Examining why Seahawks vs. Rams isn’t in primetime for Week 11 | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC
SEEMS TO BE IN THAT COMBO WITH THE ALL-TIME GREATS FOR MY HEY AND SAM DARNOLD’S TRYING TO FORCE HIS WAY INTO A CONVERSATION OF BEING AMONG THE GREAT CURRENTLY IN THE GAME, THIS IS A HELL OF A TEST FOR HIM, ESPECIALLY AGAINST THE RAMS TEAM AND THE RAMS WEREN’T THE ONES THAT TURNED THE CHARIOT INTO THE PUMPKIN, THE LIONS DID WEEK 18. AND I THINK THAT SAM DARNOLD SELF PUMPKIN HIMSELF IN THAT GAME BECAUSE THE, THE LIGHTS WERE A LITTLE TOO BRIGHT FOR HIM. THAT NIGHT WILL SEE. AND IT’S WEIRD BECAUSE THIS IS A GAME WHERE THE LIGHTS AREN’T GOING TO BE BRIGHT BECAUSE IT’S NOT A NATIONALLY TELEVISED GAME. IT’S NOT A PRIME TIME GAME. IT’S, YOU KNOW, IT SHOULD BE, IT SHOULD BE, WE HAVE RAIDERS COWBOYS MONDAY NIGHT AND I KNOW THAT THE FLEXING FOR MONDAY DOESN’T KICK IN BUT GOOD LORD. YOU KNOW IF THEY’RE GOING TO BE IF THEY’RE GOING TO, I’M GOING TO THROW CAUTION TO THE WIND HERE BECAUSE I’M I’M PISSED THAT I SAY THIS. I’M NOT A BIG FAN OF FLEXING FROM 1 DAY TO THE NEXT. I WAS AGAINST THE WHOLE THURSDAY THING BUT IF THE IDEA IS LET’S ALWAYS PUT THE BEST POSSIBLE GAMES AND THE BEST POSSIBLE WINDOWS, HOW IN THE HELL ARE WE GOING TO HAVE TO TO CHOKE ON RAIDERS COWBOYS ON MONDAY NIGHT WHEN WE COULD HAVE HAD SEAHAWKS RAMS? AND IT’S SITTING THERE AT 405, THEY COULD HAVE BEEN PUT ON MONDAY NIGHT, THEY NEED TO DO WHATEVER THEY CAN, I HATE TO SAY THIS BECAUSE YEAH, WHAT? WELL, I DON’T WANT TO WATCH THEM AGAIN. YEAH. 2 OUT OF 3 WEEKS THEY’RE ON NATIONAL TV AND A PRIME TIME GAME LIKE WHO, WHO THE HELL IN THE NFL OFFICE THOUGHT, DO THEY NEED TO CALL SOME PEOPLE SOMETIMES AND BE LIKE, LIKE THEY COULD HAVE CALLED US, AND WE’D HAVE BEEN LIKE, UM, GUYS, THE RAIDERS ARE NOT GOING TO BE GOOD. SEPTEMBER, WHAT SEPTEMBER ARE YOU DOING YOUR? WHAT THE MIDDLE OF NOVEMBER? WHAT GUYS DID YOU LOOK AT THE? WHAT DO WHAT DO YOU WHAT? TELL ME WHO YOU THOUGHT THE RAIDER? WHY ARE THE RAIDERS GOOD? TELL ME WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? LIKE YEAH, I HEAR YOU THERE IT PISSES ME OFF WHEN IT’S A GAME LIKE THAT SORRY EDINBURGH, OKAY? BECAUSE I A FEW, THE WORST SPOT TO PUT A BAD TEAM, RIGHT? IT’S A WORSE SPOT TO PUT IT. BAD TEAM IN NOVEMBER, WHEN YOU CAN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, ENOUGH GAMES HAVE GONE BY WHERE IT’S CLEAR, THEY’RE A BAD TEAM, BUT IT’S NOT SO LATE IN THE SEASON THAT THEY CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. AND I THINK THE REASON I HESITATE IS YOU KNOW, SO MUCH OF THIS IS ABOUT THE PURSUIT OF THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR AND THEY WANT TO GET THESE GAMES INTO THE BIGGER WINDOWS WITH THE BIGGER RATINGS, BUT THE FAN IN ME, THE HELL WITH ALL THAT. I JUST WANT TO WATCH RAMS SEAHAWKS IN A STANDALONE WINDOW AND I DON’T WANT TO WATCH RAIDERS COWBOYS AND WE’VE SEEN ENOUGH OF THE RAIDERS AND ENOUGH OF THE COWBOYS. FRANKLY, THAT I DON’T WANT TO SEE THEM AGAIN. I WANT TO SEE THIS GAME SO WHATEVER THEY NEED TO DO, WHATEVER THEY NEED TO DO. THEY NEED TO BE IN A POSITION WHERE THEY COULD, THEY COULD JUST MAKE THAT JUST JUST A LITTLE SWITCH AND I KNOW IT CREATES TRAVEL ISSUES AND I WANT TO BE SENSITIVE TO THE FANS BUT IF YOU’RE GOING TO DO IT AT THE END OF THE SEASON, 11 WHEN WE SAW THIS COMING THE RAIDERS COWBOYS AND AND ALL WELL, THE COWBOYS ARE GOING TO WELL NOT NOT WE SAW THIS COMING THE WE GOT THE WE SAW THIS COMING THE ALL THE COWBOYS ARE GOING TO, THEY’RE NOT THAT THEY’RE NOT THAT FUN TO WATCH. THEY GOT TO GET OVER IT IN THE NFL. I I KNOW THEY’RE THE COWBOYS AND THEY WERE THE AMERICA’S TEAM, YOU KNOW, 3 DECADES AGO, GET OVER IT. HOLY CRAP, THEY’RE NOT ANYMORE, THEY’RE NOT AMERICA’S TEAM, THEY’RE NOT THAT SPECIAL. I’M SO SICK OF SEEING THEM ON TV ALL THE TIME. I’M SICK. JERRY JONES. HEY, JERRY JONES IS CALLING? YEAH, JERRY. YEP, WHAT YOU, WHAT YOU DO? WHAT YOU DO WITH

