Mini-Movie: Keenan Sets Record & Chargers Beat Steelers | LA Chargers
What’s up, Ken? First things first, name, number, position. Keenan Allen, wide receiver, number 13. Perfect. Obviously, the legacy that you just uh was playing with for the last 11 years. He leads the blitz, throws over the middle, and that is complete. Keenan Allen getting a block, guns it on a slant. Allen at the 16, calling to the 17 near the numbers on the near side. Being able to come back and keep building on that. Keenan Allen, by the way, with that fourth catch makes him the fifth player in Charger history to reach 500 career catches. With that one, he passes Kellen Winslow for number three in Chargers history. After that catch for Keenan Allen now breaks a tie with Charlie Joiner for second most career receptions in Chargers history. Just keep building those bricks. Allen. What a catch. Caught Allen caught Keenan Allen. Just try to go get Antonio Gates. Could be a big night for Keenan Allen, too. He gets two receptions and he collects the title of most receptions in franchise history. and a man whose record you’re trying to break. Hall of Famer Antonio Gates is right. That’s big bro. Him setting the bar and then um you know me coming in after playing with him. Corner corner corner corner corner. Boom. Him being a Hall of Famer, you know, just being able to reach his milestones and um you know, just do what I set out to do, you know, from the beginning to be the best. Third and eight. Steelers bringing an extra one. Herbert in the middle. It’s caught. There’s Keenan Allen. Ties the Charger mark with that first down grab. His first of the night at the 47 yd line. At the end of the game, we up by a lot of points. I’m like, hey, we just do a speed sweep or something. And there’s a toss. There you go. That’s it. Keenan with the record. That is reception number 956. teammates surround him. Yeah, I think that was the best part, you know, through it all. Um, being being with the guys, seeing their emotions, um, you know, making it a making it a special moment. Standing ovation, all these Charger fans stayed in prime time, you know, being home back in front of the fans. Uh, being able to do it with Antonio Gates here, you know, means a lot. One of the all-time great Chargers, one of the all-time great receivers of his era. at the midway point. Always always good to remember fate is in our hands. Guys are attacking it highly motivated for this big game. I see with players, coaches, a lot of energy in the building. A warm November evening in beautiful Southern California and we have 70,000 fans settling into Sofi Stadium in Englewood. Well, we got a packed house. You can probably hear it in the background. Feels big cuz it is big. Sunday night, bro. You can’t fake your love for the bro game, bro. It’s only one way one way to play this game and that’s physical. You understand me? Let’s dominate these, man. Dominate on three. 1 2 3. It’s about us, man. All right. It’s about us. We prepare well. All right. We got goals that we want to take care of. All right. It starts in how you step on this field. All right. Let’s be great today. All right. Be the best on the feet. One, three. 1 2 3. Be the best. Vlad Makoni said it for all of us. We are all Lad Mcconi in this moment. He said, “Growing up, these are the games you want to play in. It’s the only game on. Everyone is watching. And these guys know that this is going to be a physical game. Whenever the Pittsburgh Steelers are involved, it’s going to be a physical game. With so many teams having a good first half of the year, whether it’s within the division or within the conference, these head-to-heads are huge. And welcoming the 6 and3 Los Angeles Chargers led by their franchise quarterback Justin Herbert tonight taking on future Hall of Famer Aaron Rogers and the 5 and3 Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Let’s go. Hey, break. Break it tight. Come here, baby. Hey, let’s go. Prime time in our house. Protect our house. One prime time. All that matters to W. Let’s go, baby. By any means. Let’s go. 102. One, two. Hey, let’s go dog. This place is packed. Not an empty seat in the house for this prime time affair as Dicker boots this one away and we are started in the back field by Warren. He stopped shy of the 40 at the 38 yd line. Gain a three. Dayon Henley with the tackle. He knew what type of game it was going to be. We knew it was going to be a physical game. They have a very physical front on both sides of the ball. Um and do a good job of establishing that. And so, you know, obviously our job is to be the the antagonist in that story. And I think the guys that out there did a good job. Bucks the run nowhere to go and he’s just got to get rid of it so he doesn’t get sacked. A beautiful play by the Chargers defense. We got some players who can free it. Denzel Perryman, one of them to stop there. About to get hit again as he gets it out to Trey Harris who stopped short of the line of scrimmage by Braden Eckles. Here we go. They’re going to go for it again and picked up. Have we reached rock fight level right now? Yes. Yes, we have. Great call, PJ. It is a rock fight out there. But here we go. Good field position thanks to the punt from JK Scott. Steelers get started on their own 5 yd line. Caleb Johnson is the bag and from the six he gets contacted. Another rookie from Oregon. Jamari Caldwell finishes that off. Loss of a pair for the Steelers. Hand off to Johnson again. This time Johnson able to make his way through short of the 10. Points might be hard to come by for both teams tonight for different reasons. And that’s why a play right here is massive because this is a field position play. Get a stop