Baseball America’s projected 2029 Brewers lineup

  1. I’d be very surprised if Uribe makes it that long. Closers just don’t stay that long on a team like us. I imagine he would be shipped off somewhere in return for prospects if he’s good enough to be a closer for 3 years 😆

  2. Gotta believe Brock wilken fits in here somewhere. The brewers desperately need more power and he was on a tear before he got injured

  3. This is generously assuming a lot of pieces stay with us for 4 years. Given this team’s historical inability to hold onto valuable prospects I have my doubts.

  4. So I understand this is basically a ranking of who BA thinks has the highest ceiling in the org and is still under team control through 2029, but here are a couple things to point out.

2029 is the final year of team control for Turang and Frelick. I wouldn’t expect either to be extended by then which probably means there’s a decent chance we’ve traded at least one of them by opening day 2029.

CF would be an issue. Lara is great defensively, but I don’t think he’s going to hit. He’s probably a 4/5th outfielder in an ideal world. If we are lucky, Chourio ends up making the successful transition to CF full time.

Much of the 40 man currently is controlled through 2029. Only guys who aren’t: mears, megill, Freddy, Contreras, Vaughn, Mitchell, Yelich, Bauers.

It’s also interesting to see how they have Made, Peña, and Pratt laid out defensively. It makes sense, but will be really interesting to see how it plays out. I’m guessing Pratt debuts in 2026. Made debuts early 2027 and Peña either late 2027 or 2028. Assuming they’re all still on the team, how they navigate that with prime years Turang is rather intriguing.
