Nobody Understands How Special The New York Knicks Are Right Now..

Once again, the Knicks got off to a very fast start. They absolutely poured it on. I mean, when you put up over 70 and a half, it’s just so demoralizing for an opponent. All this is is just a high on ball screen by Hart and they end up blitzing it. KCP blitzes this screen which allows Brunson to just throw the bounce pass between them. Hart catches it and makes a quick decision to find OG for the reverse slam. Look how fast this happens. So, Blitz here, Brunson bounce pass. heart, you can see, has to make a decision and he just reads the defense. He knows that the big’s dropping back and he sees this defender at a position OG is going to come baseline. And this is why Josh Hart is so valuable because his guard-like skills bounce pass too and OG gets the slam. Also, knowing that there’s no rim protector, so you’re not afraid at all of Lando and 31. I mean, come on now, man. Now you’re out in transition. Josh Hart, and this is where he’s at his best. just takes the contact, fights through it, gets hit on the wrist, and lays it up and in. Would make the free throw. Brunson top key to deuce. Once again, guys, the Grizzlies blitz. See how well this time this isn’t a blitz. It’s actually just a pure double team. You can see KCP runs right at him and Brunson makes this decision. And this is why Deuce and Brunson are so lethal together because the spacing is just surreal. And it’s just too much space for Deuce. That’s a layup for him. That’s why you want to surround Brunson with a lot of shooters, especially if you’ve got Josh Hart on the floor with him. You want to make sure Deuce is out there and or of course you know OG male the way they’re shooting the basketball certainly work. Yeah, you’re going to come blitz. Ari Brunson just reads it, bounce pass to Deuce into that pocket, fires away and knocks it down. Now OG to Cat and he’s going to drive to the basket, fight through the contact. This is when Cat’s at his best is when he’s just in transition coming downhill. Because this is happening so fast, the Grizzlies can’t really react to this. Now you’ve got a big man backpedaling and Cat is just he’s just too strong. You’re not going to backpedal and be able to guard him. Lays that up and in. So on this play, this is exactly how the Knicks want to defend the pick and roll is just hedge it. See how Cat fights over it and he forces Jaw to pick up his dribble and now Jordan Clarkson’s in there and they’re going to end up forcing a jump ball. As you see, Jaw was trying to call timeout, but it’s just a little bit too late and the Knicks end up getting it. And on this play, you got Cat going downhill. Uh Jarant stumbles down. Cat probably could have taken this, but he makes the extra pass to Deuce. Jaw’s confused. He doesn’t know where the ball is. Yeah. So Jaw doesn’t know where the ball is and he ends up just kind of thinking that it’s going towards the basket. And by the time he realizes that Deuce has it, it’s already too late. Wide open. Doesn’t even hit the net. And dues screens Lindell and Cat just gathers fires over it and knocks it down. Man, credit dues for this screen. The Grizzlies aren’t going to switch. They’re not going to fight over. The Knicks will take this any single time, man. That’s just way too much space for Cat. It’s just lazy defense by the Grizzlies. And now he’s coming downhill and getting to the free throw line. See, Cat could beat you in so many different ways. He could do this, rise up for three off of a screen as a sevenfooter. Or he can do this. You’re out of position because Jar another screen by the way another screen and then Jaw instead of switching it he just runs back to deuce and Landel of course now is out of position cat and all he could do is foul throw it up of course to get to the free throw. You can see Patrick Euing loves it. Knicks fans love when Cat is aggressive when he’s doing things like this. Get to the basket. So easy for Cat. I thought he’s settled for a lot of jumpers last year at times and he needs to just go to the basket cuz nobody in basketball can stop Cat when he’s going downhill like this too. And that’s a very strong misconception about Cat is a lot of people thought he couldn’t do this but the Wolves just didn’t ask him to do that. That’s what Cat said himself. And the Knicks want him to be aggressive as much as humanly possible because things like this happen. Get to the free throw line, man. And you love to see the Knicks up 3752 at the time and still trying to get to the free throw line, man. I mean, that’s just that’s Nick basketball, man. So, this play is a prime example of why the Knicks blew out the Grizzlies tonight. Take a look at Male Bridges on your screen right here, guys. Look at the score off of a turnover. He’s going to chase all the way down the floor. Landel thinks he has an easy lob to Jaw, but Male gets back and tips it out and saves a free bucket for the Grizzlies. Now we got Brunson coming up the floor. And again, the Grizzlies, they double him, which leaves Male wide open to just cut to the basket. But take a look at this pass. This is ridiculous, man. It ends up getting deflected as well, but Male sticks with it, adjust, and lays it up and in. This was off of the turnover as well. Hopefully I don’t get copyrighted for this. Literally, I think Stephen or not Steve Novak, sorry. Tyler, the guy calling the the game. He basically said this is a post and it is. See how he’s going straight and then he cuts into the basket. That angle is like a deep post route. Michaela runs it and it’s just that chemistry of Brunson knowing that, hey, look, if I run at the basket, he’s going to find me. Brunson makes a pass that very few guards would even ever attempt. Perfect. And execution, man. Defense and offense. Yale offensive rebound. and kick it out to Hart. And look at this vision, man. Sneaks it right through Jackson, who didn’t even see it coming. And Brunson gets the reverse layup. And it’s just beautiful basketball. Now Josh Hart, he’s going to run the pick and roll with Yappale. Jaw goes under is, you know, Jaw’s not