right here and you’re going to be lined up beautifully for your offense. I think the biggest thing was just making A-Rod uncomfortable in the pocket and it kind of made it easier for us. Like I said before, that’s a big shout out to OG. Third and seven and four. Rogers and the end zone in a little bit of trouble. Dancing away from Mack. He lost the football back on it for a safety. Oh, raise your hands and put them together. The Chargers got two points. And what a way to cement a legacy that only he and Kevin Green have. That is his 35th sack as a Charger. He and Green the only two players to do it with three different franchises. They make this now a three-2 game. It’ll be a free kick to the Chargers. And it’s a quick draw to Q Q 40 45 yd line. Shuffles all the way out to the 48 and a first down. A gain of eight. You said it DJ. You called it at the start of the game. You just got to get these quick hitters going. Pressure coming. Herbert pumps it. They chase him down from behind as he takes one of those hits from behind that you worry about. Again, Herbert slow to get up. So Herbert on a second and 15 taking a shot middle of the field. caught Maki to the 15 near the first down marker. Where will they spot it? Yes, Mark one. The thing I like most about Justin Herbert. He just got sacked. He just got hit. Watch him stand tall in the pocket. Not a thought in the world about somebody might hit him. At the very least, man, did they get their defensive rest. And this kick is good. And the Chargers up five to three. Baseball score for a baseball beginning to this one. This has been all defense on both sides of the ball. Haye and Bud Depri, your edges. Now they go empty. Rogers looking right to throw. Escapes. Head dropped, but Depris with his first sack of the season, a loss of two. And for DRI, career sack number 60. We knew um that the best defense was going to have to show up and uh that’s the team that was going to win. And um that that was our mindset. You know, you can come in here prime time ball and be the best defense on the field. And um that’s what we was able to do. Here he comes. Picked up. Rodri shot downfield. Calvin Austin broke it up. Last second. Great play on the dive by Nico Reed, the rookie out of Oregon. Second down in the middle. Half intercepted. He threw it too high. And RJ Mickens, the rookie, has his second career pick and he’s got one from a future Hall of Famer. Man, that was so big. Uh I always tell him every day, man, just be the best and um just making a lot of plays and everybody making plays, man. Um it was just a overall good day on defense and momentum is everything like it can really persuade the game how it goes and I felt like we we set the tone in in the beginning of the game and and we just carried that out throughout the whole game. Herbert hands to Videl. Videll breaks a tackle. Videl all the way to the 30 yd line. And it’s a quick out. Q trying to juke his man. He does to the 25. Q all the way to the 20 yd line. Some physicality for a gain of seven. Rush four. Herbert throws. Caught. Touchdown Chargers. Lad Maki. 16 yds on what DJ you called it. The inut. He literally runs so fast off the ball. Like it’s it’s kind of crazy and just the way he’s able to change direction and how shippy he is. Hey, I see you. I see you. So that’s the half. Chargers at the break 12 to three over the Steelers and they’ll start the second half with the ball on offense. So if you’re if you’re on the naughty list, it’s no pre you get no presence, right? That’s the way it works. That’s the whole key to this second half is just keep the Steelers on the naughty list. You don’t give them anything. Our coaches talk about, you know, earning the right to pass rush. And so for them, them guys, they do they dominate on run downs so they can pass rush and get to the quarterback. So after the timeout leaves the Steelers with two, a third and two. And again, they’re trying to convert their first third down. Right to left. That’s where Rogers is looking. Pressure coming. Rogers hit and he’s dropped. Sack. Tuli. Tui Palotu. A loss of four. And the Chargers defense does its job. Way, huh? Let me get some, baby. Let’s go. Let’s go. Keep it up. Keep it up. Oh, Chargers back on offense. Play action. Sets his feet. Middle of the field. Caught. Make again. All the way out to the 40 yd line. A lot of respect for Kamani. Tell him every week, man, you don’t know when your opportunity is going to come. And he’s been taking full advantage of. I got so much respect. He playing like running back one in this league, man. And um he he’s doing a great job for himself, honestly, man. Hand off by Dell again by Dell. Gets his way through the interior. So, this will be from 59 yds to tie his career and the alltime Chargers record from the left hash. 59 y. And this kick is right down the middle. Cam Dicker again from 59 yds. Mr. Automatic ties his own record and increases the Charger lead to 15-3. That draw, the Dicker draw. Second best field position of the night for the Steelers in need of something good to happen. And maybe that’s it. A run of 11 to get him going. You said it. You just kind of let him up off the mat with that field position. got away from one, got away from another, got a first down at the 14 yd line. You’re looking at two teams that are top 10 in the league and a Chargers face top five in the red zone and that could very well decide this thing here in the fourth quarter. It’s a difficult task in the red zone just simply because it’s a point where the offense gets to throw their best tricks at you. First and 10 now in the red zone. You mentioned it, DJ. They’re seventh in the league in red zone offense. Chargers fourth in the