Bryce Young talks execution against Falcons | Carolina Panthers
Did anything stick out to you as you, you know, finally had some time to go back and look at Sunday’s game on film? Uh, yeah, just just some just lack of execution. Um, you know, looking back as a unit, um, you know, plays left out there, stuff that, you know, we just have to do a better job of executing. Um, again, we give credit uh to them. We they execute better than we did. Uh, but the the page has turned. Again, it’s all about Atlanta this week. It’s all about the Falcons. Um, so we’ve learned from that. that we’re excited for the plan and we’re excited for the opportunity to to have a week of work, put a put a week together and then give ourselves the best chance to uh have success on Sunday. Bryce, what were you guys able to do last time against him obviously as a big win um against the Falcons and what can you what can you learn from that one? Yeah. Um you know, first off, you got to turn the page. You you know that that doesn’t entitle you to anything. There’s uh you know, there’s no correlation. You know, we have to go in there again. It’s going to start zero no matter what. And we have a ton of respect for them. We know them well obviously division opponents. So, um, you know, you want to learn from stuff. Know that obviously they’re going to make adjustments, we’re going to make adjustments, there’s going to be a different look. So, um, obviously you watch the film, you watch they’ve been doing, um, and then you’re, uh, you have a plan, then you’re ready to to react as the game goes. You guys have been good at bouncing back from like bad losses or whatever. How how much does that refocus you, if at all, and sort of make you sort of re reenter? Yeah. Um, you know, coach talks about it all the time, just just find opportunities to refocus. He talks about that in the immediate on game days, after plays, after series, and then um you know, after games, after weeks. Um so that that’s been a theme for us. Um again, after good, after bad, whatever it is, uh we we put emphasis on on refocusing, making sure that we um you know, we get lost in the work, you know, we we we’re processoriented. So, um you know, that’s that’s the battle right now. And you know, we’re excited to have the opportunity. Do you remember any common threads after Buffalo or after New England? Um No, nothing nothing. That was There’s no magic uh no magic speech, nothing different. Uh you know, coach does a great job of being consistent um with our with how he is and the schedule he he has us do and everything like that. So, we know what to expect. We we know the work it takes. It’s it’s just about getting to it. Talking on the same topic of refocusing, uh a lot was made about the team not perhaps not having the most focused practicing last week. How do you think the group responded this uh at least today, Wednesday? Um you know, it was a good day of practice today. Um we’re all competitors. We all want to um make sure we understand how much practice correlates. We want to make sure we give ourselves the best chance. We we have that mindset every week. It’s not any different this week. So, um you know, good start. Um you know, again, we’re we’re in our work Wednesday, uh flow and tempo, and you know, we’re we’re doing all all we can to get the best out of that. Tomorrow will be a big day. You know, we had go all that stuff, same routine. So, um, good start. We have to long week ahead of us, so we have to keep capturing it. On that topic, and as a leader on this team, did you take it upon yourself to address the guys to sort of like, hey, let’s have a little more focus this week or anything along those lines? Yeah, there was there was talks. We’ll keep that in house, but um, you know, there there are discussions and again, for us, it’s a new week. Um, the page is turned. You know, we’re all excited for this week. We’re all excited for this opportunity to work, excited to go to go to Atlanta division opponent against a team we respect. So, um, yeah, we’re we’re excited for today. And just to clarify, were those talks last week or to start practice this week? No, we’ve we we had talks, you know, just keep it in house. What can you guys do to get the more explosive plays going outside of execution? I know that’s one thing, but is it that they aren’t being called? Is it that you aren’t throwing the ball? What’s what’s why has that been elusive for this offense? Um, no, it’s just it’s just a group thing. Um, you know, obviously you want to be diligent about uh, you know, sticking to the plan and then, you know, we just have to take advantage of opportunities when they come. You know, they’re uh, when you watch watch the tape and, you know, obviously we all watch a lot of film just from watching the opponent. They come in different ways. They all all come in different different sides. So, um, we just have to be ready for that opportunity. Um, you know, no fingerpointing. We all look in the mirror. We all want to be accountable. Um, obviously stuff like that can can help us. So, um, it’s just being opportunistic and and executing. You know, you didn’t want me to bring it back, but I did. Um, I think both of those are important on the accountability front. JC was very critical of himself postgame Sunday and he said he told the defense that it was on him understanding it’s not your not your side of the ball, but what does it do knowing that type of accountability, that type of leadership is on that defensive side? Yeah, I