Roman Anthony makes an INSTANT IMPACT with the Red Sox! 👀 (2025 rookie season highlight)
And the Socks have runners at second and third with two down. So here now is Roman and a chance for his first big league hit which would be in a big spot. Swings it a liner to left field on the grass all the way up against the monster that’s going to score two. He takes off for second base. He’s got a double that drives in two and the Red Sox grab the early lead on an Anthony double. I mean look at this change up. That’s a good pitch. It’s out off the plate, but he’s adjusting cuz he’s seen it twice already. That’s a quick adjustment for a very young hitter. Little lop shot into right coming on Anthony sliding and he caught it. What a fine play. Golden Anthony so far this night has belonged to number 19. Really nice play there. Yeah, this is a nice play. Kind of charging it, sinking high drive. It’s nice too knowing, you know, you got to take your shots out here in right field. You got Sidon behind you trying to take a hit away. If it gets by you, Sidon’s got you covered. And a highf fly ball. That’s driven deep to right center. It’s back there. She is gone. Home run Anthony number one. Red Sox quickly on the scoreboard. What a moment for the kid. He gets to Logan Gilbert and knocks it out of the ballpark. Yeah, you got a little two seamer right here. 96 mph. There’s actually a really good pitch by Gilbert up and away. Just catches the corner and Roman. He crowds the plate so he can really reach that pitch. You see how strong that kid is. Wow. And a one-two runner goes. Here’s the throw down and he’s got himself a stolen base. Anthony getting into second and carams away, but he’ll stay put at second base. And Garber no chance to get him. Roman moves well. He’s not a burner by any means. He gets a good jump here. Good read on Castillo. Swipes it back. gets into scoring position here for for Story. Roman up to 210. Stings this one down the left field line. That’s a fair ball all the way to the corner. Red Sox grab a quick run. He’s into second with a double. Backto back doubles off Singer. Red Sox off to the races again tonight. And Roman Anony’s really starting to feel it now, right? Little fivegame hitting streak now where he’s nine for 19. Extra base hits. The balls are dropping. This is beautiful. Just stays on the heater the other way. He barreled this thing. Jumps on that one. A line drive and a diving effort there by Anthony. He hangs on. He made the catch. Jump by Roman out in right field. And we talk about that corner, how it’s difficult, but you see him just coming in your picture as the ball is hit. You’re already seeing him coming into this pitcher moving. Great first step and jump for this ball to have a chance. And of course, the concentration going down to the ground. Murphy appreciates it. And now Roman who’s 0 for one. He’ll ground that through the right side for a base hit. Gonzalez turning around. He will score easily. Three to nothing Socks. Roman Anthony keeps on swinging the bat after being on base five times yesterday. Yeah. And this is the right approach, right? You facing lefties. He struggled a little bit early in his career against lefties. Better than obviously better against righties. But don’t wait around. Like don’t sit around and wait for this big curve ball this slider. If he’s going to give you a fast ball in his own zone, be aggressive out of the gate. Finds a hole. Knocks in Romy Roman. Four in a row. He’s hitting. Oh, stings this one. That’s back this way. Way, way back. A monster shot for Roman Anthony. Red Sox on top five to one. His second home run. His first at Fenway. You know, going into Washington, Roman was 4 for 22 verse lefties. He’s now five for his last 11 with an absolute bomb at 418. Pitch is driven into right field and it’s sinking down for a hit. Sadon is coming to third. He will score. Roman delivers and the Red Sox lead it one to nothing. That’s the first mistake Bradley’s made. An 02 curve ball that just stayed up over the plate for Roman. He didn’t crush it. He top spun. It got in on the hand hands just a touch. But good thing cuz it allowed it to drop in front of low there in right field for that RBI. Going to get something going here with two outs. And Roman Anthony line shot toward the gap. That’s going to drop down. The run is in. Bregman’s into third and then to second base with a double. Roman Anthony give him a 10game hitting streak and the Red Sox get on the scoreboard in Chicago. It is three to one doing this with two down. That that’s just a big run and a big knock. Swing and a base hit into right center that brings in Hamilton. Roman Anthony with an RBI single and the Red Sox are on top again. Four to three in the ninth. Kids are real deal. I know we already knew it, but we’re just watching the early stages of a really special career. I mean, this is against one of the