even guarding anyone. It’s just bad defense right there. And then they gets two Grizzly defenders off of their feet. And Michael gets a wide open layup. The easiest bucket he’ll probably get all season. Actually, that’s not even true because Male had to break away in this game. Grizzlies are so bad, bro. This game says a lot more about the Grizzlies than it does the Knicks. I mean, credit the Knicks, though, for approaching this like it’s a a playoff game. They needed to be doing that every single night. But, I mean, look at the spacing. This is exactly why the Grizzlies are down 18 points right now. Is what is this spacing? Like, oh my god, dude. It’s It’s like it’s just too easy, man. You’re walking right into a turnover if you’re the rookie. Male picks his pocket. There’s that breakaway I was alluding to. Now, Male’s on the top of the key, kicks out Josh Hart. You know it’s the Knicks night when Josh Hart takes a step back three-pointer off of a bounce and knocks it down. You can see Spike Lee sitting courtside as always is fired up about it. Marbury was out tonight. Ewing was out tonight, man. They showed up, man. Spreewell was out tonight. Let’s get it, man. Knicks legends in the building. It’s becoming pretty obvious that being good is not enough for the Knicks. Despite the blowout, it was the little things that truly tick this team off. We saw, of course, Brunson and Cat having a little discussion before a free throw, making sure that they’re on the same page at all times. The Knicks are able to attack in ways they weren’t last season. Like Jordan Clarkson, for example, we saw Yavis. I thought he played one of his better games of the season. He’s starting to get in more shape and get more adept in what his role was supposed to be coming into the season. Cat attacking the basket. OG’s playing the best ball of his life. Male Bridges is clearly locked in no matter what. He’s chasing down loose balls, breaking up lobs on that deflection like we broke down in the tape. And then you look at, of course, Duce McBride knocking down multiple threes in this game. Best point of attack defender on the team. Everyone is doing their part. And I maybe I don’t even know if Hart is actually getting healthier. He looks like it, but he probably even isn’t. It’s just Hart wants to win a championship so bad. See, the thing about the Knicks, right, is these guys are so close. They understand that you only get so many opportunities to win a championship. And this is probably going to be the Knicks best one to do so in the Brunson era because of Hallebertton and because of Tatum. Even if they were fully healthy, you know, it still would be the kind of the same. It’s like, hey, look, we got to go, man. Last season we we could sniff it. We were so close. But now it’s like the Knicks have to win a championship. It almost feels like and that’s why they’re starting to to pour it on. They were the 13th offense in terms of efficiency or I think it was technically offensive rating is the stat a week ago. Now they’re second. They’re probably even first after the what they just did. You look at what, five of the last seven games, the Knicks have scored over 70 in the first half, I think they said in the broadcast. So, this team is just on a different level right now. And the defense is leading in offense. Yeah, sure, they’re knocking out shots, but the defense is inspiring the offense because of the looks they’re getting. And teams are having a difficult time guarding the Knicks because of how they’re moving the ball. The Knicks did not move the ball like this last season. The Knicks haven’t moved the ball like this in a long time. Jaylen Brunson had what was eight, nine assists like midway through the third quarter. He’s been doing his best facilitating as a Knick. And it might not seem like much because Brunson’s a point guard technically, but he’s always been just a shot creator, but the Knicks don’t really need him to do that anymore because they’re getting career years across the board from several guys. And they have Clarkson off the bench now. So Brunson can go back to being more of a facilitator. And I think the Knicks are way better when he does that. Down the stretch. Yeah, Brunson needs to score, but right now he needs to just get everyone involved. Male, OG, Cat, Clarkson. I mean, everyone’s just benefiting off of it. And come playoff time, Brunson’s going to be so much better. I mean, Brunson, even when he was a do, everything was still putting up numbers that we hadn’t seen since Jordan, but imagine now that he’s fresh cuz everyone’s doing more. And Brunson, every single time he’s getting blitz on his pick and roll, he’s making the right decision. And man, this is just the Nick basketball we’ve been waiting for for years now. And it’s finally starting to come into fruition. So, the Grizzlies got on a run late, 11 to2 had me somewhat nervous, but I knew Brunson was going to start to take over. There’s a time and a place to facilitate, but when the game’s on the line, you start to see the momentum sort of fading away. You’ve got to just go and get a bucket. Brunson tried to kick it out to Cat for the top of the key three. It was short. The Knicks got the rebound. It led to a Brunson three. This was easily the best game Brunson’s played all season, and we’re definitely going to do a film review on him tomorrow. We haven’t done that the entire season so far, which is kind of wild to think about. We’ve done OG, Cat, Mitch. We have yet to do Brunson. So, that’s going to be the first thing we do. But yeah, guys, I hope you enjoyed the video. My name is Nick Dailyaly and once again, another win. Let’s go. I’ll see you guys in the next one. Peace.

  1. I don't see us winning a championship as long as OKC is healthy. Is it possible? Yes, but I feel that it would take injuries on OKC in order for us to win. Could they beat OKC healthy? Doable, but I just don't see it. Plus, Detroit is only going to get better. Whenever the Knicks are really really good, there is always a team that is really really really good in the league and we end up a day late and $33 dollars short 🤷🏼
