  1. If the protections lead to unprotected following year firsts, then I’d think about it. It’s hard because I don’t think they need to do the trade to keep the pick this year, but those are two top-5 prospects and I have a lot of faith in JIvey. I’d hope they could get a 3rd first personally to make me feel like it’s a haul you have to take

  2. This aint bad…..im not sure wed take it, but a lot more thought went into this then a lot of trade proposals that come through here.

  3. Jazz pass

    Harris is expiring, Jaden doesn’t fit the future of the team as Key, and Walter are less injury prone for guards, so I doubt they’d want to use their free agency capspace to retain him, when they can sign someone else. 2 protected picks in a Pistons team with Cade, Lauri, and Duren will be worthless to the Jazz

  4. The jazz are now at a point where they have to decide how much talent they can realistically develop at one time. While Ivey has been in the league long enough to be developed he is still relatively young, but Holland is young in a position that we already are struggling to distribute minutes in.

    I don’t see the Jazz taking it.

  5. I think the only way we come to the table is if Ausar is negotiable. But that feels quite unlikely, especially considering that the Pistons probably aren’t looking to fix what isn’t broken.

    If they’re floundering around the 9/10 seed come the trade deadline, there’s maybe some merit to this from their side. Either way, I don’t think the deal gets done

  6. I think that is not a good enough return for Lauri Markkanen.

    Lauri would be a great fit for the Pistons, like he would on any team with his three-point shooting and scoring at his height. He is also a good defender.

    Before considering a deal with the Pistons, Austin Ainge should at least ask the Spurs about trading Dylan Harper for Lauri and the Lakers 2027 pick. What’s the worst that can happen, they say no?

    The deal I’d offer them…

    * Spurs get: Lauri Markkanen, Svi Mikhailiuk, Isaiah Collier + 2027 Lakers 1st round pick.
    * Jazz get: Dylan Harper and matching salaries (Harrison Barnes, Kelly Olynyk).

    That’s a heck of a good deal for the Spurs. Their roster will be better than the OKC Thunder, Denver Nuggets or Houston Rockets. With Markkanen at PF, the Spurs should be favorites to win multiple titles in the next 4-5 years. That is worth a Dylan Harper, in my humble opinion.

    * 1-5: Fox, Vassell, Keldon, **Markkanen**, Wemby
    * 6-12: Laughlin/**Collier**, Castle, Champagnie/**Mikhailiuk**, Sochan, Kornet