mean, one, it’s not surprising at all. Again, you know, we JC’s been, you know, he’s huge for us. Um, obviously on the field, but outside of that as a leader, you know, he he he’s always doing the right things, always working hard. super vocal. So, um, you know, from from a defense knowing that again, they’re always, you know, they’ll they’ll come back, you know, and it’s been been it’s never been ever since I’ve been here, it’s been the same way. You know, they’ll be the first to tell you no matter what. We they’ll take accountability and we’re the same way as offense. You know, we want to all be accountable. So, I’m grateful to to have a group of guys around me that they look in the mirror first. They want to get better. They want to, you know, there’s no ego. Everyone wants to do whatever they can individually and then within their their room and then as a unit, then as a team just to have success. So, uh, I’m grateful to be in an environment like that. You returning to the site of arguably your best game as a pro. How much fun was that week 18 last year? I don’t know. It was last year. So, um, this year it’s whatever was week 11 week. This year it’s week 11 and we’re zero and zero. Um, right now it’s Wednesday and we’re about to watch the p the tape of practice today. So, um, that’s that’s all I’m at. But aren’t there things you can take from that performance uh personally and as an offense that could help you this week and this year? Uh different coordinator, different system, uh different uh different things. You know, they’ve had changes. Again, we deep enough in the year where we, you know, stuff you watch, but right now again, you you watch this year’s stuff. You watch how they’re playing. Um I always have confidence in my team, always have confidence in myself. You know, that’s not something I need to lean on something else for. And uh what’s tangible is this week, so that’s all that matters. It’s been It’s been eight weeks since that first Falcons game. And what have you seen just from them when you were viewing film that’s different that kind of got your eye head in this week? Yeah. Um well, they’re the the way they’re playing. Not saying it’s different from the beginning, but it really just jumps off the tape. The um physicality in which they’re playing. Um obviously uh playing uh playing really aggressively. They’re making a lot of plays. It’s a really good group. Um they have some young guys that um you see them continue to make jumps and get better and better as the year goes, playing more and more comfortable um you know settling in being the the players that they’re that they are. Um so we have a ton of respect for them um you know at all three levels. Um they they do a good job executing their scheme, have a good scheme. So um yeah, you know, we’re familiar with them. Again, we have a ton of respect for them as an as an opponent. It’s a great opportunity for us to to go up against a great unit. So uh this week’s just about giving ourselves the best opportunity to do that. On that, Bryce, do you have to like pay special attention to like rookies that you play early in the year, understanding their learning curve maybe a little bit steeper than than some other guys? Yeah, you take that into account for sure. Um, you know, you see guys and um, you know, you you see them when you see them in whatever, week three or whatever. You know, you see them and you can see traits and you see how they’re settling in, how they’re playing and you know, you it’s it’s a little bit different with a rookie coming in after whatever however many 10 weeks, 11 weeks in. You know, they’re going to be playing better. They’re going to be more comfortable. They’re not be doing things. That definitely shows up with this Atlanta team. Uh, they have a really good group of young guys playing better and better. Um, doing, you know, really good things. So, um, yeah, you definitely take that account. Um, and same with with guys that are new to the system, that are new with you see guys start to settle in. You see how, you know, people feel comfortable and how they play better together. Um, you know, units as as the year goes on, just they have more time together, they play better. So, um, yeah, again, definitely see that with this with this Atlanta team. Have a ton of respect for them. So, I’m excited for the opportunity. Explosive plays. Um, you and T-Mac have great chemistry from 20 under 20 yards together, but from 20 plus it it hasn’t been there. Why do you think that is? And and what has to happen for that to open up a little bit? Yeah, just just execution again. Um, you know, we I always we we’re both two people who look in the mirror who want to be better, you know, want to want to want to hit every every shot and, you know, I’m grateful to have a guy like that. Um, one who, you know, is a player he is, but also, you know, has that approach, you know. So, uh, just about taking care of, uh, taking care of, uh, of of opportunities, you know, when they’re out there, making sure that, you know, we’re taking advantage of them, um, and executing. Um, but again, I have all the confidence in the world in him and everyone it takes, you know, again, it’s all 11. It’s a play cards. They do a great job. So, I have all the confidence in the world in us and, you know, we’re going to do whatever it takes to win. You talked about, you talked about being loose and having fun. Is anger useful? I think it can be. Um, you know, again, it everything everyone’s different and