How are they actively forgetting the part where Nico gaslit the entire fanbase by tearing up tributes, posters, taking down any sign of luka, throwing out fans who supported luka, fans who wore shirts that only had him as a clown, yelled at Nico. None of that. I feel like looking back, that is also important part of this story bc that just further enraged the fan base. He thought he was above a fan base
The Luka trade itself was diabolical, but beyond that, it was the way Nico treated the people around him—burning bridges with people like Dirk and Casey Smith, and acting smug and arrogant, as if he were the most knowledgeable guy in the room.
Why did this all have to happen to us though
I’ll never not be pissed because our cupboard is bare on top of all this bs. And we’re filing the 4 biggest rivals/hated teams cupboards instead, 3 with picks and one with Luka.
My logical brain says we’re heading down a Charlotte/New orleans future, but i hope I’m just as wrong as can be.
This asshole traded title contending for a decade for nothing. Imagine if the nba didn’t gift us Cooper.
Give Nick Wright credit here

What a time. Gonna be a while before the franchise overcomes this moron’s destruction. Hopefully these owners sell and get out of this business cuz they’re just not cut out for this shit.
The more I hear about Nico, the more I’m shocked how he keeps getting positions of influence.
Yes. Trade AD. Trade Kyrie. Trade Klay. This “experiment” is over. We’re just going to have to plan for 2031. Man… Nico and Dumont trashed an organization.
SELL THE TEAM
Shouldn’t be allowed….you can say that again lol
You’ll never get those 4-5 first round picks you lost. That’s the end result. Doesn’t matter your opinion on Luka.
Nico nuked this franchise.

Starting to feel like it’s going to be years until we’re making noise.
You guys blame Nico, fine to a degree, but you need to look above him. That’s who’s really to blame.
I really do like Nick Wright
Everything said in this clip is true
The best thing the mavs can do is hire back Casey smith at 4x his current salary and guaranteed for 10 years. He keeps players healthy – end of story – and now we are riddled with injury plagued veterans so – Dumont, pick up the phone and call him
He explains perfectly just how bad of a situation the Mavs are in.
The Mavs own their 1st round pick this year, but they are giving away or swapping their #1 pick (with very good teams, resulting in trading our good pick for their bad picks) for the next 4 years after this year. If the new GM can’t build a playoff team with that single pick and the trade assets we already have, we could potentially be giving away 4 lottery picks in the next 5 years… 3 to top western conference teams.
If Dallas is a lottery team by the end of that time, we’re absolutely screwed. Imagine getting 1 or 2 or 3 or even 4 Number 1-5 picks in a row… only to have them go to other teams because of Nico… while the team remains locked in the basement.
The only real hope of recovering from the mess Nico made, is to start tanking immediately and getting a good pick this season… and start trading away everyone with any value, getting back only expiring contracts and draft picks. Go full on 1990s Mavs. Suffer through it for as long as it takes to rebuild. The alternative is to try to win now, and have no hope at all once the current team fails to do so.
And to the Lakers of all teams