The kicker is its not even game of the week with the top broadcasting team 😂
We get to NOT watch packers vs giants… many more seahawks & rams fans in oklahoma … Steve Largent was a congressman here after his hall of fame NFL career. He was a Tulsa born University of Tulsa standout who went to the expansion Seahawks franchise. So there was A LOT of people that became brand new fans of the brand new team and passed it down. more likely to see rams, seahawks, 49ers fans than giants or packers. Always hate being stuck watching greenbay dallas and chicago games
The reason flexing is limited is for the fans who can only afford 1 game a year. The vast majority.
Do they flex Monday night games? I thought they only flexed sunday night games (which makes a lot more sense because it's the same day).
still with the false narrative the Rams loss was on Darnold
ESPN loves the cowboys. Half their morning coverage is usually about the cowboys
If the NFL is supposed to be fair to all its owners. Why is certain teams "flexed into prime time" games?
We all can see how bad the officiating is… it seems some teams get the calls their way , eagles Chiefs Patriots.
Its not prime time because as any lifelong Hawks fan will tell you – we dont drive ratings because most years no one really talks about the Seahawks or if they do its the "we are not talking enough about the Seahawks" soundbite over and over. Way up in the PNW with an admittedly smaller fanbase than the Raiders or "America's team" (sarcastic air quotes) – we are used to this Mike. Even in the SB years in 2006 and 2013 whenever the Hawks won a game the entire sports pundit universe would spend all their airtime on why "X" team lost this game rather than why the Seahawks won. Remember when the sports talking heads talked about how Peyton Manning and his historic offence were just going to destroy Seattle and the LOB? We do. Only to witness one of the most one sided beat downs in SB history. This isnt about "putting the best games" on prime time. Its about serving the larger national audiences. As a Hawks fan since 1983 (and I know I am not alone) all this national attention makes me VERY nervous. Many of us LIKE our team being slept on and the glare of the national media – feels very awkward – like setting us up for a fall.
Well being in the Pacific Northwest I'll still get to watch it. I actually would prefer it not to be on Monday night. My schedule is such that I rarely watch MNF. Friends and family accept that my Sundays are booked during the NFL season but I'm pushing it with other days. Keeping the game on Sunday means I don't at the last minute need to negotiate my way out of a family dinner night.
Of course anyone that pays attention to what actual games get scheduled should have noticed long ago that lousy prime time games on Monday have been pretty normal since NBC started airing Sunday Night Football. Most of the really good match-ups end up on Sunday night and the NFL clearly considers that their marquee game each week. Giving a lousy team like the Raiders a prime time game by throwing them on Monday night has been a normal practice for 20 years.
So much of all sports and scheduling, etc is money. For that reason, teams like the Hawks get forgotten. The best team in the NFL is forgotten….oh well.
Im a Raider fan, please flex out Monday game
To be fair nobody on this clip thought the Seahawks were winning more than 6 wins this year.
