have tickets and you were coming for Jimmy Butler’s return. And I again I was like, okay, like I was going to go either way. Like I wasn’t going to watch it on television, so no bigs for me. Um other than it’s going to be a little bit later, but why? Like why the the Heat are playing really well. Like if the Heat stunk up the joint to start the year, okay, I would hear you out. I would understand. But they’ve been awesome. And not only have they been awesome, the Miami seven-4, third in the East as I do this right now. I have not I’m not keeping up with tonight’s games. Uh who do we got tonight? You got the Knicks in action. The Knicks are on their way to beating the Grizzlies. So, they’ll be more infold than the two seed. But the Heat are tied at seven and four with three other teams. So, they’re a top essentially a top three team in in the in the East right now. And and I don’t know, I haven’t looked amongst the top six, but I gota imagine the Miami Heat are the only team to beat New York and Cleveland this year in the East. May I, you know, maybe I am, maybe I’m off on that. I don’t know. Um, the Knicks, well, they can’t beat themselves and they didn’t beat the Heat. the Knicks. Um, yeah, I don’t know. I I don’t I you know, so the Heat have beaten some quality, like for example, Detroit’s off to a great start and and I’m I’m a I I like Detroit. Obviously, I love Duncan Robinson. Dunkyard dog. Um, fan of Kate Cunningham. Jaylen Durren’s a beast. Um, they’re feisty. They’re fun. I’m a believer that they will be good. Believer. No, their schedule, their wins, their record. It’s I said this about the Sixers when they start off. I was like, it’s a lot of Nets and Wizards in there and they’ve kind of come they they come back to earth when they’re taking on some real teams. No shame in it, right? Like the Heat had a hard road trip and the Heat went one and three. And I was like, it’s not great, but it’s not like the most disappointing thing in the world. and they’ve come home and they’ve played, you know, well against a terrible Charlotte team, a a red-hot Portland team and now they beat one of the better teams in the East. Um, without without Bam Adabio and for the most part, they’ve beaten they haven’t had Tyler Herro all season. So, sure, I’ll have some snarky ass Cavaliers and Knicks fan. We didn’t have Mitchell Robinson, you know. It’s like, okay, dude. Well, guess what? You know what? We didn’t have Tyler Hero. Congratulations. You just we we just won the we didn’t have battle. You’re welcome. Thanks for bringing that one to the table. So, my point being is so the Heat by performance who they’ve beaten in the East um at seven and four compared to like you know who is Detroit’s best win this year. the Magic who’ve been a little downtrodden this year. They smoked them and they beat the Rockets. So again, it’s no shade at them. I’m just saying like, hey, who have you beaten so far? I think everybody looks at the Knicks and the and the the Cavs and say, “Yeah, those are two good teams. The Heat have beaten them both.” Um I I haven’t done the research. I don’t know how many people have that feather in their cap, but they do. They do. So that just is what it is right now. And so we get the news that ESPN’s dropping Miami and Golden State for Jimmy Butler’s second game back in Miami. It’ll be his uh second game against the Heat. Um and I’m a little confused as to why. So I looked the night before and I there’s a couple of things that I’m wondering. So they are playing the Magic the Tuesday beforehand. They have the Pelicans on Sunday. So it’s a third game in four nights. They got the Pelicans, then they’re off Monday. Tuesday then they’re in Orlando, and then Wednesday they take on the Miami Heat. And so part of me was like, okay, did they? And then they return home. Then they return home for a home stand. So it’s the it’s getaway day for them. And this is part of a what is this? Uh it’s the last day of a six six game road trip. Seven game road trip. Six game road trip. Learn how to count toes. Six game road trip. So part of me was like, okay, did ESPN flex out of this game because they got word that, hey, like, hey, we’re not gonna we’re definitely not playing everybody that game. We might not play Jimmy Butler. And if you’re not playing Jimmy Butler, if Jimmy Butler’s not playing back to backs, um, then, you know, that kind of loses the juice of the game, right? Like it’s the Heat versus Jimmy. That’s the whole cell of the game. Also, if Bam’s not back now, you don’t have Jimmy against his former teammates. It’s Jimmy just against guys in heat