I think if dodgers don’t go for him (which is possible 2/4 japanese pitchers in recent time have gone elsewhere) then padres have equal amount of chance as mets, cubs, etc. Unless mets just give him crazy high $.
Dodgers seem to go for Japanese players that are top tier (Ohtani/Yamamoto) or super cheap (Sasaki). I think all the Japanese players coming this year are in the mid/high-tier and all have way more risk. I don’t think they risk that unless they get them for super cheap…