Did for skip
coupled with the youtube tv issues, this could be the least watched game in a while
Its ok, we cant see ESPN games anyways
This game should be flexed for sure. Best game of the week
Somehow over the past 20 years The Cowboys have been on a pedastool of greatness. Why? WTF knows?
Because NFL staffs are dumb.
Seattle has the bully's on the d-line now. The bad man A Donald can't hurt us anymore, but L. Williams and B. Murphy are going to collapse the pocket all day. Stafford going to be under heavy pressure.
Finally someone calls out the Cowboys been forced down viewers throats on primetime. It's about time and we need more media guys to say this.
I thought I was the only one shocked to find out this game wasn't on PRIMETIME 🤯
Can you imagine Lions vs. Eagles on Sunday night, followed by Seahawks vs. Rams on Monday night? Good fricking night. That's NFL (and TV and Vegas, what it's known for and not the Raiders) gold. I'm actually suprised the almighty dollar didn't win this one.
Glad this lousy Cowboys/Raiders game between two poor teams with no future will be on Monday Night, given that's the ONE GAME I can't watch given the YoutubeTV versus Disney battle. Not going to miss anything .Meanwhile, the battle between Seahawks/Rams, the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams in the NFL, is buried in the local West Coast market — where I live. So I'll be able to see it. Funny how things work. 🤣
Amen to everything FLorio and Simms just said. If and when Cowgirls are on natl TV, we always turn it off…
Eat your corporate slop.
I totally agree
its fine their second match up is prime time so they will still have a prime time game.
Last year Darnold had a really bad O line!
We in Seattle are kind of used to being overlooked. It's a kind of the pitying, lack of self confidence that us natives (3rd generation on my maternal side) have perfected (I mean being a Mariners fan … please). You'd think that LA could draw attention, but I guess not.
The Las Vegas Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys have the largest fanbase and the most recognized outside of the United States, which is probably why its scheduled on Monday Night. It would also be great to see the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night instead of Sunday afternoon as they mentioned.
Definitely this game should be a prime time game.. or Sunday night game…
Go hawks 😊😊
Thanks for saying the Cowboys aren't America's team, I'm so tired of them, and there 60 million dollar quarterback
I'm so tired of hearing how "Darnold melted down" the last 2 games of last year. Minn won a ton of close games because of Darnold last year and then they got exposed at the end of the year as their O-line was crushed — and their play calling didn't give any help to Darnold either. If you examine how Kubiak has handled Darnold, you'll see a selection of offensive plays that are enabling Darnold to have one of the quickest pass stats, when last year and beyond, he was holding on to the ball way too long. Darnold has matured and now is well on his way to putting together 2 elite seasons… but the real difference is how Seattle's offense is structured to keep him safe. They're running the ball on 51% of their snaps, which is making the play action work; they're rolling out Darnold a fair amount; and they're utilizing much quicker developing plays. And of course, they're OL is way improved. Put it all togher and you should stop waiting for Darnold to implode. The Rams are still favored and may win this game, but it won't be because Darnold melts down.
Seattle and LA both had a record of 10-7 last season. The NFL is asleep at the wheel per usual
While I'm not saying these two dudes rode the bandwagon dogging the Seahawks as the 4th best team in the NFC West in the preseason, more that a fair share of talking heads DID. Now that the 'Hawks have done as we (their rabid fans) expected, everybody wants on the wagon. Sorry, boys, your ride has come and gone.
This is not only the BEST game of the week, but the most impactful. So in it's infinite wisdom, the league will bury it under a miserable Cowboy's game. The league does NOT want attention on the Seahawks and will go to unimaginable lengths to do so. SB XL…anyone?
For those of us in europe who support the Seahawks and can't watch in the middle of the night, I hope they continue to put the cowboys in primetime. 😂
Weren't the Cowboys on Monday night two weeks ago?
Bc of “viewership” like man I can’t remember the last time I genuinely sat and watched a cowboy PrimeTime game. Rams v Seahawks is must see TV
Raiders catching strays 😂😂😂
A bunch of old people making decisions for their teams to be on t.v..
lol……I stopped watching Packers – Eagles game after 1/2 time
I’m so sick of the cowboys being on the prime time national broadcast. Cowboys games suck.
Two best teams in football. Seahawks in particular are putting up app time history type of numbers (on pace to finish as 4th best regular season of all time, narrowly ahead of the 85' Bears by DVOA).
The thing is, I just don't give a crap about the cowboys.
They're a joke.
I don't think 99% of NFL fans give a crap if they ever had a national televized game again
Better pray LA!
Rams only have 4 prime time games all season. Absolutely stupid.
