Game Highlights: Blues 3, Flames 2

He’s certainly got a lot of pressure on that Calgary Flames bench. They have not scored the last two games. Opening face off won by Divore D’vorski and it goes back to Cam Fowler who is sitting on 499 points. The Blues will dump it in miners between the AHL East Coast Hockey League. He certainly loves a top 10 power play ranked 10th 23.3%. Hollow’s pass went down into the corner and he put the pressure on to Anderson. Sudter finds Faulk. Final 15 on the power play. They score. Justin Faulk with the shot. The puck’s taken by Holloway and the St. Louis Blues get the power play goal. 901 to play first period. He’s starting to look like the player we saw last year. Here’s a look at the power play goal through our Berto Robo Cam. It’s just simple hockey. Justin Faulk says, “I have a lane to the net. You’re running low on time. The penalty is going to expire any second. Let’s just throw pucks there and you have presence in front.” Holloway has set his feet perfectly. He’s taking the eyes away at Dustin Wolf. He gets the forehand tip on it. Catch some kind of an edge. Flames are in. Shot gets blocked over to Sunquist. They got a chance to spring it. Kessle near wing. fires. Score Matt Kessle. Two to nothing St. Louis. 617 to play first period. You’re going to see transition hockey. How about Matthew Kessle jumping joining the rush. That’s a defensive. He comes goes a distance and test will far side. Look at this wrist shot right there. Goes across the body just over the pad under the blocker. into the slot to Coronado. Back hands Anderson out along the wing. Uber going back to Anderson. Oh, they deflected in front. Bennington scramles to keep it out and the puck back to the near side. Bennington’s going to make a kick save and a beauty. Look at that kick right there by the left foot. He’s sharp and ready to go here in this second period. We’re going to take one more look at it right here. It’s a shot from the outside. Look at him go down. Lots of push off the right foot and then he just sticks out that flipper. Lames on the draw to the far wing. Sunquist intercepts. Two nothing Blues. Both goals coming in the first. Knocked ahead to Torchenko. Bouncing put on. It rolls underneath the goalie. They score. Nathan Walker picks it up. Backhands it into a wide open net. Dustin Wolf stunned he was out of the crease. The Blues will take a three nothing lead. Here is Oscar Sunquist. Dink. Look at that play over five bodies right on the tape of Torpenko who gets one hand back in on it. Dustin Wolf cannot handle the rebound and Nathan Walker there to clean it up. There’s Torpenko. One hand on the stick. You see the puck squirt between the legs. Wolf cannot cover it. Nathan Walker stops in the blue paint and it’s three nothing on the goal by Walker at 720. Interference. Lacka in the box for roughing. Tucker in the box for interference. Blues and flames. Four on four. B far wing. Butch Navage to Thomas. Oh, and with an open net. It hit the post. Thomas, he can’t believe it. Look at him set his feet. He gets all the wood on it. Oh, it hits the crossbar. Off the blocker of Dustin Wolf. Not a fowler. Pinching, but the puck left along the wing. Walker will hold it in. Sunquist will battle to try to get there. Long pass comes out to Coronado. Fires and scores. Coronado goes high blocker on Jordan Bennington. It’s his third goal of the season against St. Louis. He beat Joe Hoffer in Calgary. Blocker side. He’s going to go blocker side right there on Jordan B. Watch how he’s skating. Stride, stride, stride, and then he shoots it. It’s very hard. It’s very hard to be predictable if you’re a goalender. See how he moves that right foot forward while shooting? That’s called shooting. Back to that two-goal lead. [Applause] It has always been a fascinating comment, yet a true when they talk about a two-goal lead being the worst lead in hockey. Anderson with a shot. He scores. It’s now a onegoal lead. And just like that, the Flames are right back in this hockey game. You see a couple flames bodies go across Bington’s eyes on those flash screens they call them and it is just a shot. Yeah. This time Sudter’s going to fall down on top of it. They center it through. Doesn’t get there. That’ll do it. Bring out the Zamboni. Jordan Bennington back stops the Blues to a big win on home ice.
