Joe Burrow doesn’t play defense and Joe Flacco has been great. So why are the Bengals so eager to bring Burrow back? Outside of the obvious case that Burrow is a significantly better quarterback than Flacco regardless of how good their production can be in this offense, I think there’s a deeper reasoning behind Burrow’s potential return here. I think that Zack Taylor, the coaching staff, the personnel department, Duke Tobin, whoever you want to name, they’re all feeling the heat right now. And they absolutely need this team, this collection of players that they have to play their very best over these final eight weeks. They need inspiration and a spark that unfortunately the head coach cannot provide. And because everything in this operation, including the very relevancy of this franchise, revolves around the quarterback, I can see why they’re putting all their eggs in the basket of, hey, don’t give up on the season yet. Number nine can come back. Now, of course, they wouldn’t clear Burrow to practice if he wasn’t actually ready to practice again. But it’s not a guarantee that he does play again this year. They could stink the next 3 weeks, and it might not be worth it to put him back out there. But the very idea that he could is enough for the Bengals as a whole to be like, if anything can spark this back to life, it’s him. So Taylor, Tobin, and whomever else may be on the hot seat right now, better hope that they don’t blow these next couple of games before Burrow does actually have a chance to come

I really don't think anything can spark this team. The D is horrendous. I'm certainly no film guru, but it's the worst ive seen in my 40 years of watching football. Theyd have to win a minimum of 6 of the last 8 games. I just dont see it. And what's scarier is the amount of holes on D they need to fill asap.
They need to dump everyone on this staff from Tobin down, DRAIN THE SWAMP!
