  1. He’s not wrong. Also, can we end the advertisements from betting houses? I can’t put on Ms. Rachel without some gambling ad.

  2. Gonna be hilarious when the league fights back against something so obviously the right move

  3. Remember when all we had was proline and you just picked the over/under? Maybe they need to go back to that. Also, eliminating prop bets only works on legal side of things. There’s always going to be illegal betting going on.

  4. When the worst person you know makes a good point:

  5. It is like when you could bet on the color of the “next dildo thrown on the court “ at WNBA games. A fan can bet and then impact the result. Makes zero sense.

  6. Coming from someone that loves prop bets and play them often…I totally agree. Too much risk without a real way to mitigate it. When a single player can dictate this type of stuff, you’re really asking for trouble

  7. Old expression: “A broken clock is right 2x a day.” This is that broken clock telling you that it’s 11 when it’s 11.

  8. It sucks because I personally enjoy betting on games but I also hate what it’s done to all sports. The bag has already been opened and I doubt it closes but things do need to be done to make sure gambling doesn’t mess with the integrity of the sport

  9. MLB never should have allowed gambling advertising and everyone on social media (Jomboy, etc.) that are advertising for them have zero ethics.

There will always be problem gamblers. But we will now have people that most likely never would have gotten involved in gambling (because it was illegal) become addicted to gambling.

  10. Do people honestly think that the few professional athletes who have been caught gambling on games they play in are the only ones doing it?

66% of reported violent crime in the US is not prosecuted. Do people think gambling crimes are prosecuted at a higher rate?

Sports betting among players is going to rival the doping scandals of the past and once again, the owners are to blame.

  11. Baseball just the tip of the iceberg. Predicting bad things will come out of betting on college games. Just a matter of time.

  12. I, for one, am shocked at all this unscrupulous behavior. No one could have seen this coming. No. One.

  13. Leagues have enough money and the technology exists to police this. Hence why a Luis Ortiz third inning first pitch ball got him caught to begin with.

There should be a law requiring a percentage of the advertising spent by a sportsbook on a league, has to be redirected by the league to implement the same technologies casinos use to catch this activity.
