I love this and it was awesome seeing the Blue Jays players rock the $51 on their caps
At the end of the day, it’s just a sport and these guys play for our entertainment. No need to bash other franchises or talk shit about other fans. The majority of us just love the sport and won’t stab you.
, its truly shows you whats important in life. Everyone on both sides stood with the Vesia family, supporting them during their tragic times. Baseball is just a game.
Almost poetically, $75,,k CAD is almost 51k USD.
Good to see the number keeps going up.
Lasting tradition: Dodger and Blue Jays for the next 10 World Series
Of interest, Monthly donors who join before December 31, 2025, 11:59pm will have their donations triple matched every month for one year by a generous anonymous donor until $5.2M in gifts are received.
Sportsmanship and human compassion joined in the best, synergistic way. I truly hope this is the start of a lasting tradition. Dodgers and Blue Jays and your fans: thank you for a memorable World Series!
When this was first posted in MLB sub I posted how I almost died before my first Christmas because of a penicillin allergy. Sick kids saved my life. Because of donations like that happened, my parents, who were struggling at the time, did not have to pay a dime for my care. My extended family made the trek to Toronto from London, Brantford, and Burlington to give my parents Christmas so they could relax an worry about me. This story could have been so different.
Baseball is a game. It inspires passions, that sometimes get the better for us, but at the end it is a game. A game that parents who have children in the hospital could care less about. You donation make a difference between profound relief and happiness, and devastating grief and pain. You donations make it so the happy outcome is more than likely. Even if you are not a Dodger fan, every little bit makes a difference.
Thanks, I know my parents were those decades ago.
1. It’s really nice to see Dodgers fans in the news for something positive. We aren’t all drunken assholes who will fight you for wearing the wrong hat to the stadium, and we aren’t all Pantone 294 members.
2. My wife and I have gone through what Vesia and his wife are going through twice. Not as far along in the pregnancy but far enough along that it was considered a stillbirth and not a miscarriage. It’s absolutely brutal and I can’t imagine going through it with millions of people talking about it. I hope they can recover, and I’m sure they will.
This is a very sincere question for our Canadian friends. I’m a BIG believer in Medicare for All in the US, which is basically what you have up there. That said, this story had me thinking about how hospitals like this usually get funded in Canada. Are they not all publicly subsidized?
Classy!
I love that. Thank you classy Dodgers fans that’s awesome

This is beautiful to see as my heart goes out to the Vesia family during their tough times.
The Jays relievers rocking 51 is beautiful. Baseball may be life, but life is bigger than baseball.
Beautiful to see.