league on red zone defense. This a big one. We just got to buckle down and like I said, stick to what we know, what we prepare for. Rogers wanted that quick look to DK Beck. Didn’t have it so he throws it to the ground. Just making sure everybody fundamentally sound playing on one court 11 as one looking throwing incomplete. He was shying away from contact as a boy came in and gave him a lick. Playing tight coverage that was that was key in this game. So here we go. Fourth down. We know Aaron Rogers. I mean uh he’s the best in business getting the ball out quick. We had had the faith and belief and the and the confidence to play tight coverage and our guys did that. You saw Cam Hart throwing right slotted away. What a play. Cam Hart on DK Metaf turnover on downs. That was a great great play. Sticky coverage. Our guys really rose up and and uh took that challenge on and we’re great. That’s the battle we wanted to see. We knew physical on physical and Cam Hart turns the ball over. You got your head around you. Justin Herbert’s doing everything to keep this team running and then some. But he probably does have the best collection of wide receivers that he’s had so far. He’s been showing up, you know, weekly that the ball could go anywhere. I feel like with everybody in our receiver room right now is special. Has many special talents. Each guy has their own style. That’s something I really appreciate. Herbert, it’s a quick throw out to Q. Then you got Q who’s like a gazelle when he runs honestly. You know, he’s always looking to make that big play. Step Q to the 15 to the 20. Q right sideline to the 25. He looked like he was going to give him a little move to make him miss and said, “Ah, forget it. I’m just going to put my hand in your face and throw you on the ground.” Gain of 15. What a drive starter for Q. The options are showing up. Playmakers are making plays. McConi Harris to the right. Conklin Keenan left. The more things that the defense has to defense, the harder it is for him. Third and six. It’s Allen’s down. Herbert throws. Maki’s got it. And he’s gone. As a beast, man. Um, real savvy. Maki, how’d you do it? How did you do it? 2520. Just shifty and straight speed, man. 58 yd gain for Lad Maki. Flips the field to the Chargers. I don’t believe my eyes. How did he catch that ball? How did Herbert find him? Lad was able to steal that football away and then once he got the ball in his hands, he hit the go button. Just a little muscle there from Lad to haul that one in. And a big smile on his face afterwards. Lad four for 107 and a touchdown. And now the Chargers under 10 minutes left in the game with a goal to go. See if we can get Kimmani a touchdown here after his hard running today from the shotgun. First and goal for the two. It is Videl to the left into the end zone. Touchdown Chargers. Kimmani Videl rewarded for all those hard runs earlier today with the score. Hey, you ran that ass over, bro. You ran his ass over. The defense gets you a stop. The offense takes it the length of the field and punctuated by Kamani Videll dropping a shoulder and running right through a defensive lineman in YA Black who goes about 330. Hey, I’m not getting 22-3. Defense has been sensational tonight. We got keys like we go through every day and it’s like it goes communication, it goes block destruction. Rogers just falling off throats like I mean he he’s so skittish back there effort angles then it goes tackling and it has been Jesse M’s group that has just eaten them alive. Then it goes turnover. You know we go through that every day. We go out there and try to execute. Inside throw off the hands of Calvin Austin and into the hands of the Chargers Dante Jackson. His second of the season. the 21st of his career. A 20-yard return. What did I tell you? What did I tell you? I told you. I told you. That’s how you going to get a ball. Happy birthday. I like wins that are decided by great preparation, great strategy, finesse. We just have to talk a little bit about what the Chargers are doing here. But the best to me are the the physical ones. You know, one by heart and grit and guts. Bring in a hard ball and you’re bringing in toughness. You’re bringing in the grit. People who are willing to grind their way through a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and come out with a win. I just feel like our team’s got they got hearts of champions. Come on.
Relive the LA Chargers’ primetime win vs the Pittsburgh Steelers at SoFi Stadium in Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season. Kimani and Omarion are gonna be a problem once that Oline is healthy
stop giving away too much inside information in these videos
I wanna know what Mack told AR lol
I grew up watching him gates and rivers. Too young for the LT era but this was who I grew up watching. No doubt greatest chargers WR of all time
Wish he would have broke the record with a tug!!!
Does ka13 stay with the team another year or do they develop tre and dre?
That throw from Herbert to Ladd reminds me of the Rivers throw to Benjamin that was better but Herbert watching River's tape for sure.
Nikko Reed is a baller!
Nothing LIKE the HC , OC , DC and special teams co having a great game plan & players ready for a game ! Nice job . Things to fix still , like the 8 flags , but, a real good game still .
Love the mini-movies. It would be cool if they combine all of them together at the end of the year and sprinkle in a little extra footage to connect them
But they lost against the giants. This don't make sence to me
I been praying for a charger team like this! We finally have a group of guys that wanna be here, and are willing to lay it down for the man next to them. #BOLTUP⚡️⚡️⚡️