jerseys, basically. Um, you got the Wiggins thing, but I don’t know if like Wiggins is the national cell. So, I’m just trying to figure out like why they’re doing this. But when I saw that the the Warriors are on a getaway day, I was like, well, maybe they’re scared that nobody’s going to play this game. But again, it’s still, you know, it’s still the Warriors. There’s still a draw. And then the Heat are playing really great basketball. Like the Heat have not played to a place where they deserve to get a game dropped. I think the game they picked up was Cavs and Rockets, which yeah, it’s a it’s a good matchup. I’m not I’m not denying that. It’s a it’s a good game. You got Kevin Durant and the Rockets playing good ball. They’re going to Cleveland. Should be a good show. I get it. Um, but I just it’s not like this must-see game over a Jimmy if Jimmy Butler were to play. Like I think Jimmy Butler’s second game in Miami and that feels like something that that should warrant a lot of attention and especially if Steph were to play. Steph didn’t play in the last game. So, I was very much looking forward to seeing what the coverage of this game would be. But listen, I’ll be boots on the ground either way, so it doesn’t matter uh for me. But I just I was a little pissed off, you know? I’m trying to I’m trying to temper my moods on things. Like I don’t want to get this stuff to bother me so much cuz I get it. The Heat are young. They’re up and coming. The bums won’t talk about it. Like let’s be real about it. You know, I’m like listening to all these these these jackals on the podcast sphere. And you know what do the kids say? Glazing. They’re out here glazing. You know, all all every Webinama game and every Luca game and every Pistons game. And here are the Heat. And it’s like I don’t know what it is with people not being able to talk about the Heat, you know, and and there are certain ones who can for real like you know I give Zach Low his props. Like Zach Low can mention guys. Um I think Tim Leggler does a good job. Although Tim Leggler, you said we were boring, dude, and we are far from boring. So kiss my ass on that one respectfully. Um but you know, I was listening to I saw a clip Heat Culture tweeted this out. It was like a clip from Run It Back and they’re just like, “Yeah.” And and that’s not the greatest show in the world. It’s it’s Michelle Beetle and Chandler Parsons, Lou Williams, and Boogie Cousins. And they’re just like, “He cultures fast now, bro.” I’m just like, “Yo, thanks, dudes. Appreciate you guys nailed it. Thanks for that analysis.” You Norman Powell like is he culture? He might be the most heat culture. Cool. All right. Thank you. Appreciate it, guys. Thank you for that. So, yeah, old Tobs would be definitely losing his mind about this to be like, are you serious? You’re really you’re really you’re dumping the heat for who? The Cleveland Cowards who don’t don’t even want to play the Heat because they get too many free throws against them. And I mean I hope ESPN I hope I hope Kenny Atinson doesn’t bail out of this game dude. I hope he doesn’t. I hope he doesn’t. So that’s crazy to me, man. That’s crazy. This team playing the way that it is. Everybody’s saying this is like the most free flowing fast offense. They’ve been in thrilling games. You know, they’re they’re riding high right now. They’re playing great basketball. Um, and everybody’s just like, “Me, what ifs. Beat the Cavaliers. Kiss my ass. We’re going We’re going to put the Cavaliers on TV. They That’s what we need. More Cavaliers on television. More more More Kevin Durant. More Kevin Durant. You’ll miss out. You know what, America? if you, you know, go find yourself a pirate link because if you know what, if you’re, you’re going to miss out, you’re going to miss out on the Miami Heat against the Golden State Warriors, whether Jimmy plays and Steph plays or not, because you want to know what the real show in town is. The real show in town is Norman Powell. The real show in town is Haime Hakez Jr. The real show in town is Maple Jordan, Andrew Wiggins. The real show in town is Yovich, dude. Okay. The warehouse. Simony Fonteio Mama. Hell, you might miss the debut of Casper Shakonas. You probably won’t miss the debut of Casper Shakon, but maybe you will. Swedish Swiss Pella Larson, you’re lost, dude. You’re lost. Not ours. You’re lost. America, enjoy uh more of that. Kenny Atinson whining about free throws. All right. Enjoy that. Please, by all means have have fun with that. I’m not getting enough free kicked out of the game. Go suck my thumb. Whatever, dude. Kiss my ass.
