Per Jason Beck: “Tigers have claimed RHP Dugan Darnell off waivers from Pittsburgh. The Northville native, Adrian College and USPBL product made his MLB debut with Rockies this season.

To open a spot, Tigers DFAed former closer Alex Lange, who pitched in 1 game for Detroit this season after lat surgery last year.”

  1. Can’t wait for the justification of this and other moves like it instead of actually improving the major league roster. Thanks to Scott and Chris we are in money ball, mediocrity hell

  2. Do they think Lange is injured to a point where he can’t play anymore, or are they hoping he comes back on a minor-league deal?

  3. Liked the guy, but he just couldn’t throw strikes consistently. Hopefully it works out elsewhere for him

  4. Went to high school with Dugan, cool he’s back home. Hope he gets some more time in the big leagues

  5. TigerzMemesz just fell to their knees in a Meijers

Really does suck though that he didn’t work out

  6. Is this some sort of money laundering scheme where the Tigers hold onto to pitchers who are injured only to release them when they become healthy??

  7. Jason Foley is looking at his framed photo from the 3-man no-hitter with Manning and Lange, and hears a loud clock ticking in the background. Hopefully he’s able to work things out when he’s healthy and doesn’t end up with the same result as the other two!
