Pretty clear this is just the tip of the iceberg. Seems like there’s more leagues currently dealing with betting scandals than not. This was always going to be the outcome, unfortunately.
We really need to re-stigmatize sports betting as a nefarious activity for low lifes.
And this was the ad I see when I come back to this post. 😑
They deserve to be banned from the game but I find it absurd that they should have to spend any time in prison. They could very likely make financial recompense to the sports books who likely suffered not at all from this anyway. They hurt themselves more than anyone else by doing this.