everything on a day-to-day basis changes. You know, there’s times um personal or you look at other people. Again, you’re always you’re always looking at what you need. You’re always looking at what you need to bring and always um evaluating on a day-to-day basis um on a gametoame basis what it is you may need. So, there’s times that, you know, you could use whatever emotion that it is to kind of aid you in playing. Um, and then for me personally, you know, it’s always about seeing where I’m at, figuring out what I need, what I need to add, what I need to take away, and trying to be in the best mindset to go and have success. You think you’ve scratched the surface on playing your best ball, or is there more in your bag that you just we haven’t seen yet? Um, you know, again, I’m I’m not a huge big picture person. I’m not a huge uh what if. Um, again, I I have a lot of confidence in myself. I have a lot of confidence in this group. Um, and at the end of the day, I want to win. Um, I don’t I don’t I don’t care about what can be. I don’t care about um, whatever narratives there are. I want to win football games. I want to help this team win. I want to do whatever that takes. Um, so my my goal and my focus always going to be on that. Um, and I’m really not super big into speculation. Last question, please. Your uh, foundation had an event last night. Can you tell the story about um how mental health became such an important thing for you and why today it’s important to you? Yeah. Um yeah, mental health has always been important. I was grateful to grow up around um a lot of people that were in the mental health space space. Um you know, my uh a lot of people in my family were big and I was able to um kind of reap the benefits of being able to talk openly about mental health and mental wellness. Um, and you know, growing up and especially through sports, you see everyone in such different walks of life and it’s not, you know, that’s that’s not always the case. It’s not super common. And you see, um, people struggle and and people struggle to admit that they’re struggling and people struggle to have dialogue, people struggling to seek help or or people struggling just to um, value wellness, whatever it may be. It’s not always all bad. Um, so um, again, for me, I feel like that’s something that unites us all. That’s something that’s equal regardless of our walk of life or occupation. Um, and you know, I’ve been able to have a lot of meaningful conversations, um, and watch people’s lives be impacted, uh, have a play in that and, um, it it’s I’m super grateful to have those experiences. So, um, it’s super near and dear to my heart, to my foundation’s heart, and I was super, um, you know, super grateful for the event we were able to put together last night. Appreciate you guys. Growing every week, the division title is still in sight
❤❤❤
We have reached a crossroad. Sunday is the most important game of Bryce Young's life.
More excuses
We didn't excite
U are professional paid millions
If linemen don't do they're job people have no power…
Oh I'm sorry I didn't do this or that right…
All they're asses are fired…
But U players and coaches stink it up.
And everybody just keeps on stinking it up…

The above video shows Bryce hitting a camera man with a ball, which the man got hurt and then Bryce laughs, very terrible thing to do man…
He needs to retire…
if anyone thinks Bryce is the main reason for our struggles needs NOT to comment on football in anyway since Bryce been our QB we have got rid 2 WRs he was actually vibing with on the field Tmac is definitely a #1 WR but we should still have Adam Theilen & DJ Chalk passing game would look alot different if we didn't let them leave bad front office moves is what we our known for
I believe in BY9
Bryce really needs a rebound from last week, he and the entire team had a chance to make a big statement on Sunday and they blew it. Still believe in you Bryce, but you got a lot to prove this Sunday. He owns ATL so this would be the perfect week
Bryce will throw for 250+yards and 3 touchdowns and things will be excited again!
Fans need mental help after yall performance
He gonna throw for like 100 yards 1 TD and 1 INT 🚮
Still backing you! No matter what the Haters say! Keep Pounding!
I believe in BY9. Fuck this bipolar fanbase
Bryce is my guy until he ain’t, he’s better than any other QB on the roster so we gotta ride with him until he’s not the best on the roster 🎉
I think it's up to the coach to give them more passing plays in deep plays down the football
STOP WITH THAT UMMM SHIT BRYCE AND GET YO NOODLE ARM READY TO THROW FOR AT LEAST 250 YARDS 3 TD'S AND NO INTERCEPTIONS OR PICKS OR YO ASS IS GETTING TRADED TO THE BROWNS
Bryce needs to get his stuff together and play football I'm tired with all these interviews just go outta there in play if he can't the coach needs to get somebody who can and cut our losses
BUST
Unfortunately Bryce is scared…Scared of the media and scared to let the fans down… Bryce….Man the F up and shut all of us up!!! Carolina needs you bro!!! And…we want you to be our hero!!!!
Let's get this Bryce.. keep Pounding Panthers!!!
He looks different
Nice kid but not the future. Even in recent wins his production wasn't great.
Let's hope this week is one of BY's good games. Consistency for the rest of the season would be a blessing.
I like how ticked off he looks
Mighty Mouse, it’s time to prove yourself. Clock is ticking, he needs to go out and prove that he should be the QB for this team beyond this season.