best arms in baseball. Roman Anthony just a couple of months into his major league career, looking for his first major league walk-off here. He has the winning run of Bree at third with nobody out in the infield in. And a fly ball to center field that will end it. McCormack goes all the way back. It’s over his head on the warning track. Roman Anony’s first career walk-off hit helps the Red Sox beat the Astros in Boston. What a game we got to experience. Playoff type baseball. Two great teams fighting for their playoff spot here in August. And a shot out to left center field. Merryill on the run. He’s not going to get it. That’ll skip up into the stands and that’ll drive in the tying run. And the Red Sox have made it a 44 game and the rookie comes through in the clutch again. The man’s got ice in his veins. Nothing affects him. One of the best closers in the game. Takes first pitch change up. Gets 98 on top of the zone. Gets on top of it. Drives in the gap. Man, he’s impressive. Swinging a highf fly ball. He hit that one deep way back to right and it is gone. Home run. Roman Anthony goes downtown and the Red Sox with a giant comeback have made this a one-run game. Isn’t that awesome right there? Right. It just seems like nothing has gone since that first inning. And it was like just dead goose eggs. Swinging a high flying ball right center field. That’s deep. Melton racing back and that ball is gone. Roman Anthony for the second night in a row and the Red Sox lead it nine to nothing. He’s a guy you just feel it, right? We talk, oh, he’s going to hit the ball in the air. He’s going to hit the ball in the air. He’s just got to the big leagues in June. He’s 21 years old. You’re going to see a lot of balls hitting the air. You’re going to see a lot of balls in the gap. You’re looking at a young man that’s established in his career for a long time. High fly ball to deep right field and a no doubter from Roman Anthony in his first game at Yankee Stadium. He finds the second deck. A two-run bomb. Patient most of the game and then goes up there and jumps on the first pitch. He continues to ace every test. And man oh man, how bad did the Red Sox need that going into the bottom of the ninth? It’s the first multi-run inning of this game here in the ninth. Defense again cost the Yankees the fourth air puts a runner aboard and allows Anthony to get to the plate with two outs and he does not miss. Taking advantage, swinging a high fly center field straight away. Cowser backing up. Backing up at the wall. She is gone. He’s done it again. Another lead off home run by Roman Anthony number seven to put the Socks on the board one- nothing. He’s starting to like that. Keep him in that leadoff spot. This thing could could see this happening more and more. He jumps all over this. This all that bat started with this take. 2-1 the slider away. Roman Anthony just smokes this ball to center field. Fly ball right field. Anthony moving back. Roman there to leap and make the play on the warning track. Runner heading back into first. Beavers and two down. had a last second adjustment there to snatch that. Yeah, this was a nice play by Roman cuz he’s kind of in that right center gap. They’re not really playing Carlson to pull and he does and he kind of and going after at the last minute and has to leap and make a really nice catch. It’s a big catch. This ball gets behind him. Talking second and third. Uh I like to see him out there relaxed, happy, having fun and I like to see that way out of here. Roman Anthony with a home run number eight. Oh, that was on Q, huh? Red Sox lead it two to nothing. Let the kids play. We’re going to see that a few times in the years to come. Red Sox two and the Pirates nothing. [Applause] One down. Hot shot right to the shortstop. A run will score and this game is tied. Great. That’s awesome. That’s it right there. That’s you know Nathaniel Low had that opportunity. He couldn’t get it done in last inning but Roman didn’t waste any time. Got something over the plate right there. Didn’t try to do too much. Stayed to the middle of the field. Gets the run in. Here we go. Tie ball game. Swing ground ball toward the whole base hit. Stay on routing. He’s going to score and a beat goes on. Red Sox add another. That’ll make it four to one Boston. That is six consecutive hits. Roman with his 32nd RBI. I mean, nothing’s been exactly hammered, right? They’re just kind of taking what he’s giving them. He’s up in the zone, but they’re not up there trying to pull, launch him. They’re just trying to hit the ball hard, find holes, and that’s exactly what they’re doing. Six hits in a row. They’re rolling.

The Roman Empire
☝️ acknowledge him
Anthony greater than Harper
I acknowledge Roman Anthony as my Tribal Chief ☝️
Even though he did not win, I feel good about having Anthony over Kurtz.
Even as a rookie we missed him in the wildcard badly
