I never expected him to win, it was always going to be Skubal. I can’t believe Hunter didn’t get any first or second place votes though.
Put a small chip on your shoulder and build on this season’s phenomenal results. You may not have the award, but you got it in our hearts and minds.
AP Writer based out of Dallas was the only person who didn’t include Hunter Brown on their ballot. He gave a 5th place vote to Jacob DeGrom instead.
So a pick after the first round is pretty vague, can anyone shed a little more light on what we might expect for the draft pick?
Man, I think he should’ve been second, not third.
He shouldn’t have gotten any first place votes, and I’m okay with most people thinking Crochet was better, but zero 2nd place votes and any vote lower than 3rd is bullshit. He was *clearly* the 3rd best pitcher in the AL this year.
PPI picks are immediately after the first round, and before the revenue-sharing comp picks and competitive balance comp A picks. Last years’ PPI was #28 because teams like the Dodgers, Mets, Yankees get penalized 10 spots for exceeding the 2nd tax threshold. I assume the braves PPI pick for Drake Baldwin ROY will be before ours, so I expect the Astros PPI pick to be #29 or so.
